Amen. Now is that 5 days of their online time or 5 days from their join time? For instance I have been here for 45 days but I've only spent 1 week, 4 days, and 12 minutes online.

i would say 2 days of their online time - that should be enough to judge them by because 5 days is too short and 5 days of online time is an absurd amount of time i only have 2 weeks something and ive been a member for 5 months?
and maybe we could still have people to be buddies - or general FF helpers - so that anyone - not just noobs can PM them when they dont know where to put a thread and such.

*claps hands* Set it up! Include Forum #5 since it's the intro forum... and then just everything under the Main Series blanket. So that's Forum #5 and everything from Forum #8 to Forum #21.

See just to finalise it - the idea is we only open the first two sections of the forum to them - 7th heaven inn and all that jazz and FF1-13? and there will be general helpers of FFF - for noobs and experienced players alike?
if so someone (buy that i mean you aztec ) type it all up and make it sound really intelligent and send it to an admin
And these General Helpers names should be in purple - dark purple XD just because Purple pwns...yet it is used nowhere on these forums

Well i stole my media teachers nickname XD (horrible cow though she is) because im told i get quite bossy sometimes XD
so who do you think the general helpers should be?
if we got chance to i'd nominate Aztec, Mitsuki, and Rydia.
now that leads to another question - should the admins pick the "general helpers" or should the members vote on it?

Your welcome.
As for Aztec's idea, it'd work great I think. I'm not sure if he's brought it up yet as I was focused on mainly the initial post and then banning this Lemmingeton putz, but I'll say it now anyway.
We were part of a forum a few years back where you had to get I think it was only like 25 posts or so to gain access to the Forum General discussion threads and let them focus mainly on the Intro forum and the FF main site. It worked out great and it let the newbie's get mroe aquainted with the site and meet some people gradually before they ventured deeper out.
If we can give it a try, I think it'd limit spam, questions, and definitely confusion overall.

Well there would still be questions but instead of flooding threads with them they could ask a general helper person instead - and besides ive noticed that when most people spam its not in any of the main FFs - so if we limit them to the main FFs for about 25-50 posts then theyd have less of a range to spam in and would be caught more quickly and efficiently.

Wow, you lot seem incredibly definite on this idea, yet nothing has been set in stone, and already you're giving suggestions as to who would be a helper? I personally don't like the idea of herding people, restricting their access. If I was a lost member, I'd PM a moderator for guidance. I'd tell them what problems I had. If I joined to find my access limited because people thought I was just a newbie, I'd leave. Not to just stick them with few sections to look around in. There's nothing wrong with a general PM, to see how a member is coping. Never have I been on a forum, in all 5/6 years, where I've seen such a system implemented. Not too keen on specific helpers either. The | | | |
