Linnaete's Doodle Corner

^ Your day will come, Sly. Your day will come. :ahmed:

The lack of sultry librarian glamour is disconcerting, so I decided to draw my own...at least until I realised I really lack much of an idea of how you make a librarian outfit look ornate and less like something you see in a dodgy porn movie, so I decided to pinch a few ideas from Astrologian.

So, here is your librarian Linnaete.

Did someone want Dancer as a job in FFXIV? :gasp:

Melee DPS/healer hybrid would be cool, with some light support abilities thrown in there too to create a very versatile and capable party member. If only the game design as it is can accommodate such a job without a thousand hurdles (gear being one of them).

And we're back!...sort of.

Cross-posting this one from the Classroom Notes & Lecture thread:

Because a recent event in the game involved Power Rangers and readily available pose emotes, I thought: why not?

I wanted to do a quick doodle of the Miqo'te wearing the red dress from the Stormblood teaser trailer, but then I realised I lacked actual colouring pens or pencils, sooooo, I just had to improvise.

Random MNK Elezen (with horns instead of ears and a Lalafell's haircut it would seem...) and a totally made-up Garlean Legatus. I'll just call him Smiff van McGee of the Imperial XXXth Legion.

I have once again defiled my Business Law and Practice book. :sad2:

EDIT: Oh ffs. The Elezen's left hand and where it is... :ffs:

Well, these aren't actually FFXIV-related, but since this thread has become an aggregate of my doodles and sketches anyway, why not put them here? Besides, they can easily be glamour requests or something. Or just pretend they're NPCs.

Yeah, I gave them names. Howell Fleming and Riven Silverwood.

Haha wow, these are so cool!

What I love most about FFXIV is all the memories you create with your friends inside, and when people take it to the next level like you do... Well, that's where all the magic comes from! That's really fantastic, I hope you keep up the great work, I'd love to see more of these!

@Soulcorruptor - you asked, you receive.

And lo! A Mithra from the parallel realm of Vana'diel finds her way to Eorzea, resembling a fair Miqo'te so as to raise nought in the way of suspicions from the local populace.

The Mithra hastily switches glamour to her native Vana'diel summoner garb, betraying the act of subterfuge as onlookers notice this foreign outfit.

Howling as if to herself, this otherworlder channels upon aethereal-like energy, calling forth two Avatars to this realm: Ramuh and Fenrir.

Her goal is simple: the culling of all popotos from this godsforsaken land. Her left arm deftly reaches out to snatch a young male Lalafell named Green Sprout by the throat.

Fenrir, famished and belligerent, seizes upon the opportunity to feast upon an unfortunate Lalafellin maiden flirting with Green Sprout.

Ramuh, arbiter and paragon of order, deliverer of retribution and justice most divine, casts his Judgement Bolt on two other precocious Lalafellin maidens named Wynona and Linnaete, both of whom have been loudly arguing on the street about which of the other is clearly the cutest creature ever.

As the carnage unfolds, a contemptuous Elez-uhh, bipedal dhalmel, who just minutes before had been flaunting her body to any passer-by with or without their consent, observes the popoto culling at the hands of this otherworldly Mithra and cackles, evidently displaying little sympathy for the victims. What a bitch!

Great job Liv, glad Fenrir is getting his daily snack of taru's/lala's now.

Given the revelation that Liv eats pizza with a knife and fork, everyone decides to mock her. :mokken:

Ho ho ho ho!

That is quite possibly the best one you have done (and they're all good).

Lots of brilliant references there (and more that I probably didn't get due to my absence on XIV). Nice to see that you are keeping it relevant to the news stories of the day with the FFF porn scandal! :argor:

Keep up the fantastic work. If you do keep it up then you shall not be punished for eating your pizza with a knife and fork. Do you eat your garlic bread with a spoon?

I know, I know. This meme was fresh a week ago and now outdated and overdone. But I couldn't resist.

Just in case you need the joke explained to you because you're unfamiliar with what has happened in FFXIV of late:

1. Stormblood, the game's second expansion, was available to play as early access day arrived on Friday 16 June 2017.

2. Or...was it? You see, a tonne of players trying to log in to play and thereby cause inordinate stress on the game's servers are one thing. It's naturally something you expect to see come the launch of a new MMO expansion, but...

3. This time someone decided it would be a good idea to feature two major instanced fights as part of the main story from early on (note: instanced means it's not in the game's open-world areas. It means when the game loads you into a separate sequence, be it a dungeon or a solo fight.). Getting past these two early instances is vital to carrying on with the main story and to actually play the expansion's new content.

4. So you have TONNES of players queuing up to get past these instances, which are quite long missions, mind you, and causing the whole instances server architecture to chug to a grinding halt, unable to manage all this demand and only letting a few lucky players through. As such, "Cold Steel" (referring to the name of the first of these two instanced quests that were suddenly gating people from progressing with the expansion) and has earned its reputation as something to be loathed. To be feared. To be the symbolic phrase for how much their weekend was now supposedly ruined.

5. Raubahn (big burly guy at the top) and Pipin (the Lalafell in the middle) were the two respective NPCs for the two instances that players had to speak to in order to progress. As the instance servers buckled and were at breaking point, it was like the two characters were refusing to let you pass. They too have garnered considerable disdain from players over the last week or so.

6. Ilberd, the guy at the top right with the sinister sneer, is renowned for his constant yelling of "SLOPPY" in a decidedly Yorkshire accent in one of the game's recent dungeons. He too is a(n outdated and overused) meme.

7. Kira hates dentists...that's the joke.

8. Yotsuya is a villain in Stormblood who resembles FFXV's Gentiana. She steps on a captive's head at one point, which has made her popular with...people who want to be dominated, I...guess?

9. Those two things in boxes flying out from Al's character as he is punched are two major skills that used to exclusively belong to White Mage. They represent SE screwing over WHMs. Meanwhile the fairy being punched too next to Tom's character is symbolic of SE screwing Scholars over too.

10. Sly really likes his gardening...

:shame:

Well...erm...I said I was going to do it. I don't quite know what I was thinking, if indeed I even was. Here it is. The culmination of how much I feel Ser Aymeric is a totally sexy male Elezen and if anyone dares to attempt to take him, you have me to answer to. :mokken:

@Espurr, present this to Melody as we agreed.

Gee why is everyone so stressed out?... Oh hey, sold another onion.

@Six

Miss Seven Rivers here has allegedly taken down Susano (Extreme) on her own after one silly Dark Knight received a couple of wallops to the face that could have been prevented with a good old protective cooldown or two...and maybe a shield from the Scholar, but who knows what the Scholar was doing. They were probably disconnecting or something. Who knows?

Disclaimer: Tom wasn't actually there, so I've clearly taken creative liberties with the recreation of this event. But Seven Rivers will probably tell you this is a very accurate and totally-not-exaggerated-for-comical-effect rendition of what had actually happened!

Time for something different!

Free from the confines of pencil and paper, Liv tries out Procreate on her tiny iPad using a cheap stylus pen instead of a proper iPad Pro with the overpriced pencil like what normal people would go for.

Linnaete > Wynona. Let this be known. @Espurr

Seven as a far superior Lalafell. Look at her reacting to it with such grace and enthusiasm. :jess:

Okay, nerds. Who would like to be next for Lalafellisation? :mokken:

Oh. My. God.
