Name – Sylver Axford

Alignment – Good

Race – Human

Gender – Male

Age – 22

Appearance – Sylver isn't particularly muscular, but is fairly tall, standing at a height of '6"1. He has white hair which covers his left eye and goes down to his neck. On the topic of his eyes, he has brown eyes. However, his left eye (the one his hair covers) is blind, and is quite unsettling to look at.

Attire – Sylver typically wears blue. His normal outfit consists of a blue fedora hat with a white feather, and he also wears a black, short-sleeved shirt, and a blue cape with a white trim. His pants are grey, and he wears brown boots and black fingerless gloves. His clothes also have burn marks on them. (He never gets around to explaining where those came from.) In order to keep his agility at maximum, he doesn't wear armor.

Personality – Sylver's most notable characteristic is his cool and collected demeanor. Even when being threatened, he reacts as if nothing is going on. He's suprisingly honest for a gambler and doesn't resort to cheating or dirty tricks. Sylver is very introverted, but he has a heart of gold. His stoic nature is buried under his laid-back attitude. His view on killing depends on what the person did to deserve it.

First Impression – Sylver initially comes off as a little overconfident and arrogant. If you started talking to him, he'd come across as a little introverted, as he rarely answers questions that are anywhere near personal, let alone what the deal with his eye is. He never lets a conversation get too carried away, though, thanks to an incident that happened during his youth.

Strength – His physical strength is subpar. Most of his attack power comes from the cards he use as weapons. If he punched a wall, he'd probably do more damage to his hand than the wall. Still, his throwing arm is decent and his legs are pretty strong.

Vitality -- Due to his lack of armor, Sylver's physical defense is dismal. However, his magical defense is moderately high, and he can take a medium-strength magic attack like Fira with only a couple of bruises. Ice spells are his weakness, however.

Speed – Sylver is very agile and quick, and can outrun most people easily. At his top speed, he can run at nearly 30 miles per hour, but he can only run this fast for roughly 2 minutes (see Stamina). His speed often comes in handy when executing his strategy of keeping his distance, and he gets the initiative more often than not. However, this tends to be a problem. Oftentimes he'll arrive somewhere so fast that it takes his mind a couple of seconds to catch up.

Stamina – His stamina is decent, but he does eventually run out of energy. It takes quite a bit of time for him to tire, though, so it isn't that big of a deal. Running at top speed, it would take roughly 2 minutes to wear him out. However, his normal running speed takes him 10 minutes to get tired. Also on the topic of stamina, he's an excellent swimmer and can hold his breath underwater for over 2 1/2 minutes.

Reflexes – Sylver's reflexes are practically superhuman. He can dodge things within half a second of seeing them, and if it's a slower-moving projectile, he'll likely find some way to block it or deflect it.

Fighting Style – In order to compensate for his lacking strength, Sylver has an incredibly versatile fighting style. His choice weapons allow him to either attack from long range or in close quarters. Oftentimes, his close-range strategy is as follows: Equip weapons that inflict status problems like Poison or Paralysis, move in for a few hits, and back out quickly. As for long range, he mostly resorts to throwing them while keeping a distance.

Weapons – Sylver's primary weapon is a deck of playing cards which he can either throw like shurikens or use a hand of cards like a blade. The cards are sharp enough to cut right through solid rock, and they return like boomerangs. His deck of cards contains cards with a picture of a blue crystal on the back, with the card's value on the other side. The numerical value doesn't seem to have any effect in combat. His secondary weapon are Dice Bombs. They look like black dice with light blue dots. Their destructive power depends on what they roll- 2 being the weakest and 12 being the strongest.

Abilities – Sylver's abilities mostly fall under the categories of physical attacks and Blue Magic, but he does have a few other tricks up his sleeve, namely his Limit Break, Card Trick. When using Card Trick, Sylver chooses 3 cards, throws them into the ground, and they come out right underneath his targets. His other Limit Break, Slots, involves him throwing 3 cards into the air, which then rapidly rotate, and the icons on the cards rapidly change, to represent Fire, Ice, Thunder, Water, etc. When the slots land on something, he draws power from them and uses an ability based on the result. (i.e., if he got 2 Fires, he'd use Fira.) If all 3 are different, he uses a generic ball of energy.

Magic – Sylver is a Blue Mage, meaning he can use the attacks of his enemies. Here's how it works; Sylver can use his "Draw" ability on certain enemies with special skills. He dashes towards his enemy and absorbs a bit of his enemy's essence, turning it into a playing card. The card is the source of the ability, but he does consume Mana while using enemy skills. His current repitoire consists of Goblin Punch (a series of very rapid punches), Aqua Breath (a long-range water attack), and Mighty Guard (Increases the defense of him and his allies). He also knows Flame Thrower (a fire attack), but he never uses it (see why in History)

Other Skills – Outside of combat, Sylver is an expert at detecting lies. It's rumored that this ability is tied somehow to his left eye, and when asked, that's his explanation, although he never explains how. He's also a decent flute player.

History – Sylver was born in a town where white hair was considered a bad omen. In response, his father abandoned him in a blizzard and Sylver was left for dead. He was found and rescued by an older Blue Mage, but his left eye had already gone blind. He grew up learning how to be a Blue Mage and took up gambling in his free time. He one day encountered another Blue Mage named Cheryl, and the two hit it off pretty well. However, as they grew closer and closer together, Sylver grew more and more powerful, and he began to worry about some things; mainly, what if his abilities ended up harming Cheryl? He one day confessed this fear, but Cheryl told him that such a thing would never happen. Well, guess what, it did. He and Cheryl were out solving a bet on who could maintain a flame for a longer period of time. While the contest was on, a creature called a Chimera attacked them. Sylver panicked and lost control of his flame, taking out the Chimera but fatally wounding Cheryl in the process. Blaming himself, he left for parts unknown, and never was able to forgive himself.
