Something which I've noticed is that in every form of digital entertainment, when a woman falls to the ground, she lands with legs spread directly apart like doing the splits and bent over with a single hand holding her up. What started this?
 
I tend to fall face first, so I have no idea what my legs are doing
 
that was falling? I thought it was intentional, recovering from a fall

And i thought he meant falling on your arse, legs akimbo with a dippy expression on your face, coz Ive done that one too
 
I'm just saying that the pose I posted a picture of is also kind of a cliched pose. I don't know who started it.

Um, yes, I meant recovering from a fall.
 
Well, it's an interesting topic, but there isn't much basis for real discussion (plus it got spammed up in a hurry :lew:).

I think that this type of fall is only common among females in martial arts movies / TV series. That'll be why Tifa did this pose, and also why some other females do so in an action film. It's a pose which shows how the character had been knocked backwards, but she is now in control.

In fact, I don't think that it is strictly limited to females either. I'm pretty sure that I've seen some flexible male characters strike a similar pose.
