Help Places to train

I started working on Final Fantasy V a few days ago and got to the part where a second meteor hits and you need to go to Walz tower. So I don`t forget about it later on, I am leveling up my characters to fight Shiva in Walz castle. I got my characters to level 13 by leveling up in the room where Shiva is (because the monsters on the world map by Walz are weak and slow to level up), but experience points to next level are getting higher which means leveling will get slower. I am just curious if there are any better places nearby to level up or just skip Shiva until later in the game.

I've always just skipped fighting shiva until later in the game. However on my first playthrough I did as you are doing, I switched to four black mages and nuked her I believe. Its a hard fight early on but if you come back it will be much easier.

Hmm what sora said was true, but if you really want shiva now, then just train in the nearby forests near the castle OR Karnak.

I just fight her. I've never found her overly hard. I always power-level against these weird dog things that are near the Wind temple. You can only get to them with a boat though...
