Final Fantasy VIII: A New Awakening

I did not want to bother Lady Aerith, so this is the current character list for the moment, I will post the first chapter in the near future, we are on Christmas break so probably tommorow or saturday.

This is an original of VIII, mixing the old and new for a new story, which may change the characters forever.

Galoko Izamaku: (yes this is named after me.)
Somewhat of an enigma, he wakes with no memory under a large pile of rubble near Lunatic Pandora when it fell. He is a Lupox, or a Wylvian in other words. Which is very rare, and his size (7"2) and figure tends to earn him a few stares.

Rinoa Leonhart:
A sorceress who was once part of a rebel faction to liberate Timber from the Galbadian control. About 2 years after the ordeal with Ultimecia, she married Squall Leonhart and lives in the dorms with him while he is maintaining Balamb Garden. She spends alot of time with Galoko, trying to help him regain his memories

Squall Leonhart:
A gunblade specialist who helped to defeat Ultimecia. He married Rinoa and struggles to become stronger to protect her. He is a SeeD and the Headmaster of Balamb Garden, who lives in the dorms with his wife. He sees Galoko almost like a brother, and tries to assist him.

Taki Nomaru:
He is a 36 year old teacher. Quite strict at all times, he took up the role as Galoko's tutor and partner. He never really opens up to anyone, other than Quistis. It appears he has a major crush on her. His main weapons are usually katanas.

Other appearances: Selphie, Irvine, Zell, Edea, Quistis, Zone, Watts, Laguna, Kiros, Ward, Seifer, Raijin, Fuujin, Cid and others.

Prologue:
2 Years after the Sorceress Battle with Ultimecia, Squall Leonhart and his friends returned to their own time and had an all-day party in Balamb. The Heroine of the team Rinoa Heartilly managed to find her way into Squalls bleeding heart, and is helping him heal. The leftover magic from the battle is starting to reform, and take shape. Meanwhile, Lunatic Pandora still clumsily hovers over Tears Point and falls. The Wylvian Galoko was caught in the blast and awakens to find the young Squall and Rinoa Leonhart at his side.

Upon meeting them, he is immediately taken to Balamb Garden and inducted in the SeeD program. He learns the value of teamwork, friendship, love, and courage. Squall's company tries to assist the wolf in his endeavors and find themselves caught up in a battle that will push them to their very limit, and take them to the end of the Earth. At the same time, Galoko must fight another battle to restore everything he had lost from the accident.

Chapter 1: Rise and Fall (Here goes)

It was summer and the Esthar sun seemed to be glowing overhead of Galoko, a Wylvian with a large figure, grey and black fur, and acid yellow eyes. His journey led him to this historical place the Humans called Lunatic Pandora, the place where the sorceress Adel was destroyed and where the Humans destroyed a very powerful sorceress in the future. A sudden siren rang out, almost like a warning signal and the monument started to crumble. Galoko tries to escape, but a fragment of the monument pins his legs down and the rest collapsed on top of him, severely wounding him and knocking him out.

In Balamb Garden, the last period school bell rang out and the children bustled to and from their classrooms. Squall Leonhart sighed, this headmaster job was harder than it looked. The paperwork, dealing with juvenile deliquents, and the constant harrassing of the Garden Committee. He laid in bed, and his wife Rinoa laid down next to him "Hard Day?" she smiled and stroked his cheek. He just groaned, indicating he didn't want to talk about it.

"Hey, Squall, how about we go out? There aren't any more issues or classes for the rest of the day." Rinoa said with a pleading tone.

Squall got up in bed, and went out of the dorm. He looked over at his wife and noticed a worried expression. 'Rinoa? I have never seen her like this.' "Whats wrong?"

Rinoa stopped walking, she knew she couldn't keep ANYTHING from Squall. "Lunatic Pandora.. I just got news that it fell, and.. something seems to be calling me there.."

Galoko awoke, the rubble had completely pinned him to the ground and he was bleeding profusely. He wiggled as much as he could and managed to get his leg free, but to no avail, the leg was almost completely twisted and hurt when he tried to move it. He wiggled his other leg free and pushed the rest of the rubble off and slowly got up. His vision was hazy and he leaned against the fragment. From his observations, he cracked both ribs, broke and twisted his right leg, broke his right wrist, and the side of his face was bleeding. A Jelleye came up near him. "No.."

The married couple took the dragon ship Ragnarok and headed towards Tears Point the very place where Lunatic Pandora fell. They landed to find a severely injured creature being attacked by several Fira and Thundara spells. Squall ran out and slashed it with his gunblade, he pressed the trigger and a bullet shot against the metallic part of the blade, creating a very large explosion. "Hey, are you alright?" he went over to the creature, who's vision was beginning to fade. Squall shook the creature to wake him up "Rinoa, call Dr Kadowaki! Nida, be prepared to take off to Balamb Garden!"

Squall slung him over his shoulder, slightly wincing. The creature weighed at least a little over two hundred pounds. They rushed towards the Garden and into the medical ward. ''What kind of creature is this?" Doctor Kadowaki inquired. She administered some X-Potions, and some Curaga spells. "There, he should recover, just let him rest for now." Squall and Rinoa gave long breaths of relief, knowing that the creature was going to recover, and they could find out what it was, and WHO it was.

"Well, the question is, will it ever wake up?"

I think you're doing very well for the first try! There is a few things I'd like to give you some critique on. I will be as gentle as possible so please please don't take it the wrong way. I only want to help

Change this: Galoko tries to escape, but a fragment of it pins his legs down and the rest collapsed on top of him. Severely wounding him and knocking him out.

to this: Galoko tried to escape, but a fragment of the fallen monument had pinned his legs down and the rest collapsed on top of him, severely wounding him and knocking him out.

(add a few extra words to really spark up the moment and give that particular scene extra action. Also, try describing the clothing the characters are wearing as well as facial expressions. It gives your readers something more to visualize when reading. Be sure not to use run-on sentences and know where to put commas and periods properly. )

Other than that, it's very good! I can't wait to read more

I'm quite anxious to find out how Squall and Rinoa's marriage as blossomed over 2 years as well

Well, here goes..

Chapter 2: Balamb Garden

Galoko woke slowly, his body was still in so much pain, but he felt better than he did when the Jelleye attacked. "Oh good, your awake." a creaky voice said; Galoko looked over and he made out a figure in a white coat, an old face with brown eyes, and wrinkles all over her face. "Where..am I," Galoko asked and he put a paw on his forehead and added "And..WHO am I?" the doctors wrinkled forehead knitted down and she gave a worried expression.

"I see. The blows you took must have given you amnesia, do you remember your name?" the doctor asked encouragingly.

"My name is.. G-G--" Trying to remember his own name gave Galoko an even bigger headache. "Galoko..I-Izama..ku."

Kadowaki nodded in approval and helped him sit up in the bed. "Try not to move to much Galoko, your still recovering." Never-the-less he stood up, groping the ornaments to steady himself. The wylvian managed to make it to the door with the doctors help, and she set him in a wheelchair. The wheelchair bent with his weight and the doctor pedaled him to the cafeteria for food. When they arrived, the first thing that happened was a blonde haired man in denim jeans and a black and red shirt jumped up "HELL YEAH! I WIN AGAIN! A deals a deal, Irvine! I get all your hotdogs!" He sat back down and started scarfing down the food.

"Aw, come on now, playing for hotdogs, Zell? Thats just wrong." The man next to him said. The man looked more like a western person with a cowboy hat and a yellow overcoat, and brown hair to match. Both men looked over in Galoko's direction "Wow, so Squall and Rinoa were right. Pleased to meet you, I'm Irvine Kinneas, and this pig right here is Zell Dincht." Irvine said, earning a dirty look from Zell. The blonde haired man sat up and shook Galoko's hand. When Zell turned away, Galoko whiped his greasy hand on his pants.

"Want to play again, Irvine? I'll play ya for your tacos!" Zell said, with a confident smirk on his face. "I'll pass." the sharpshooter said simply and ate the last of his food. When Galoko was done eating, Doctor Kadowaki wheeled him back to the infirmary and gave him some medicine. "Balamb Garden." she said, seeming to read Galoko's thoughts. "A place where they train SeeDs to fight in the army." The wylvian nodded tiredly and fell asleep.

Several hours passed and Galoko woke up, Doctor Kadowaki had left. He got up and out of bed and went out the door, unable to resist the curiosity of looking around the building. He walked around and saw the Garden Commitee guarding each entrance except the dorms and the training center. The whole place was absolutely magnificent, the whole Garden seemed to teem with life, but the committee kept telling him to go back to his quarters.

Galoko completely ignored them and looked around, he went into the dormitries and looked around. It seemed the high level SeeDs got one-room dorms and the students get double dorms. For the rest of the night, he roamed around the Garden, then proceeded to the Infirmary and sat up in bed 'This place is amazing, but.. why does it suddenly feel so empty and obsolete?' he tossed and turned until he finally got into a comfortable position and fell asleep.

(Its not as long as some chapters, but it will suffice.)
