Pokémon GO

I've been finding Craby's no where near water so maybe not 100% accurate.

Bad signal? Or not enough landmarks / streets / etc to be picked up by the GPS etc? I guess it depends on how rural you are.

I'm sure you'll have plenty of these to catch if you could play:

I know that Greeny will pocket a few of these:

I wonder how accurately the positioning is of these 'types'. I know we're meant to get water Pokemon near bodies of water, etc. And I know a number of people have had Rattatas spawning in McDonalds...
Up a mountain near cow farms rural, as in you have to travel an hour to get to walmart rural :wacky: i'm just seeing a lot of rural living people complain that there isn't any pokemon for areas like this

Yeah, found Magikarp on my way to the mailbox after work today. No water nearby. :lew:

On a side note, Pokemon GO is going to overtake Twitter as far as daily active users? :O I'm not sure if that's for both Android and iOS, but still. Do we think that's a good, bad, and/or expected thing?

It's incredible how this game caught the attention of so many people in the world. This game has been so successful that it broke the record for most sold in a short period of time. It also has rised the shares of Nintendo by 86% to $17 billion dollars in market value in the past week. That is extremely huge for Nintendo and It still hasn't been released in other countries like Spain, Italy, etc, yet. This is one of the biggest and most played game in the current gaming community at the moment.

This Pokemon Go phenomenon going on right now is seriously fucking legendary. I literally have no words to describe how insanely successful this game is. What a time to be alive!

I'm curious, for other players on here, have you caught any rare ones?

For example, Pikachu was a rare one for me. Caught it about an hour after downloading the game, and I haven't seen the critter since. Must've just been lucky, I guess. :lew: Now I just find a bunch of Rattatas around.

I got a bunch of Rattatta's around here... and Weedle... and Pidgy... Eevee is common around my area too, already got all three Eevee evolutions thanks to that! the rarest I caught was Charmander and Squirlte... There is an Abra around me somewhere around here but can never find him!

Haven't gotten any starters at all, almost saw a squirtle however. Been getting loads of eevee's and seem to be finding clefairy and jigglypuff a lot now as well. Also got an abra myself.

Do you have Pikachu? Because when you started the game you should have gotten a starter to choose from, heard if you didn't get one of those three you can get Pikachu somehow....

But I got a question for everyone, when you are throwing the pokeballs, do you wait until the circle is really small or big? I seen people saying both ways that one is better than the other, so just curious what eveyone on here thinks.

My touch screen was acting up so I didn't get to choose for w/e reason it gave me a bulbasaur. However I did read that if you don't touch any of those starters for the first 3x they appear the fourth time they bring pikachu with them. As for throwing the pokeballs I wait untill the circle is small.

Meowth is my elusive one at the moment! There's one in the area, but it's such a sneaky little SOB. :lew:

I don't think I've come across an Abra, though. Which is weird. I think it's one of the more common of them to catch. :|

I woke up the other day with 200+ messages in my group chat with my cousins/siblings, talking about Pokémon Go. I told them to be careful, etc. I was met with, "You don't understand...this isn't just a game...this is...life" and "Yeah we'll be safe, don't worry...but Ash was like 10 and traveled all over the world..." They're out of control.

My brother's walking into random areas, taking snapshots, and I had to call him out on it. I get the whole 'fun' concept, but c'mon...a little common sense. My cousin even asked us for Disneyland tickets (unfortunately for her we had cut off our Disneyland hook-ups with my husband's brother-in-law) so she can catch a pokémon there.

The hell happened to society this past week?

Ate, there are PokéStops all over Disney! We should go and I'll teach you how to have fun!! :yay:

On the bright side, it is bringing people outside and socializing with one another. I have met quite a few interesting and chill people going out and about looking for Pokemons in new parks, dams, and downtown in general.

I'm currently level 20 (highest of the legit cousins:hmmm:) and have found over 80 Pokemons, over 10 new ones since coming to Cali yesterday. :cookie: My strongest Pokemon is a 1600 Charrizard! And I also have a 1500 Vaporeon. :-)

So, I hear there are a lot of PokéStops around beaches, when are we going? :cookie:

I find this game very interesting. So I feel like sharing it here.
Looked at their fan page, I think they're on SEA launch and Global release is upcoming. If any of you feel like playing this game too, come, their pre-reg is still open. https://goo.gl/QmCKwk

A new holiday event was announced for Pokemon Go. This time players will be able to earn bonuses, hatch Eggs more easily, and even encounter more Pokemon originally from the Sinnoh region. The third annual winter event begins on Tuesday, December 18, and once again, it brings back the festive hat-wearing Pikachu for a limited time. On top of that, Niantic says that more Ice-type and Gen 4 Pokemon will appear during the event; the promotional image the developer shared features Snover and its evolution Abomasnow, along with Munchlax, Chingling, and Croagunk. The image also features three Legendary Pokemon from the Sinnoh region--Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit--suggesting the trio will make their debut in Pokemon Go soon. On top of that, Niantic says the rare Ice Pokemon Delibird will also be available during the winter event, as will its Shiny variant.

Along with the new Pokemon, Niantic will offer a number of bonuses throughout the event. These will be meted out every few days. From December 18-22, players will earn twice as much Candy for catching and transferring Pokemon; from December 22-26, they'll receive twice the usual amount of Stardust for catching monsters; from December 26-30, players will get double catch XP; and from December 30 to the end of the event on January 2, Incubators will be twice as effective as normal.

Rounding out the bonuses, Niantic is giving players one Incubator each day when they spin their first Photo Disc. The developer also says that more types of Pokemon will be able to hatch from 7 km Eggs, and players will have a better chance of hatching monsters like Smoochum and Azurill.

Before the holiday festivities begin in Pokemon Go, Niantic will host a Special Raid Weekend Event from December 14-17. During that time, Ho-Oh and Lugia will reappear in Raid Battles at Gyms. Players will also have a chance to encounter their Shiny forms.

Two Pokemon Go Legendaries Back Again This Weekend [Last Chance]

pokemon.jpg

Two Legendary Pokemon have returned to Pokemon Go for a very limited time. Niantic has brought the cover monsters from Pokemon Gold and Silver, Ho-Oh and Lugia, back to the mobile game as part of a special Raid weekend event, which kicked off this Friday, December 14, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET. [Update: Ho-Oh and Lugia are scheduled to leave Raid Battles again today, December 17, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, making this your last chance to catch them.]

All through the weekend, players will be able to encounter the two Johto Legendaries once again as Raid Battles at Gyms. Moreover, Niantic says that Shiny variants of the two Pokemon will also have a chance of appearing. The Legendaries will be available until Monday, December 17, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET.

Ho-Oh and Lugia aren't the only Legendaries appearing again in Pokemon Go. As part of December's Field Research, players have another chance to capture Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, or Suicune. Each time they achieve a Research Breakthrough this month, they'll be rewarded with another encounter with one of the six aforementioned Legendaries.

Meanwhile, Pokemon Go's latest Gen 4 Legendary, Cresselia, is set to leave the game soon. The Psychic Pokemon will only appear in Raid Battles until December 18, making this your last opportunity to capture one if you haven't already.

Niantic recently rolled out a new update for Pokemon Go, introducing the newly announced PvP Trainer Battle System to the game. Now, all Pokemon Go users who have reached at least level 10 can challenge other players directly to three-on-three Pokemon battles. You can learn more about the new feature in our Pokemon Go PvP Guide.

Pokemon Go Legendary Cresselia Leaving Raid Battles Today

legendary-cresselia.jpg

Pokemon Go's newest Legendary Pokemon, Cresselia, has been a regular sight in Raid Battles since last month, but it won't be available in the game for much longer. The Lunar Pokemon is scheduled to leave Raids today, December 18, at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET, making this your last opportunity to catch one for the time being.

Just as with most other Legendaries in Pokemon Go, Cresselia will spawn at certain Gyms. To catch one, you'll first need to head to a Gym where a Cresselia Raid is taking place and then team up with other players in-person to battle it. If you manage to successfully bring Cresselia down, you'll be rewarded with a handful of Premier Balls; you can then use these to try to capture it.

Cresselia is a pure Psychic-type Pokemon, making it vulnerable to Bug-, Ghost-, and Dark-types. It's also got high HP and defense stats, so you'll want to bring along Pokemon like Tyranitar, Houndoom, Scizor, and Giratina--if you managed to capture one before it left Raid Battles earlier this fall--for your best chance to defeat it.

Cresselia is the second Gen 4 Legendary to appear in Pokemon Go, following the aforementioned Giratina, which initially arrived as part of this year's Halloween Event. Niantic hasn't announced when another new Legendary will debut in the game, but given how frequently the developer has been introducing them this year, we likely won't have to wait long until another Legendary Pokemon appears.

In the meantime, you have another chance to capture some previous Legendaries thanks to December's Field Research. Each time you achieve a Research Breakthrough this month, you'll earn another encounter with one of six Legendaries: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, or Suicune. Niantic has also improved the effect of the Mystery Box, making it easier to find the new Mythical Pokemon Meltan in the wild.

In other Pokemon Go news, the game's PvP Trainer Battle System has finally arrived. Users level 10 and up can now challenge other Pokemon Go players to three-on-three battles.

Pokemon Go Adding New Form Of The Mythical Deoxys This Week

exraid-deoxys.jpg

The Mythical Psychic Pokemon Deoxys made its debut in Pokemon Go. earlier this year as the game's second EX Raid boss, replacing Mewtwo. Up until now, the DNA Pokemon has only appeared in the mobile game in its Normal Forme, but a new variant of the Pokemon is set to arrive soon.

Developer Niantic has announced that Attack Forme Deoxys will be available in EX Raids later this month. Along with taking on a different appearance, Attack Forme Deoxys has a much higher attack stat than its standard form, and Niantic warns that it will be a "difficult challenge that requires Trainers to take advantage of every opportunity."

The new form of Deoxys is set to arrive with the next cycle of EX Raid invites, which are scheduled to go out beginning December 20. Unlike standard Raid Battles, you can only participate in EX Raids if you've received an invitation. In order to get one, you'll first need to have recently won a Raid Battle at a "qualifying" Gym. These are denoted by an EX Raid tag in the upper righthand corner when you look at the Gym's details.

In the meantime, players still have a little more time to catch Pokemon Go's latest Legendary, Cresselia. The Psychic Pokemon is scheduled to leave standard Raid Battles on December 18, just before Attack Forme Deoxys is set to arrive in EX Raids. Niantic hasn't announced when the game's next Legendary Pokemon will arrive, although the developer has teased that Azelf, Uxie, and Mesprit--three more Legendaries originally from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl--are on the way.

Pokemon Go's annual Holiday Celebration is also set to return again soon. This year's event kicks off on December 18 and will introduce another handful of Gen 4 Pokemon, including Snorlax's pre-evolved form, Munchlax, as well as Snover, Abomasnow, and Croagunk. Festive hat Pikachu and Delibird will also return, and different bonuses will be meted out throughout the event until it ends on January 2.
