So who likes Texas Hold'em or any other style of poker gaming?

I love T-Hold'em. I usually player on Full Tilt. I also enjoy watching those Poker shows. I don't think I'm "the best" but I'm pretty good. I can read others fairly well and am unpredictable at a table. I've never gotten the opportunity to play in a Casino but I've played my share of tournaments around town. I've won a few hundred dollars here and there.

My favorite hand is Q-4 of hearts or diamonds (must be suited). I always hit it.

So, does anyone else play? If so, are you any good? Online or Casino? Done anything professionally? Any good wins? And lastly, what's your favorite hand?

Ahhh, always nice to see fellow poker fans.

A few years ago I would play online poker. I play on PokerStars for the most part. I would jump into the nightly tournaments most nights. The last time I played, I did my usual tournament, and much to my surprise, out of about 7,500 people, I came in 2nd place! It didn't really mean anything, I just gained a ton of chips for buy-in's. I never played again because it was a midnight tournament and I was up until almost 8 a.m. and felt that it was just too long.

I dabbled with 7-Card Stud, Omaha and Razz, but Texas Hold 'em is the game I play best in. Stud and Razz are fun games, but being limit games, they move way too slow. Omaha tends to be a tricky game. Landing a straight or a flush doesn't really help much, as you can be beat pretty easily by better versions or a Full House. Omaha really is a totally different animal, it's not just Hold 'em with 2 extra cards like most people think. It takes a whole different style of play, one that I never took the time to familiarize myself with. I feel right at home playing Hold 'em. I can see most situations develop and make the right call in a lot of instances. I've yet to play live poker myself, but I'm pretty confident with my knowledge of the game and my ability to get into a person's head, not to toot my own horn though.

I've watched a lot of poker in my time, and go back a ways as well. I remember watching the final table of the '98 World Series, which was so damn long. Scotty Ngyuen (spelling?) won that year, and it was an ungodly 1 million dollars. Now that's nothing, lol. Poker After Dark is actually on as we speak and I don't even have it on! Watching the good pro players play will help you learn a lot if you pay attention. The World Series is tough to watch, too many amateurs and too many random "all in's" on drawing hands. Poker After Dark is definitely good to watch to gain knowledge on how the game is played.

Umm, I never really thought about what my favorite hand is. I play tight, so most hands I play are solid ones to begin with. I'd have to say that I do pretty well with K-10, I generally develop something from that.

We should totally have a FFF Poker Club if enough people on here like that sort of thing. We'll find out after this thread lingers a little.

My family played poker on holidays when I was growing up. For money. So I've been around cards most of my life. I've played a bunch of Texas Hold 'Em online, usually at PacificPoker.net, although I'm not even sure the site is still operational. I did pretty well, even though I never played for real money. I won a few tournaments, made a bunch of final tables. I've never played in person though. Maybe I will one of these days.

I don't really have a favorite hand, but I love suited connectors.

A FFF Poker Club would be awesome!
I tried playing on PokerStars a while back. I didn't like the table settings. I'm finicky like that. Addicting to Full Tilt. As for other poker games, I've tried them. Omaha was the only other one that I enjoyed but no where near as much as I love Texas Hold'em. ^_^

I used to play a hell of a lot. I actually think I spent more time studying poker in year 12 than I spent on home work.

I have played at a lot of online sites but my favourite is by far Ultimate Bet. I don't play for real money online though, there's something about putting money into the internet that I just don't feel comfortable with. What I did was I played free role tournaments with cash prizes then if I won any money out of it I would play cash games with it. I mostly play no limit Texas Hold'em (I prefer cash games to tournaments). But I have tried Omaha and 7 card stud (never money though).

I've played a lot of live poker. I started off just playing Texas Hold'em with friends and I started playing at the casino on my 18th birthday. :wacky:

Nothing beats playing poker at a casino, I used to play at the casino a lot. But I don't play at the casino any more because I quit my job.

I think I used to be a lot better than I am now, but I can still pull of some good plays. I'm by no means the best player out there though. I can't really think of a favourite hand, I play an awful lot of hands when I am in the blinds or on the button. I also enjoy playing suited hands with a gap like 7-9 or 6-4, but only if I can get in cheap.

Are there any particular strategies/plays that you love?

Hmm.. I've got a few favorite strategies but they usually depend on the situation. For instance, if someone is easily irritated, I try to purposely get them on tilt by flaunting bluffs and being sure to follow it with a decent beat as well get the them upset over table talk. If I'm against a tight player, I over bet them. If I'm playing a lose player, I'll slowroll them.

Out of everything I'd have to say a really good one is to check/raise on a good hand, especially if I've got others betting into me. I also like to play nice. I'm a nice person in my nature so I like to keep that sort of idea while playing usually. If other players like you they respect you.

I usually play pretty tight, though I'll play some garbage if I can limp in out of the blinds. And I love to slowplay. Nothing like baiting the trap, sitting back, and then springing the hell out of it and locking them into being pot-committed.

Mmhmmm I am very decent at Hold Em. When playing online you have an automated dealer so you can't predict nor see people's faces, so I prefer to play in person.

Funny how I never get a flush in person, but online I can get one pretty much every 8 hands. My favorite hands are 3 of a kinds because I can pretty much bait anyone along in order to finish them off. Nothing like playing the river either. I absolutely hate when I get pocket rockets (aces) ... I never win... even if I always try.

Most I have ever won in an endurance bout is 400 bucks. But these days... I don't play enough, so I might be rusty.

I love poker but I play online, actually ONLY play online on the facebook texas hold'em. I'm too aggressive though and I get REALLY impatient (I used to have 100k fake chips :D) so I lose ALOT.
I love to trick people online, if you wait a long time to call online they think you have crap cards so in the last round they try and buy you out and you can just screw them over :D

yeaaaaa, TH'em poker is really awesome. I'm still a freakin "Big dog" god that god of poker hates me!!! What a hooker!:gasp:

Anyway, I usually play it on the fb and my hand usually sucks but I enjoy losing :P

Of course after I lose, I start cursing everyone on the table and run my ass out!!

Ehh I like poker Texas hold em in particular but man do I suck :) I thought I would be a natural but my very eager nature and tends to get me in bigpots with no chance. So naturally I'm always invited to the game ;)

well lets just say i'm not very good at poker as i only learned how to play a few months ago while i was at work :D but it is a fun game to play
