Final Fantasy 10 - An adventure in Spira

I'm a bit late getting to read this properly.

A nicely balanced review!

The linearity of Spira was a main criticism I had of this game too, but at least this game was able to mask it with the pilgrimage aspect of the story. That said, any realistic planet would still have multiple roads even if one was the right route for the pilgrimage. In Spira it seemed as if the only roads were the pilgrimage roads at times. I didn't get a very good sense of the other paths people could take. They even put forward the idea that other summoners preferred different routes and going to different temples, we only really got a sense of that near the Calm Lands where there were optional temples. Even these were only slight diversions from the main track.

Overall, I found Spira to be a delightfully colourful world with abundant character.
