I just started this game again and thers sumthin i was wondering about.

At the start wen ur blowing up the reactor just before u fight the gaurd scorpion, barret asks u to set the timer for the bomb. Then the screen goes red and theres a voice that says sumthin like. ''watch out theyre coming, this isnt just a normal reactor''

What or who is this voice?? i thought it might be zack but i honestly dont know. I never really paid much attention to that line until now.
Any ideas????

offtopic: why would an FF hater sign up at the FF forums...and make ten posts no less?

ontopic: I have always wondered this myself, after asking a few others it seems to be the case that people think it was a memory of Zack in one of Cloud's many flashbacks

Apparently i read somewhere that its Cloud's subconsiounce (sorry for mispelling) the little kid cloud speak to you like that throughout a lot of the game in the reactor, when he falls into the church etc.

A good question, to be sure. I've wondered the same thing. It could very well have been the planet, for all we know. (hey, who says that only the Cetra can talk to the planet? Maybe the planet talks to whoever it wants.)
Anyways, there is no way to be sure. I've never heard any mention as to who/what this voice may be. A curiosity in the least.

i always believe it to be a memory of the situation of the other reactor where sephy found jenova and lost control in the same instant jenova's cell inside cloud reacting causein hes body to be controlable by sephiroth but also able to talk to jenova in the form of his subconcience.........(srry for the long explination i have had long hypothesis)

If you guys aren't sure what they're referencing, check this YouTube video...

But yea, I've always noticed that but never known what it was. Sephiroth was the one who was constantly inside Cloud's head throughout the game... so I just kind of presumed it was. But it's hard to tell. Why would Sephiroth say that? It doesn't really make sense. And if it was a childhood memory, I don't really recall that line... it is really interesting though.

whos voice was it

Some would say it was Sephiroths voice that kept talking to Clouds mind since he was controlling him, But i say it was Jenovah after all. I mean Hojo is the one who commited the crime against Sephiroth long ago but who was controlling Sephiroth then after when he got all his power? There had to be someone else and thats why i say Jenovah was behind all of this. Im sure its something else though that the good ol ppl at ff headquarters will make us keep guessing on.

I've always thought that it was Zack. I mean it makes more sense to me since he has seemed to adopt Zack's memories, personality, etc... I really don't think it's Jenova or Sephiroth because it just doesn't come across to me that way. I don't think it's Aerith either. I strongly feel it's Zack.

I'm not really sure though. It's really a peculiar line... and apparently one they added at the last minute. (Wasn't in the demo) "Watch out! This isn't just a reactor!!" is the line. Does it refer to the upcoming boss battle or something entirely different. I'm not really sure what it means, to be honest. And if it refers to the beast, who would have known about it and why would they have warned him. And if it refers to the planet or something else more abstract, who would have wanted to warn him about that.

I suppose if you believe Aeris knew her fate and was a much more centra than the game lead on, then you could take that to mean she knew that blowing up the reactor would kill civilians... or that the mako was much more than just a source of power. But that seems fairly farfetched.

I agree, that does seem rather far fetched. The line doesn't appear in any flashback that we know of, or story, game, ect. Zack is an interesting choice, one that could be possible, and makes sense.

Out of all of them, I'm going to stick with the planet. It was probably the planet talkin' to him, as he was about to destroy a reactor. These reactors are 'plugged in' to the planet itself, and any messing around with them could harm it. It's so much more than a reactor; it's a valve to the planet's lifeblood.
That's my opinion, anyho.

lol That's probably why the remake is taking so long to happen. "Hey Joe, I was just re-doing the code for this game... and when Cloud first goes into the Mako reactor here... uh... some disembodied voice says 'Look out! This isn't just a reactor!!' to him. Uh... you remember why we wrote that in there in the first place?" "What? It really says that?" "Yea, right here... see look..." "Hell if I know... " "Don't tell me we're going to have to call ANOTHER meeting just to discuss if this line should stay or go! Who put all this random shit in there anyhow!?" "I bet it was Tony" "Yea, let's go kill Tony" ... and then after some arrests and mopping up... they finally got back to work on the FFVII remake, right after they deleted all the emails that looked like this:

To: Square-Enix Corporate
From: Aeris Gainsborough

Subject: Aeris Rebirth Sidequest

Body: Hey uh... look. I know this is like the ten millionth copy I've sent of this e-mail... but it would really mean a lot to me if you made it so I could revive Aeris. You see... I had this dream... (2 pages later) ... and that's why I'm going to name any child I have Aeris, regardless of gender. So it would really mean a lot to me if she could come back to life.

Ok, that was funny. And quite possible as well. XD

but I certainly hope that second part was also meant in jest. Right.

Care to alter that post there Aztec? It's not very appropriate to make fun of another member like that.

Um, I’ve always thought it was Cloud, himself but I did some research and found I was right…assuming of course that it’s true, which I think it is because it does makes sense. I mean, think about it…Cloud has different personalities, yes? Sure, Sephiroth and Zack were both inside his head because of the experiment and the fact that Cloud did adopt some of Zack's traits, but the voice is actually the REAL Cloud, trying to make himself remember his true past, as well as his true self. It is shown inside the Honey Bee Inn, in Junon and in the Lifestream.

In Junon, the voice tries to get Cloud to remember what happened in Nibelheim 5 years ago. The voice tells Cloud to ask Tifa about it, and when he did, Tifa changes the subject right away because she doesn't want him to think about it.

Now, as for the Lifestream, remember when Cloud and Tifa were searching for the real Cloud? I believe it was towards the end. Well, you play as Tifa and there are like, three different forms of Cloud you have to talk to. One is him as a kid, one is a shadow of Cloud’s memories, which is the voice inside Cloud’s head, and the other is the Cloud now.

You then search through his memories until you get to his most secret memory, which is why he left Nibelheim to join SOLDIER. As the memory’s revealed, more memories come back to him and you then see what really happened in Nibelheim 5 years ago. With this final memory, Cloud then becomes himself. Heh, the REAL Cloud.

I don’t remember the exact quote, per se, but he tells Tifa that “we meet again” or something, and so I'm assuming that is the first time the REAL Cloud and Tifa have talked since they were kids in Nibelheim. He then continues on with his journey and defeated Sephiroth in the end, as the real him.

That's a really good point. It still doesn't clear the air on why anyone said it to him though. Like you made a really valid point, but it's hard for me to side with any one person on this dicussion because I wasn't sure who would have motivation for saying that. Even if it was Cloud, how would he know to warn himself?

Well, we have to remember that Cloud has never done well when it comes to Mako energy. So when the voice inside him (which is actually the REAL him) says, "Watch out...this isn't just a normal reactor!"...it shows him keeling over then.

I'm thinking that this is because since he was exposed to mako energy before when he was 16 years old, he was able to tell the difference between a regular reactor and a not-so-regular reactor. Hojo overdosed him with mako energy, so the real Cloud (voice inside him) was able to sense the mako energy inside the reactor.

So the voice inside him (Real Cloud) knew that it wasn't just a regular reactor and warned himself in a way. That explains the keeling over.

Took me awhile to figure this out, so I couldn't really answer the question right away. =/ Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm right though, but it does explain a lot, yeah?

It still doesn't make sense how he'd know to tell himself to watch out. I mean I am with you 100% on the possibility that it could have been the REAL Cloud. I'm even with you on your explanation on why that's possible. I just don't think it makes any sense how he'd know to warn himself. Sure he'd been in a reactor when he was younger and lived outside the Nibelheim reactor his whole life... sure he'd probably even been to quite a few on his travels with Zack and Sephiroth. That doesn't mean that he'd know there would be a guardian spider type creature at that particular mako reactor, at least not that we know of. It doesn't add up.
