I got a pretty funny one from someone I work with today, he said:

"At first when you cut your hair short it looked really weird...maybe because it was new, like when I cut my hair short it looks weird for a week... but the length it's at now looks really good"

I thought that was quite funny... like I am not sure if I should feel offended or complimented...

Have you ever received a weird compliment?

I was told i look like Jamie T :hmmm:
He is an English singer songwriter who looks a bit like a junkie. I felt like i should be insulted but this girl seemed so excited about it. I do not look like him at all though. Not even close :rage:

I was told I was "hot" by a girl just seconds after being told that she has a thing for creepy looking guys.
If I've ever wanted to be anything, it's to be attractive in a creepy way.
There was also one time, this lady told me she wanted to nibble on my chin. She may have had mental issues so I don't know if I should count that as a compliment or not.

I was told I have a stentorian nose.

I didn't get it until reading The Pirates! books written by Gideon Dafoe, and I still don't get it because stentorian means loud and powerful, as in a tone of voice. :hmmm:

It was said like a compliment, but I don't think it was one.

I'm not sure if that could be considered a compliment, but in elementary school, a girl once said:

"You're not ugly, no. You're just... strange!"

This random customer at work, who's a regular (and keeps insisting i'm a lesbian nerd [second half being right, first just being stupid] ) looks at me while he's waiting to talk to my boss and was like "Are those really your eyes?"

I was like "yeah?"

"Cause I thought they were brown."

"No, they're green."

"You wear like contacts or something?"

"No, they're really this green."

"oh, well they're pretty."

i was just lost at "are those really your eyes?" :lew:

I've been called a "Nerdy Harry Styles" on more than one occasion, by both genders. :wacky:

I'm not sure if that's a compliment or insult- since my hate for One Direction is quite vocal. 0.0

I was called elvis during h.s and michael jackson in college. Both due to my hairstyle. Dunno if either were complements or insults.

When I was younger, we're talking 15-16, I was told I looked like Daniel Radcliff :hmph:
A skinny nerdy boy :gasp: Come to think of it, it was probably true.

Other than that, the latest strange compliment would have to be that my voice was super sexy. Thanks? I don't like to talk very much, I'd rather listen. Though I can't shut up when typing...

At this factory I used to work at there a guy there named Ryan that I was friends with. He also happened to be gay, which doesn't bother me. He was always cool as fuck.
Anyways, I went into work and I was wearing this new cologne I bought. I walked by him and he looked at me and said "you wearing cologne?" I turned back and told him yeah I was. He looked at me and then told me that "I smelled delicious."
I busted out laughing because I have never ever heard that before.

Another time was when me and some friends went to a club nearby. It was my buddy Jason/his girlfriend(now ex) Katie, Jason's buddy, Katies friend Alyssa, and 2 other girls that were friends of Katies. Well I danced with one of her friends, and her other friend danced with some random dude.
This club was split in half. On the bottom floor is where gay people hang out and have fun, and on the top floor is where straight people go to. Well we walked outside after a few hours because they all wanted to have a cigarette. I didn't smoke but I figured what the hell Ill go out too.

So, I'm standing by my buddy Jason while hes smoking, and this dude walks up and says "you guys look like pornstars". We both looked at each other and started dying laughing. He looked at us and said "no I'm serious, you look like pornstars. And I bet you both have big dicks." We looked at each other and was like "ummm, thanks man."

Shit was absolutely hilarious

I've been told I look like Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor... probably because of my fringe... and the cheekbones... and obsession for wearing bow ties...

After I shaved my head and face recently, I was told I look like Bam Bam Bigelow. He was a wrestler for WWF, WCW, etc. Not sure if that's a bad or good thing.

I used to work at a Red Lobster in Nashville and one year, American Idol auditions were being held at the Bridgestone Arena downtown.. So naturally, we got a bit busier than our normal state of being deader than my grandmother as the store sits right off the interstate going towards Nashville (it's a really ghetto bit that used to be nice). ..

A family of 6 came in for lunch and the mom told me I look like Kelly Clarkson (I look nothing like Kelly Clarkson).

Another woman said I look like Carrie Underwood one day and I nearly dropped my tray of drinks... I -definitely- look nothing like Carrie Underwood. I'm not even blonde!

I swear I posted in this thread.

The weirdest compliment that I've ever received was probably in regards to my elbows. Or forearms. I can't remember exactly what the latter was about, just that it happened, but I was at college and someone came up to me and said I had nice elbows. Or maybe I've mixed that up. I just remember elbows. Like completely serious. I still don't know what to do with it

Maybe they were being sarcastic? I did break my elbow as a child and now I'm able to bend my arm back quite unnaturally... so maybe I was doing that without realising. Nooo clue.

I posted in this a long time ago but I had a couple of new ones soooooo...

Anywho, one night I got called by some chick who was possibly high or drunk. Of course it was the wrong number and she apologized and hung up. About five minutes later she starts texting me telling me I had a "really hot voice" (my girlfriend tells me that my voice tends to deepen when I'm answering phone numbers I don't recognize). I guess it's not that weird of a compliment but shit, that was a first for me. Especially my voice of all things because when I hear recordings of myself I think I sound like STAR_ from YouTube except with a more condescending tone.

Bump.

Only two incidents came to mind.

The first happened a few months ago. I was volunteering in an office and one of the ladies came by and stopped to chat. I wear my hair up in a pony most the time but I have some strands of hair down along the side of my face since it looks nicer. That particular day I was really tired and I hadn't time to shower yet but I was running late (as usual) - After small pleasantries she said her goodbye and walked away, but stopped and turned back really nicely and went "By the way, I like your hair strings"... and then left. It doesn't seem as funny when I type it up but it was just a very unusual thing to say, or maybe just her wording & the way she said it. lol!

The second thing happened when I was working 3rd shift at a retail store. It was pretty early in the night, which is when the last heavy wave of customers usually come through. Some dude approached me and asked about where a certain item was. I escorted him towards said item (Honestly I don't even remember what it was) and when we got there he thanked me & I went back to the freight I was stocking. A little bit later the dude walks back and approaches me to tell me, 'By the way, you walk a lot like my ex-girlfriend walks... and that ain't a bad thing. :kinky:'

:brooding:

I have a few funny stories about off-the-wall compliments, though one particular one immediately came to mind when I saw the title.

So potential TMI here, I'm into BDSM and I'm (mostly) a Dom. This is something that has been a pretty big part of my life, such that when I get to know people for any period of time, it comes out. I have told most of my immediate circle of friends about it, and the response I always get is mild bewilderment. I don't exactly look or act the part in day-to-day life. But I think my friend Krissy put it into words best when she said, with a flabbergasted tone: "But you're too nice to be a Dom!"

So, yeah, that one's always kind of stuck with me.
