AT th ebeginning of the film, when they are on motorbikes, Yazoo shoots Cloud in the face and knocks of his glasses, was he using rubber bullets or something??????

Later Yazoo just shoots right through Cloud...

Could someone clear this up for me plz :)

Hmm, he has bullet proof glasses maybe lol!

Nah im pretty sure the shot wasnt straight in the eye, it was more of an angle shot which hit him, but scimmed his face, leaving a scar and knocking his glasses off. Im sure thats the reason.

That's what i thought of it, too. It was just a mis-fire, possibly intentional. I don't think they wanted to kill him; they needed to know where "Mother" was.

I was thinking it was intentional too. Yazoo is a good shot - missing that shot while he was only a couple feel away from Cloud doesn't really suit. It must have been an intentional miss as they don't really want Cloud dead...yet.

Hmm, and I'm not sure what you mean by Yazoo shooting right through Cloud. =/ Cloud was shot as far as I could tell...

He means at the ending, Suki,
right after Cloud finishes Sephiroth
.

Yazoo was too good of a shot to miss that, agreed, so it was prolly an intentional miss.

Like everyone says, it seemed intentional to miss the shot the first time.

I mean, look at Yazoo's expression; he looked pretty smug (and smexy ^^)

Oh it's just fan service and to be 'cool' basically. Yazoo shot Cloud twice, his glasses and shot Cloud in the back. If you think about it, Yazoo has terrible aim. He was just a pretty boy who was like: "Look! I have a gun!" *flips hair*

Don't think about Advent Children too much, it's all just one big fan service movie.

i dont ever remember him flipping his hair =/

but I believe Yazoo did intend to only scratch Cloud, just to show him they mean business. In the end, he wanted to take him out because they wanted to "go together", as in be with Mother. Thats what I believe, anyway.

"It's Final Fantasy. Logic does not exist."

Obviousy AC wasn't meant to display much for realism, the moves defied the laws of gravity, let alone Cloud's haircut. As for near the beginning when Yazoo shoots Cloud in the face, I laughed out loud at that. He gets shot with a bullet, point blank range in his face, his glasses chip off and he bleeds the equivalent of a shallow cut. The story was good in its own way, but I didn't take the movie very seriously. Entertaining to watch though. Could have been more Vincent, just my fan boy ways haha.

I was highly interested to find out how Square would handle the "cloud hair issue" when I heard they were making AC. I mean the original spikes were only a few meters long and it would look ridiculous on an otherwise well 'graphic-isised' movie. At the end they were pretty conservative with the hair issue compared to how daring they were in the original game :p.

Could've been more Nanaki too, he says all of one line! "Cloud, some of the children still have the stigma". I was so cheesed off, he made up a fair chunk of the original story and that's all we get.

Oh and that opening scene of him running through a canyon and looking over a ruined Midgar, complete with no explanation of what that was all about whatsoever! Was it in the future, past? Who were the extra "nanaki-species" individuals, he said he was the last of his kind in the original game. But yeh, more fanboy antics here too .

well, if you can remember, that opening with Nanaki was actually the ENDING of the original game. Why they reference that, I have no idea! It was not relavent to the story. It is 300 years after the original, 298 years after the movie.

also, there is one other of Nanaki's kind, a female, who went under some kind of sleep and was not mentioned once, hence everyones confusion.

and yes, his single-liner pissed me off completely. At least I liked his voice. He did not even talk in DoC! >=[

Ah ok thanks for explaining it. Never thought about that.

The thing when I said he shoots "through" Cloud, I mean the bullet passes through him (still hurting him).

I'm not sure about the part where you say Yazoo shoots right through Cloud later on in teh film, but when he shoots at his face and knocks off his glasses, I thought I remembered seeing a bit of blood from right above Cloud's eye...

it must ahve been a surface-hit that just nicked him and Cloud got really lucky.

I doubt an enemy would use a rubber bullet. That's like the DC Sniper using Paint-ball bullets.

He didn't kill him on purpose, if Yazoo wanted to kill cloud I dont think he would have missed from that range, they were just toying with him.

rofl was that a typo? i dont think, no matter how exaggerated, cloud's hair spike was even one METER?

Oops, yeh, it was supposed to be "metre", my computer loves American spelling for some reason and shuns any other English :P. It might have been somewhat of an exaggeration *whistles innocently*.

From what I've seen there are two likly answers one hes using rubber bullets or two as the round hit the metal section of clouds glasses it bounced off leaving him with a cut and broken glass.

The first shot i agree was most likely intentional and clouds glasses are pretty strong to withstand it, he wouldnt want to kill cloud at that point as they were just playing with him.

as to the shot at the end i thought that was intentional but it was only a shot that was not too critical and therefore cloud would survive. although cloud does go somewhere because he goes to see areith and then he gets healed by the water in the church so maybe it was a serious shot but he was still able to survive from it. also notice before sephiroth stabs him right through the arm and he still seems to be ok, so maybe he was using regen materia.
its just one of these things we will never know

As many have said before, the first shot was a scare shot, meant to show Cloud how much they were toying with him. (The idiot dropped his sword! How the hell does he survive shit? >.<)

Anywho, the last shot was meant for a kill shot, and seeing it was high in the chest, Cloud would probably be coughing up a lung if he had survived the explosion. Not very conducive to long life.

But here's some food for thought. Yazoo sucks at shooting. He fires his weapon 576 times (yes, I counted and recounted them ALL) and he misses every single time and hits cloud only once (or twice, depending if you count only real meaning-business shots or scare-the-shit-outta-teh-blonde shots).

Yazoo is friggin lame.

Well of course Yazoo sucks at aiming, most villians are in the movies. When was the last time you saw a Stormtrooper or a Bond grunt actually hit and killed the main character or someone of any real importance?
