Good theory, chances are though SE will steer well clear of the theme of the weather and the elements for the name of this main character because it's what most FF fans have come to expect

or maybe... Syphon or Ardor D: zomg I figured itz out. Or maybe its going to be a spell not see in FF games for a really long time... like Meteor/Meteo or Tornado.

Not only was one character called 'cloud' they also had a character called 'squall' they didn't continue the weather related names in FFIX and later FF games so I'm going to asume it won't be storm or lightning.
