Tales of Berseria was on sale and I couldn't help it :8F:
been playing it for two days but so far it's way better than Zesteria, as good as Xillia 1 maybe
nothing will top tales of the abyss though :P

Mass Effect 1 & 2

My biennial replays of the Mass Effect trilogy continue! I just wrapped up the very first Mass Effect installment and have just started the second one. I've elected to go down the paragon route this time for the sake of it, but to the surprise of absolutely no one, I don't particularly find the overly virtuous and empathetic responses to be very fun in comparison to the more asshole-ish, frank, honest and dismissive quips of the renegade options. This means I've saved the Council, spared the Rachni Queen and haven't planted a few bullet holes into Wrex's cranium this time.

As for the sequel...okay, I still have major qualms with the loss of the planet exploration feature of the first game and its replacement with boring planet scanning. The first Mass Effect suffered from barren terrains, wonky Mako controls and physics and copy and paste interior environments, but that thrill of standing on a hostile space rock peering from a cliff face across the horizon to see a ferocious red giant take up the majority of an eerie dark crimson skybox warranted the price of admission alone. That said, I still think Mass Effect 2 is the best one of the lot. Sure, it removes the feeling of wandering into untamed unknowns in favour of certain setpiece planet levels, but the sheer variety and quality of missions (namely the character loyalty ones) and the fact it has the largest cast of playable allies all come together to more than make up for the change.

Trails of Cold Steel 1

Both 1 and 2 were both cheap and their file sizes were compact enough that I could safely digitally download and install them without having to wait until the heat death of the universe before I could play.

From the very outset, anime tropes eeeeeeeverywhere. One girl lands on the main protagonist and his face just so happens to be accidentally buried in her rather wholesome bosoms. Girl reacts with the grace of a nun who has just heard a bishop say something inappropriate and slaps the main protagonist before spending the next few hours or so of the game acting all tsun tsun. Also, it's essentially high school, which means dick professors, an alcohol-loving homeroom teacher, a snooty, standoffish nobleman's scion, the dopey schoolgirl who acts like a cat, the somewhat naive main character, the rubbish take on Persona's social links, obvious fat shaming played out for laughs, sexy leather-clad rebel biker girl, cute, demure schoolgirl who is actually someone of great authority in the school, blue-haired female classmate somehow able to wield a giant greatsword that can almost match Cloud's Buster Sword...

The list goes on.

Actually, it's not too bad, albeit it's as slow as molasses. I never thought I would be running around the town and campus aiming to talk to all the NPCs as their dialogue boxes always regularly change. It effectively builds the impression that these are people with actual routines and character developments of their own, as opposed to the static dummies of most other JRPGs you come across. Towns therefore feel as alive as you can get for a game that was made with the PSVita in mind.

The combat isn't bad either. It's certainly a neat way to make turn-based combat interesting and genuinely strategic. Paying close attention to turn wait times and how to manipulate turn orders is interesting, as is being able to plant exactly where your AoE attacks land and how you can hit as many targets as possible. If there's one thing I'm worried about for later is how I'm going to manage to keep AoE heals and buffs up if my party members have a habit of moving around and away from each other and when there are bosses that like to use nasty AoE attacks of their own...

Well, quite a few things!

FFXIV: Trying to clear God of Magic Kefka (O8S) I'm getting close so I hope it is this week. I'm still decorating my house in game and thinking of design ideas.

Dissidia Opera Omnia: My casual time waster. I am currently setting it to auto battle sometimes but I'm grinding co op as well. Terra's 35cp weapon banner is coming soon and I have amassed about 45k gems for it and 100 single use event tickets. I dont think i'm ready to beat the level 90 content in the Lost chapters hard mode but I've been trying. It's super stressing D:

Monster Hunter: World: Doing tempered investigations and thinking of more builds for my weapons but not a priority.

Nier Automata: Trying to finish it but keep getting carried away by other games.

Street Fighter V: Trying to get good with the new character Falke and to win some matches but she's quite awful.

Two games right now! Well kinda. Been playing through the Halo series on and off for a few months now (the master chief collection on Xbox One has the entire saga remastered etc and you can play them back to back like they were the one game). I don't think I will ever get bored of Bungie's original trilogy. Oh how far the mighty have fallen (Destiny *cough*)

And of course XIV. I recently accepted an offer to do Ultima Weapon Ultimate with the same group that I cleared Ultimate Coil with. Which sounds insane (honestly I'm not even entirely convinced I want to) but it's fun so far. So that's nice.

Slogging away through Final Fantasy XII. After getting arse handed to me in Giruvegan (Giruvagan?) Decided to do the hunts instead.
Within a day my rank has gone from "Moppet" to the one after "Ward Of Justice".
Having them at level 43 is ok for Giruvegan Giruvagan right?

Always amusing to see a DB thread still alive and kicking.

Anyways, Assassin's Creed IV is what I'm working on now. Yup, still a few years behind. I'm already like 38% through and I've only been playing for a few weeks. It took my over a year to conquer ACIII. Wife, kids and house. Who has time to play games anyways? I try, but it's not easy.

It's taken a while, but fittingly enough, I'm now working on FFXV. I'm still really early in the game, and still trying to find my swagger with the battle system. I think I'm getting better with it, but magic still eludes me a bit (and it's just really limited, so it has to be used sparingly). The whole day time/night time thing is fine, but it's like I wake up and start the day, run around for like 10 minutes and it's night and I have to go to bed. It really kills the flow and momentum. I suppose once I can own the night time creatures, it won't matter at all if I'm working on something. But it's been okay so far. We'll see how it goes.

I am currently playing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. I have already spend 9 hours on this game going through the tutorials, clearing some quests, mining ores and gathering items. I am currently farming for upgrading my weapon and armor. I will take my time to rank up and go through the quest to enjoy the game to the fullest.

CoD: WW2 - It's just so easy to throw this on for a couple of hours. TDM only :p.

Dragon Quest 9 - I want to play this before DQ11 comes out, but having said that Amazon finally got more copies of Octopath Traveler in stock, so that'll be first. Anyways, DQ9 has that bad aspect of making your own characters so they have no personality. Having said that, it's a classic JRPG so it's good fun to play through. The humour is top notch as always too :).

Yakuza 0 - I can see why this is getting so much hype, since some of the cutscenes are amazing, but I just find the pacing too slow. I'm hoping it picks up soon (I think I'm at the end of chapter 5?).

Resi 4 - Once again, I'm playing through Resi 4 (one of my favourite games). I'm skipping the cutscenes this time though since I'm only playing it out of boredom and want a bit of gameplay lol.

Shenmue 2... but on my Xbox 360 - The Xbox Re-release IS backwards compatible and is superior to the new HD port due to the full screen experience - the new HD port has cutscenes in 4:3 & Letterboxing... which is just too much.

After that I already have Yakuza: Kiwami 2 to jump into :)

I'm playing way too many things at once right now.

In my leisure time:
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 DLC - I'm six hours in and it managed to capture me the same way the main game did. The battle system feels even more dynamic than in the main game which is great.
Phoenix Wright Trilogy - I felt like restarting the first three games again, since I've never beaten them before, just watched playthroughs on YouTube a while back. Finished the first tutorial case last night.

Let's Playing on YouTube:
Pokémon FireRed Omega Nuzlocke - a Nuzlocke challenge means that whenever a Pokémon faints, it's considered dead and can't be used anymore. It's also a hack of FireRed which adds in quite a bit of difficulty. Almost finished.
Donkey Kong Country 3 - a playthrough in which I want to find out if DKC3 holds up today, as it's considered the black sheep of the series, but also my favourite DKC game. Around two thirds done.
World Of Final Fantasy - a game I simply felt like replaying while commentating over it. Only started this recently.

Currently playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I beat the game, but got the season pass and beat the Legacy of the First Blade, too. I've almost clocked in at 100 hours of that game between the main installment and the DLC. Really cannot wait for the new one to come in the spring.

WoFF Maxima on the Switch and Overwatch constantly on the PS4 (I'm terrible at it)

I only got a PS4 a few months ago so only have a small library as of yet. Since getting it I've finished Grand Theft Auto V and the first game in the latest Tomb Raider line.

Currently I am mainly playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, with Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited Trilogy being swapped in for the occasional nostalgic stop-gap. I also have Red Dead Redemption 2 on the go but not amazingly far into it yet. I'll play it more once I've cleared RotTR.

I've also got Assassins Creed: Odyssey and Final Fantasy XV. Haven't really touched AC:O as of yet. Haven't progressed much with FFXV either but that is more due to not feeling much for the game so have decided to put it on the back burner.

The Evil Within 2 hasn't even been unwrapped yet. :wacky:

I was playing Onimusha: Warlords - Remastered Last night, but suddenly fell through a pit and died without saving... may continue it as I did like it up till that point. But I am tempted to bust of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep and pay as Aqua again..
