A Collection of Compilements.

Just wanted to share a bit of my poetry with you all.

Requiem of the Sun.

The fall of heavenly rays to the surface of this lost world
Shines upon faces so bleak, so unforgiving.
And the heat of the afternoon thaws such wronged intentions
Yet keeps safety at bay for another moon.

Those of the world look with crunched eyes toward the rays,
Unable to see clearly that which lays so vividly
Over the barren, fissured landscape.
They look onward, yet to find a reason to ask "Why?"

The sun speaks to those below, with a requiem of rays.
The spectrum whispers in the ears of the innocent,
And scorns the drums of the laden, how unworthy.
Such a requiem is peace, yet suffering.

And with the finality of a heated kiss
The sun withdraws into the clouds,
Leaving alone those below on land
To await another requiem...and another day's dawn.

Goodbye This Be.

I can think of you and I
And all of our great, amazing times
And it's hard but I will not cry
Because, this isn't goodbye.

You will leave far across the states
But know, for you I will await
For you are someone with whom I can relate
Which is why, this isn't goodbye.

Your smile and grin will stay with me
No matter where you decide to leave
You are the only one that I need
But this isn't goodbye.

Keep in touch and let's not sever
I cannot picture life without you, whatsoever
No one could take your place in my heart ever,
And so this isn't goodbye.

We must be strong and not break down
Although you will be out of town
I am going to miss you always being around
But please, this isn't goodbye.

Life is going to change for the both of us
And it will be very hard to adjust
It's not something I want to discuss
So let's not say goodbye.

I don't know what I'm going to do
Gosh, it's going to be so hard without you
And I doubt I'll make it through
Maybe, this is goodbye?

(Feel free to comment/criticize, etc....I'll be adding more soon.)

(I'm sorry if this counts as double-posting. Although I Am double-posting, I mean it only to continue posting my poetry...so please don't kill me.)

You Know This.

You remember the time you first saw me,
Though your eyes had gone past long before then
As had mine, and they passed you right over
On the day that you knew I was there.
It took time, and it shocked me in coming
To discover I watched you with longing,
But I had to act carefree and happy
For I feared you would see that I cared.

You were there all the time in the shadows
Barely out of the reach of my fingers,
But when grief and unhappiness shook me,
I was quick to find respite in you.
There was suddenly joy--unexpected,
But as welcome as light from the heavens
In my life, and I held to you tightly--
You and pain were all realness I knew.

You picked up my heart from its prison,
You showed me a way of surviving.
I loved you with all of my being,
But I loved and I lived still with pain,
For the love that before had sustained me
Now was making me restless, and fearful
That you wouldn't forgive or believe me
If I said you shared none of the blame.

You will wait in the silence to hear me;
You will listen, but you will hear nothing--
I cannot say the words that will hurt you;
I cannot burn the bridge, walk away.
Now, as it grows late, I grow tired;
I will sleep, and keep thinking tomorrow,
And I pray that my silence will tell you
Everything I can't make myself say.

Darkened Memories...

Resolute and precise is such a feeling,
Grazing the surfaces of your memories.
Such memories of lost hope, monotone expressions,
The loveless bounty that was life is gone.

What is life but a synopses of past mistakes and false endeavors?
That tread upon your heartstrings with cleats of crystal.
They never leave you alone, not once,
Always reminding you of such loathed times.

Churn your head around, the hopes of removing
These memories slip away into the sunset so dim.
They chain themselves secure, never to let go,
Never to end the cries of last day's woe.

Remember happier times? I don't...
Such memories are gone, replaced only by obscured views
Of dreams and lives asunder.
Shimmering waves of these thoughts retreat into the ocean.

Other thought replaces the hopeless thoughts so dark.
To end the pain, pain to the self is reality.
But as hard as might will bring you,
You cannot force the steel to flesh...

Tears of those you knew, now gone,
Cascade down your pale cheeks in frigid flames,
Fabricate again to the moonless sky, such as memories.
The memories that cannot be removed...

So where to turn now?
Where does life end and slumber begin?
When all doors have closed to your face, who cares,
But the ones already gone. The ones gone...
They are those who graze your memories.

They are those who force the weeping hours upon you...

You know, those poems are beautiful. My favourite was "Requiem of the Sun". It was warm and spiritually uplifting.

Your "Darkened Memories" is really dark, but it was the most well-written out of the four. You obviously put a lot of effort into those poems and I see that you have a lot of talent.
