For all your general game banter!

What did you like / not like about this game? Is there something in particular you hated? Something you really enjoyed? Something that made you want to throw the game out of the window? Tell us all about them here!

There's not much I hate about the game. You got a badass job system and three worlds to discover. Some classic weapons and armor and the final fatasy 1 way of learning spells. This game really does not get the attension it deserves.

I just wish monsters gave more ABP in world 1 & 2. World three is a leveling up god mod.

Yeah towards the end of the game when I wanted to level up for the Final Bosses and Secret Bosses, I found it taking forever to gain experience and job Skills points for my characters.

I loved the whole game though. The plot, the villain, the characters, Gilgamesh of course. So much that this game has to offer is magnificent for an Old School game that is often time overlooked because it has not been played by many. One of my favorites overall.

this is probably the most frustrating game Ive ever played, I hate the job system with a passion, far too many mage related jobs, I sooooo resented having to build them up, it made me die a little inside having more than one mage character in my party at any given time

I loved this game. Imagine being grounded for pretty much an entire school year and having nothing but a GBA and this game to play without your parents knowing. Whether I would have otherwise liked it or not, I had to love it. This game was fun in an otherwise dismal school year.

So when you have absolutely *nothing* else to do, this game is damn good. It's currently a favorite of mine, even though those times are well over.

This game is easily my favourite!
The story was great, the characters were memorable and had personality (you know the whole not emo spiel I got)

and the job system gave me a good challenge and new ways to play the game everytime

That's also why I wanted to go back and try to master all of my characters' jobs up, but that was going to take a helluva long time to do. I think on my playthrough, I only mastered maybe like 3 total jobs, and 2 were Warriors and one was a White Mage. Other than that, I have a long-ass time to go before I master too many more job classes in FFV.

I mastered all the jobs in the Advance version. Just train in the last area of the void where the enemies give you 30+ AP a battle. If you can beat the Movers in time then you will have no problem mastering the jobs.

Fighting the final boss with no Job Classes and winning was an amazing achievement.

I need about 150 more ABP to get Rapid Fire for Bartz and Krile, which already have Dual Wield. Faris already has both R.F. and D.W. since I had her as a Ranger for most of the game. And Lenna needs about 200 more ABP and she gets Doublecast. I have a lot to train, but fortunately I have an awesome strategy - I fight battles in Castle Bal Basement. 2 Objet d'arts give 4 ABP while 5 of them give 8. The trick? Level 5 Death OHKOs them.

I love FFV, but it's not exactly my favourite.

The gameplay is about as good as in the other games but I might be biased considering I like the job system. The script is good in the GBA version and I love how it parodies the series. The storytelling is great too, although most characters are pretty... lacking. ExDeath for example. Other than the tree gimmick, which is more silly than cool, he's pretty generic. On the other hand, some of them are likeable. Bartz is fun, Galuf is cool and Gilgamesh is the personification of awesome.

Oh, and the music is great. <3

Clash on the Big Bridge - I can't stop listening to that epic song. Up to how far I've gotten into the game right now, that's at the moment my favourite part.

I liked it okay though it's been forever since I played. The pirate with purple hair was my favorite character. Story wise it reminded me a lot of Final Fantasy I with the wind, earth, water and fire. It's not a big favorite but it's nothing I hate. Looking back I regret not buying that Playstation 1 rerelease that had V and VI together.

Got it a while ago but haven't played that much for some reasons, I'm about 25h into the game and still in the first world. I'm enjoying it though, despite not having a personal nostalgia factor. It's a pretty good game :)
