Famitsu.com has posted some of the screenshots that appeared in this week's Final Fantasy XIII feature in Weekly Famitsu. Have a look at the pics, along with translations of the site's captions, below. A few of the screens are Japanese versions of the screens Square Enix USA shared earlier in the week.

These are from Bilge Ruins. This area of Cocoon serves as a base of operations for researchers and the troops who protect them from monster attacks. The giant hand to the left is part of a giant named Atlas.

(Note: Famitsu did not specifically say if Bilge Ruins is a "town," which is one of the new features everyone is looking forward to in XIII-2.)

These shots show Noel and Serah as they arrive at Bilge Ruins (same as above, the shot at the top is from earlier in the week). They end up being surrounded by troops who Famitsu says are tasked with protecting Cocoon. Famitsu's caption points out the Moogle with Serah.

The battle screen at the top shows the "Buster and Jam" Paradigm, which combines Blaster and Jammer types. The one below shows Dual Shield, where both are Defenders, making "counter" their only attack means.

Finally, what happens when the members of Nora meet Noel and get all pissed off at how his name resembles theirs. Actually, the real reason they're angry at Noel is because he said something to them, something that he apparently said would be difficult for them to accept. So what did Noel say?

You weren't expecting the answer, were you?

This means that it's very likely that Noel is not another Vaan in terms of role. Maybe he is more like Zidane and Tidus, who don't really have a significant role in the early story, until it's revealed much later how they play such important parts. Another evidence is the "give me a chance and I'll prove it's true" line, in the older screenshot.

He also serves as a medium for players to get to know the FFXIII world, as said in one of the interviews. Maybe something like Tidus.

I wonder what is he trying to prove? Gadot looks angry. Could be something offensive and unbelievable. In the E3 trailer, he also mentions "a future where everyone lives" as his mission. Serah also saw him in her dreams. I am just speculating, but he is probably a time traveller from the future, warning everyone about the grim future where many people will die. He could even be Snow and Serah's Son, or a close relative? I get a strong dragonball (Future Trunks) vibe from this game. As much as I like time travel/alternate dimension stories, hopefully FFXIII-2' story iwill not be an obvious rip-off of Dragonball, intentionally or unintentionally.

Although I have seen the E3 demo, the Bresha Ruins screenshot with NPCs (along with speech bubbles) really is interesting, the fact that towns will most likely return. Notice how it's bright and sunny in the screenshot, while it's rainy and dark in the E3 demo. I love weather changes.

Oh I hope they keep giving away bits of information/screenshots every few days or so. It keeps me excited and happy.
