I prefer Family Guy for sure, I use to like American Dad more but I don't care for it so much nowadays. Family Guy is really funny and the characters in it are just plain hilarious. Stewie rules! I really like the gags they have in Family Guy, they're always witty and humorous. Some of it is a little too crude though.

I love American Dad, but i'm going to have to go with family guy simply because there's more seasons of it so it provides more lulz. And nobody can beat Stewie, he's one of the best cartoon characters ever. As Koloth said though, Eric Cartman ftw. Stewie is one of the best, Eric is the best.

Meh, I like the old episodes of Family guy. The new episodes of Family guy are fun to watch when your bored. Family Guy's jokes are getting really old. Ugh, especially the large aggressive chicken. Family Guy jokes go like this:
Peter: "Hey Louis! Remember the time when I fell down the stairs at the mall and I landed on (Insert Celebrity name)!?"
*Show clip* Then Louis comments.
I only saw one episode of American Dad, I didn't get into it.

The old Family Guy is by far the best. The new episodes seem too forced, and some of the characters are losing their touch.
Unfortunately American Dad didn't develop too much either after the first series.

Don't really like American Dad, even for that kind of show, sometimes it is too tough to follow. I've always like Family guy though, I even bought the video game

I didn't use to like the new episodes of Family Guy. They were pretty stale... but I think he's gotten back into his old rhythm again. The newer or the "new" episodes are pretty good again.

I like the old and new episodes equally, i think they're all pretty good *shrug* So long as they dont run out of ideas for flashbacks the series will do fine, since that's ALL the jokes are is "remember when peter..." and a flashback.
