Ok this is the first story of mine that I'm posting so I would like comments and I appresiate feedback. Also this story happens in a world I made that goes by the name of Alderan which I write all my sotries in.

Eternal Wars

Prologue: The death of a duke. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
All seemed normal inside the palace of De’Sevon the palace of the paladins which was located in the middle of there capital of Dras’Bean, the guards were taking there normal patrol routes and had come across nothing, the cooks had just finished cleaning up after the evening meal and the Duke well the Duke was dying of a sword wound from an enemy mercenary who had been hired to kill the Duke and find out some info, so all in all it was a normal night for with the Death of Duke woods the 2<SUP>nd</SUP> there would have been 96 leaders of the paladins killed over the last ten years so it’s a reoccurring thing. But this one was different for three reasons, one the duke was being pumped for info, two he was in a hallway not lying in bed, dying over a plate of poisoned food or sitting in his throne. Oh and lastly the mercenary was a woman who had recently had a child but we’ll get to that later.<o:p></o:p>
The duke looked to his left at the great grand father clock that was sitting there against the white stone wall then he let his head droop towards the massive rug that covered this hall way floor before he looked out to the gardens to his left which caused a thought to cross his mind, well at least I die near a place of beauty. The Duke let out of gurgled sigh for he had blood in his throat for as he looked at his chest he saw a large scarlet blade sticking through his chest and already his own blood had started to stain his golden tunic. Then as the duke’s blood started to drip to the ground he felt movement behind him and new the mercenary was making a move but the fact that the voice was female surprised him. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“Now then Duke Woods either you tell me where the treasures are and I’ll end your life quickly and painlessly or you refuses and I leave you here to die while I kill your wife and two sons, oh and of chorus your daughter”, her voice was steady and calm but seemed to sound venomous and evil at the same time. The duke swallowed the blood in his mouth so he could speak.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“I am sorry to inform you that you are to late and that all 13 of the treasures are in place and because of this victory is assured”, at this the duke started to move his hand to his waist where he had his long dagger for he planned to end his own life and cause the death of hers.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“What, how, we were keeping tabs on them so they can’t be in place for we traced them here and that is why I was sent”, her voice was panicking and was afraid but at the same time she had pushed her body against the dukes back.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“We have our ways”, finished the duke as he stabbed himself in the heart with his dagger which was long enough to pass through him and piece the woman’s black clothing and cut her shoulders open causing her to cry out in pain. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“You bastard”, said the woman to the now dead duke as she held her bleeding shoulder. She then looked up and started to back away for a royal guard in his white and gold armour was standing there. <o:p></o:p>

“You are under arrest for the murder of duke woods”, said the guard in a muffled voice for he was wearing a helm. The mercenary started to back away as the man pointed a long spear at her but her backing away was cut short by the grandfather clock which had just started to chime for it was 12’o’clock. This didn’t concern the woman thought for she was wondering how the guard had gotten there as fast as he did but this was answered as two more guards walked through the wall the clock was against.<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
“What are you”, she asked as the two new guards pointed there spears at her but then the woman felt a quick pain to the back of her head before she fell unconscious.<o:p></o:p>
