Good Morning!

I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy IX and recently I decided to do a few metal covers from the game. The most recent was the "Battle Theme" and I thought I would share it here, for anyone who might enjoy!

The battle music was really good! I think I really enjoyed your cover on A Place I'll Return to Someday the most though! Love the use of green screen over clips of the game by the way, really cool.

I don't have much else to add, I'm not very good at expressing myself when it comes to music despite really enjoying it. I hope you continue to work on more FF projects though :)

Hope you decide to stick around the forums, but if not thanks for sharing, a lot of us here really enjoy musical projects around Final Fantasy!

Hey! Glad you liked it. Rest assured I will sticking around, and got another Final Fantasy one coming up at the end of the month.
 
These are pretty awesome! I’ve only just managed to listen to them.

I definitely agree with Miko. Your version of A Place I'll Return to Someday is amazing! It’s close to how I’d have wanted The Black Mages to have done it if they’d ever attempted that track (back when they were a thing).

I hope you come back and share more some time! I sometimes wish I could play guitar and be awesome, but I’m thrilled that other people like yourself can.

Love the presentation style of the video too, btw. Showing relevant clips from the game at the same time as cutting / imposing clips of yourself playing is a great way of doing it.

I went ahead and merged your posts, we're just trying to keep things condensed and clean by pulling back on double-posting around here as much as possible 😌

I listened to your cover on Someday the Dream Will End! So far from what I hear it sounds amazing! I see you're still working on it from the Youtube description :-) I'll look forward to you posting on it when you consider it finished! So far you took a great song and practically made it better, so really looking forward to that.

Let us know when Yuna's Theme is up if someone hasn't commented on it by the time it Premieres!

Great work on both of them!

That's one excellent version of the Yuna theme, in particular. Truly, that is incredible. Probably my favourite of your tracks to date. Tidus midway through got me though . :D

Excellent! This is a very solid guitar version, and I absolutely love the climax. It makes me want to play the Remake all over again.
Your presentation style is also getting better and better, I find. The angles of the guitar shots and editing with the background footage, I mean.
 
Great performance! Melodies of Life sounds awesome in a rocky style (at least how you have arranged it). I love all of the attention that FFIX is getting lately, with the animated series in production, etc. Something like this would be wonderful as part of that!

Excellent use of the CGI clips in the background as well as getting good close-ups of your playing, as usual. This is especially nostalgic for me because one of my key memories of Melodies of Life is hearing it during the ending credits whilst clips from the game were shown, so this captures that feeling.
 
This track is certainly one of the great classic boss battle themes. Easily the best in FFX (in my opinion).

You've done another great job, really bringing out the prog-rocky elements of this track (which is essentially close to Nobuo's heart). I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Duuuuude... This is so great! What music are you into? I'm kinda a melodeath superfan, growing up with the Swedish and Finnish stuff in the 90s and 00s. Your style seems a bit more American heavy metal or symphonic? Trivium much? Nightwish/Epica/Kamelot much? Of course I could just be hearing FF9 more than you, but that was my guess.

Also, long shot, but where are you located? I'm a vocalist. Main technique is a raspy growlish scream a bit like Mikael Stanne but not nearly as good :) and I have a couple additional styles. My toddler daughter loves to request each one when she makes me sing Disney and whatnot.

Feel free to DM, however that works on this site, if you every just wanna talk metal. Keep 'em coming! 🤘
