Is it just me or is this game a little too easy?

(the DS version) Don't get me wrong, I liked the game, but when I first started playing it I expected a challenge, since on most game sites it's listed as "difficult." I found the other FFs far more difficult. There were hardly any puzzles, things to figure out for yourself, or confusing paths. I just levelled up frequently and always beat the bosses on first try, even on the last board. Does anyone else find this game to be a little too easy?

I thought it was pretty hard, I know I had to do loads of training at the end coz I kept getting my arse handed to me in that final Dungeon...and the lack of save points really got annoying aswel. It certainly tested my patience at times xD

Ive played much easier games tahn this one :wacky:

I haven't gotten far in it yet, I'm still on the Floating Continent with my ship probably looking for the Fire Crystal or something. I'd be playing through it now but I think I've left the cart back at 'home'.

From what I've played it doesn't seem overly difficult as such, just you have to keep levelled up more than normal as the enemies and/or the battles get stronger within a smaller space of time compared to most FF's. I've played the original NES version of the game and I can say that at the moment the DS version is slightly easier.

The last boss and the dark world (dont know what its properly called) were really hard but it was generally easy with the summons ok. sometimes i was underlevelled but i beat them with the cool SHADOWFLARE! geomancers the best job in ff3 imo.

I'll admit this game didn't give me too much trouble, but that's just because I've been playing RPGs for so long. If this was your first RPG, you'd find this game really hard. I appreciated that things weren't dumbed-down like in FF7. You actually have to fight in random battles. Bosses can pummel you if you're not careful. You can't buy full sets of equipment and still have money leftover. The game doesn't hand your levels to you. FFs 4, 5, and 6 were all more challenging, but at least it's not "easy."

It was actually really easy (as I found). I levelled up to 30 when I was in the fire cave or whatever and I sailed through the rest until the undersea cave, where I levelled to 50 I think. Finished the game at lvl 65. Never failed the game once.

The thing about it is. If you level up, it's easy. If you don't, it's hard

It wasn't hard, it was annoing. Every step you take you get attacked and stuff. Like Moon's I'm still looking for the Fire Crystal. Well I know where it is but it's rather annoing the way the lava in the cave takes away your health.

I thought the game was somewhere in the middle. Not too easy, but not too difficult either. Some of the bosses were a tad annoying, but I actually liked it a lot. My only complaint is that if felt a bit too short in terms of storyline. And if you're not careful, even random monster attacks can kill you.

I found it rather difficult, actually. Of course I was way under leveled, but meh.

I remember playing an old NES ROM of it, and finding it frighteningly difficult, but the DS remake I had no problems with. Granted, I was about 5 years older by the time I played the DS version, but there is a difference. The DS version has obviously been toned down a little.

Don't know about the DS version, but I believe it is easier than the original NES version which I have played (just like FFI GBA remake is easier than the NES FFI).
Rather than hard, it was time a little consuming. If you spend some time leviling up and choosing the best party combination, it'll be quite easy.
If you lazy like me, you maybe beaten a few times (7 or so times at the last dungeon...) until you understand that you must to level up a bit.
Then, after leveling up, it'll be quite easy again.

I found this game to be very easy. Though the main character's level was way higher than everyone else's because I got lost near the start of the game, at the part where you have to go between some trees...

Never noticed it for the longest time, so I trained until I figured out where I had to go, which was quite a long while...can't remember, but my level might have been pretty near Level 20, and the character seemed invincible as I progressed for a while while others took a bit of damage (also dealt big damage for so early in the game. XP). XD

I've always failed at putting effort into looking for something, so I had passed quite a few hours of play time before I really got anywhere... :ness:
