FOB to me is emo. They sound just like most emo bands out there...
and just for the record, I see emo's on myspace who have a very long list of emo bands in their profile... most of them sound pretty much thesame... shows they are very unoriginal

pete wentz definately has the emo look but not the rest of the band.
I hate the word emo so much, its meant to be short for emotional FOB arent an emotional band, therefore they shouldnt be labelled emo.
I dont really care about their image because theyre music is good.

Their image has become borderline emo, but I don't see them singing about cutting their wrists because their girlfriend left them 3 years ago.
The difference between looking emo and being emo is vastly different. It's become more of a trend now more than anything.

Pete is the only one who could pass off as emo. Their older music IMO is more emo:

I don't think Fall out boy is emo as much anymore. They're not like hawthorne heights...*gags*. Anyways, they seem pop to me from what I heard...
Yes, Pete Wentz does dress emo but he seems more scene to me.  Not to mention he's a huge attention whore.

I think they sound more like Punk than Emo but most of the Emos I've seen around wear FOB shirts or whatever so IMO yeah, if they appeal to the audience then they are

Some call it "Hardcore" some call it "Indie", whatever you call it... Big Sunglasses, self photos of the person not looking at the camera, listening to screaming bands who no one has heard of. The boys wear girl pants and take pics of themselves in a mirror, rather than set a timer. The only people who don't call it 'Emo' are those who are part of it.

Lol. FoB is kinda emo I guess you could say. Their new music isn't as hardcore as their First or Second Album, but it's still pretty decent.
