This game is incredible. I've played Rainbow 6 games before... but never one like this. The game is truly out there. It's really good. I've never before played a game where the more I died, the more I liked the game. They put you in almost impossible situations and with a 3 man team expect you to kill your way through level after level of terrorist infested casinos. You'll die. A lot. Even if you don't run in guns-a-blazin', you'll still die half the time. lol And I love it.
The automatic save points are so far apart that you really lose a lot of progress when you die too. It's not just a few enemies back. It'll often be a whole objective, which means multiple rooms filled with enemies. So dying really does have an effect. It means if you're not used to playing tactical, you better freaking learn how and quick. At first I didn't like it... but now that I'm alright at covering my ass, I love it.
And when you die, you have to replay a scenario... but it's just just waltzing through the same area killing the same baddies. There are certain triggers set up in the level, yea that's true. For example, if you have to walk up a few flights of stairs, on the second level you can get bumrushed by a group of terrorists flooding out from several doors. That much will stay consistant. However, once they're out, their attack patterns are completely unique from any previous playthrough. I've had straight on attacks, been flanked on both sides at the same time, been flanked on just one side with full strength... I've had them use smoke and frag grenades effectively on my team. The AI is impressive. Basically your teammate's AI is impressive... and they just gave that same intelligence to your enemy. It's really amazing how well they can outflank and surround you sometimes.
