MRS CHRONICLES
The Defender's Guild

Chapter 1 – The Passing

In a quiet town of Ronoca, in the land of Katwan, lived a mixture of races, from the intellectual Felon, with fur covering every inch of their bodies and their sharp, narrow eyes, to the Huma, the race with fair smooth skin and wide eyes, not to mention the button like noses.

One day a young Huma girl, with long and wavy brown hair that blew in the cool winds of Ronoca was walking to a tall building in a busy neighbourhood, as she looked at the building, the sun was shining in her eyes, her eyes looked like water, a cool blue, and she bore a distinctive mark in one of those pools of blue, like a very small green star. As she entered the building a taller looking girl, with short blonde hair, big round blue eyes, and a very annoyed look on her face walked towards her.

“Where have you been?” asked the older girl, sounding disappointed,
“I was busy running errands dear sister, surely you know that I am working for more than one person.” replied the younger Huma, with a humorous look on her face.
“Well mother has been expecting you, she was crying in her sleep again, shouting your name and she kept repeating the word Xantius.” replied the sister, not impressed with the girl's attitude.
“Xantius?” replied the young girl, shock in her expression, and before the older sister could reply, the young girl ran up the flight of stairs into a cold room. In the cold room was only a bed, and led in the bed was a woman, her face twisting itself, showing expressions of pain, as the young girl entered the room the woman slowly opened her eyes.

“Mother?” said the girl, hoping to get a reply.
“Morica,” replied Mother, “Morica, it's time.”
“What do you mean 'it's time'? Mother I don't understand.”
“Xantius, he is coming for you, and I am not able to protect you any more, your sister does not have the power to protect you either, and my time is almost up”
“Mother don't say that, please! Don't give up now!” at this point Morica was starting to cry.

“My darling daughter, you have a unique power, only you can use it Morica, others will try to use it for evil deeds, Xantius will use it for evil deeds, you must not allow that to happen,” and with the little energy she had left, she reached for a locket that was placed at the side of her bed and placed it in Morica's hands.

“This will harness your power Morica, take it to Agent S of the Defender's Guild, he will be able to help you.”
“Mother...” sobbed Morica, tears rolling town her lily white cheeks
“Protect Gracia and protect this planet, my child. I will always watch over you, my two wonderful daughters, I....love....you...”

And as mother sighed her last breath, Morica screamed so loud that everyone walking around the other side of town turned to see what was going on, Gracia ran up the stairs to Morica and held her, the pair of them crying.

....

Weeks had passed after the farewell ceremony, Morica was finally ready. But there was one last thing she needed to do – talk to her sister.

Gracia at this point however could not speak a word, since the passing of her mother she remained mute, only using gestures and notes to communicate with Morica, she refused to speak to anyone else.

“Gracia will you be alright while I'm gone? I know it hasn't been long since Mother's passing, but this is something I have to do,” the pair sat on the floor in front of the fire place, where light emitting from the flames reflected onto the girls faces.

“Mother was murdered Gracia, Xantius murdered her, he gave her the illness when he killed father, so now I have to stop him, before he kills anyone else.” Gracia started jotting in her note pad, then she passed over the pad to Morica.
“I understand sister, I have something for you.”
Gracia rose up to stand and started walking towards a tall wardrobe, in the wardrobe was a black case, in the shape of a weapon of some sort, she picked up the case and walked back to the spot where Morica was sat, she then placed the case in Morica's hands.

“Is this father's sword?” Morica asked, Gracia nodded, looking in awe at the object, Morica moved her hand up to the handle and pulled the sword out of the case, she then got up to her feet and started swinging the blade recklessly.

“Hey Grace, remember our sword fights on the beach when we were kids? Those were fun times, we just got pieces of wood and started playing, father used to laugh and mother used to say to you, 'Gracia be careful with your sister won't you?'”

Gracia was looking down at the floor, reminiscing in her mind, until she heard the sword drop to the floor, she then looked up to see Morica following the sword, bursting into tears, Gracia wrapped her arms around her, but Gracia did not cry, she had no words, and no emotion, she was bearing the scars of her shattered family on the inside.

The following day Morica was standing at the door to the house turning to Gracia, she said “I have to go now sister, see you soon.”

Morica now was travelling to the village of Yamara, Where the Defender's Guild was secretly located
