I've been told by people that I'm a good writer, but that my largest problem is that I'm just too damn lazy to actually get around to writing. Most of the time I just sit and daydream about what I want to write about. I change my characters and plot waaay to much and too drastically to actually get anywhere if I do start writing. Actually, the plots tend to be static, same with a few characters. Now that I think about it, it mostly tends to be the central character that changes the most. It frustrates me because I have several great ideas that i could turn into books/series, but I change the main character too much and with only keeping a few traits the same it just doesn't work.

And I suck at writing climactic scenes... I mean really... I SUCK at them... And I'm really self-conscious about anything I do, especially my writing, so it takes alot of effort to get me to let other people see what I actually do write down. You have no idea how much I fret about things when I send emails... or call people... I have a really strong fear of being embarrassed, But I'm slowly getting over it.

I can be really creative when I want to be, but alot of times I use ideas that I get from other writers (inspiration might be a better word), but I use so many, from so many different sources, and then infuse a bunch of my own ideas that it ends up being really original. Kinda like American culture... sortof... I also tend to either parody cliches and/or have the complete opposite of cliches. And I also create the most random, bizarre, yet fitting analogies.

Oh, and when I actually do post stuff, I'm going to want all the criticism I can get even though it'll make me uncomfortable, but i really dislike it when people make comments that don't help me at all.

I'll try to critique people's stuff if i get the free time though.

Welcome to my world *sighs*. People tell me I have really good ideas but they're not completely put together...How to describe it? Imagine everything I think about are just pieces of a puzzle that still have to be put together... and that's kind of annoying ^^;

its good that you decided to take a bit of time off from writing, I usually find that if I complete at least a paragraph to a chapter a day-week it usually helps you maintain your vision than trying to cram all your ideas in, with one fell swoop.

Im currently writing a story about an insane black mage, and how he falls into insanity, my original idea was that he was always a bit unstable because he was treated like an outsider, and rejection utlimatley makes him lose his mind completely, but Ive decided to go with slightly unstable to begin with and his fall becomes a tragedy of circumstance, I feel it adds more depth to the character and allows people to have some kind of empathy with him rather than be completely miss-understood.

anyway tell me what you think so far, Im about 3/4 of the way through chapter 2 (intending to switch between diary entries and real time entries as the story progresses in a hope to flesh out the character a bit more) If theres anything you feel I could change let me know
