Do you consider yourself independent?

Yes, no, maybe so?

I consider myself semi-independent, and I mean, I'm independent from my parents in some ways, but not entirely on most. I need to bolster up my cash reserves while I'm looking for a job, if that's hint enough of how I'm not independent.

Uhm, no. I am not independent. I have not had a job in 2 years. I am turning 19 this month and I am actually (finally) starting college this month (that is if I don't procrastinate and miss the deadline). I dropped out of school when I was 17 (long story), I moved in with my boyfriend before I had a license (which I didn't get until I was 18), I do not have a car.

It's not so much that I am irresponsible...it's that...I am relying 100% on my significant other to take me places and help me make things happen. Without him, I will never have a car, a job to pay for a car, and I will never attend school.

+ I have gained 10-15 pounds in these last 2 years of nothingness. =x

I consider myself to be very independent. I don't live on my own, but I think I could manage livivng on my own and buying food for a month of 500 bucks if someone was paying rent for where I lived. And if I had a car, that would make me almost entirely independent. I mainly only count on mom to buy me food and other things like Video games, but that's just about it.

So, yes. You could consider me to be a very independent individual. XD

I live with my parents, but i buy my own gas, pay them for my phone and car bills, buy my own food. Sadly i cant move out though, since it's imperative i stay on their health insurance (gotta love heart conditions). So i'm about 90% independent.

I know I'm not independent. I still live at home with my mom and sisthers. And have no job. I really have no responsabilities besides those of a regular teen. I'm looking for a job, but not very hard. I know I'm lazy but I need to get out of it. Because after my senior year I plan on living on a campus. And college life without being able to balance play time with work and study time will most likely end badly.

I would say so, in more ways than one. Even as a child I've been fairly independent insofar that I could always find a means to amuse myself off in some corner without involving others. I think a lot of those tendencies carried over into adulthood. I have a decent group of friends and I'm not entirely a hermit, but they're usually the ones calling me over to hang out and not the other way around. Fact is that I'm fairly comfortable spending an entire day right here on the computer or in front of a video game console, nose stuck in a book, driving around by myself for the hell of it, whatever.

If we're talking financially-wise, then that's a yes as well. I haven't lived with my parents for years. I made the typical mistake we sometimes make of moving in with the girlfriend (boyfriend if you're a chick, whatever it's the same damn mistake). Problem with that is that I'm not really ready either career-wise with finances, or mentally to shoulder the responsibility of supporting both myself and someone else and unfortunately she tried to force me into that sort of situation and things did not go over well. I've been roommates with two of my friends since then since it's cheaper on us to split the rent on a place. But otherwise, I'm pretty independent and self-supportive and if I have even just one goal in life then it's to keep on working toward being wholly and utterly self-sufficient in any and every possible regard.

I consider myself to be semi-Independent but I do need the help from my parents. It is very difficult here to move out of your house. Rent here for an apartment is as low as 600 a month to as high as 4,000. I respect where my parents live and respect their rules. They own the house, so I need to obey. I'm not much of a problem to them though. I don't go out partying every night and snort cocaine like most kids around here do.

I was lucky when my dad bought me a car. I am responsible for it of course, and I have to pay for gas. I do pay need to pay for some of my college money as well. I also have to go to school, work part-time, and help out with my dad's business.

For basic tasks, like cooking and cleaning, I rely on my parents to support me there.
But other than that; I take of myself all the time. I work hard to make my money (well, I work) and I buy all my own clothes and stuff. And once I finally pass my driving test, I'll drive myself around whenever I can.

I'm totally independent. I live on my own, pay my rent and bills with my own hard-earned money, and take care of my two cats.
I moved away rather late, I was 20. But the reason was that I wouldn't want my parents to support me in any ways, because I'm stubborn and have too much pride. So when I finally got myself a job, I moved out.

I am very independant and I love it that way. It's a great experience and I think that it helps me throughout life in the long run. The only time I don't like to be independant is when I'm going through a rough time. Sometimes you just need someone there to help you get through it.
