Well there are many questions I have with this game since I didn't buy the guide along with the game. I waited until now to buy the Game and because of it I hope I am not suffering for it.

So I have a few questions besides the obvious:

Obvious two being: Should I buy the book and start over?
If not am I missing anything?

Other Questions: The DMV system -

The DMV's I have noticed are the lvling system for materia and character growth and limit breaks. Typically there is no way to control them, but since I can't I have a few questions.

I started out with Blizzard x 1, Fire x 1 and Cure x 1 at first, but ever since I started doing the mission I have replaced my Fire x 1 with an AP ability Assault Twister along with HP + 10%.

So my slots are filled with the following:

Blizzard x 4
Cure x 4
Assault Twister x 3
HP + 10%

Bangle
Shinra Alpha

Take in mind I am no where as far as the story lines goes, I am just entering Genesis's and Angeal's home town. Which is like the 2nd real mission. Should I be lvling up any other types of materia? or is it merely an elemental choice? Thanks for the input.

Nah, it doesn't really matter at all what you level up, especially at first, and even though the DMW is random, it's fairly easy to mater materia anyway, it's mteria fusing thats gunna get your goat ALWAYS save before you fuse because I made the mistake of fusing a master mbarrier and barrier thinking Id get a wall, when I got some elemental bollocks xD

Also, you don't really need the guide, although it does help to pin point the odd mission or getting the stupid parts for the stupid flower wagon later on and one or 2 other annioying thisngs

You should however, be able to work most of it out yourself. You have the opportunity of doing new game plus at the end anyway, so don' start again, unlss yuo REALLY wanna do it first time with a guide. I went through, did what I could (fairly easily) then 100%'ed it on new game +. I just redid it o normal, although you can do it on hard seeing as all your levels and materia carry over....but some of the latter missions are really trying

In short; no you don't need to restart OR worry about what materia yu have equipped, go with what suits you best

Excellent help, much appreciated.

I assume the slots for materia can be used depending on how you play. Whether it be Magic primarily (Use 4 slots for materia and the other 2 for Magic boost) or Physical 1 or 2 materia for Heal and Damage and the rest put on AP abilities and status boosts for VIT and HP.

Are there any guides for materia fusion? I read about it in one of the mail tutorials that the shinra soldier gives you at the beginning, but have no earthly idea how quite yet. I did notice a materia room, I would assume as I progress this is where I fuse, but not quite sure.

Also any suggestions on Materia preference starting out?

Anything will be noted.

Thanks again for the help.
