I used to think you would always be there,
By my side until the end.
Now that you're gone, nothing seems to be fair,
I've waited for the day our relationship will mend.

When I gazed into those sparkling eyes,
My world began to awaken.
Was it too good to be true and a bunch of lies?
Or did you want to be forsaken?

I tried for years and got nothing,
You were so close, yet so far away.
I tried and tried, and still... nothing,
You let me go and I had nothing more to say.

I reached out to you,
While I was dying inside.
It's something you wouldn't do,
You just took me for the ride.

I did enjoy the ride,
But all things come to an end.
I never realized how much you lied,
But it seemed like a clever trend.

I couldn't even help you,
It was like you didn't want me there.
The truth, you always knew,
But all I had was your stare.

You hid your feelings by laughing,
Thinking no one would figure it out.
But I knew deep down you were aching,
Because you were having so much doubt.

But I couldn't go on like this,
You purposely led me on.
Why couldn't you face me and put a stop to this?
And just tell me you wanted me gone.

How could you do this to me?
You were everything I ever wanted.
Now, I can barely see,
Because my eyes are so blinded.

Why couldn't you just talk to me?
It's not like we were dead.
You were the only one who could set me free,
And take the thoughts away from my head.

I completely fell apart,
No one knew where I had been.
I didn't have the key to your heart,
So how was I supposed to get in?

In front of you, I stooped so low,
And I knew you loved your pride.
But in the end, I just wanted to let you know,
That I would have never left your side.
