Welcome all and one to the 2015 Role-Play Battle Tournament, which is also the first new RP-related event of the year, amusingly enough...

This RPB tournament will be a round-robin style tournament, with the purpose being that each player will face off against all over players at least once. It will also be a tag-team tournament, with each player providing two characters, rather than one. As per any RPB, RP rules and RPB rules are to be followed.

The point system will be as follows:
Victory: 3 Points
Draw: 1 Point
Defeat: 0 Point

The Victor of the tournament will be determined by whomever has the most points at the end.

Each match will be determined by three credentials:
- 20 post limited is reached (including the starting post, it should be 21 posts in total)
- Both combatants on one side is defeated.
- Time Limit is reached (Typically one week)

So is this an April Fools day joke? If not sure why not, I got some ideas for using people if by chance we can use more then one.

This was pointed out in the SB shortly after my post Six, but thankyou anyways. Now he doesn't need to fear being thrown into the fiery depths of an inferno
 
Well, now that I have my three candidates, we can procceed with the events.

- This RPB tournament will be a tag-style battle, each player will have two characters. The bios do not have to be overly detailed, so long as the abilities have a MP cost or cooldown rate.

- The tournament will be round-robin format, each contestant will face off against all contestants at least once. There will be a points system akin to that of the round of 32 in the FIFA World Cup, 3 points go to the victor, 1 point to each in the event of a tie, and 0 points for the loser.

- The RPB Tournament will begin at the earliest around mid-May, and at the latest around Birthweek in late-May/early June.

- RPB Bios will be posted here, if there is a link, they will go here as well.

Basic History & Bio

Nearly 46 "human years" ago, Princess Shira was born to former nomad Genevieve Ferrant and Emperor Calad Velarus IX.

She is the only child, and thus, quickly grew to be independent. As a result, her parents' attempts to coddle her often fell flat. Yet, Shira has always been grateful for her parents, and also to the rest of her family. But she did not often see eye to eye with them, and thus her independence has caused her family to often treat her as the "black sheep".

Shira has been a well-rounded student of many subjects throughout most of her life. Her preferred areas of study include archaeology, geology, and philosophy. Outside of normal education, she has taken interest in the history of her race, in which many records and lore have been lost over eons.

Recently, Shira began to develop gifts in which only her race can possess. Yet, even among the Drakenian descendants today, these gifts are entirely dormant. (The last known Drakenian to use these gifts died centuries ago.) Currently, she is traveling through the grassy north of the Empire, where the majority of the world's nomad Drakenians reside, in order to understand her gifts further.

(This is intentionally vague, for story reasons.)

Jexel is an agent-specialist of the Essyri Kingdom. His father, Rhys, served the Kingdom for most of his life, so Jexel honored him by enlisting.

Much of Jexel's life is redacted in his files. Although, on his mother's side, familial ties assumingly link back to an ancient royal Velarian bloodline.

Jexel was last seen leaving for a mission. He never returned to Essyri, but instead, found himself in an unfamiliar land... without any clue as to how he'd arrived.

Phillian is shorter than the average male, standing at 5 foot 6. His build is a bit stocky and bulky, similar to a bodybuilder. His hair is kept short and somewhat unkempt. His face and body contain small scratches and scars on the worn and hearty texture of his skin. He wears old fashioned button up collared shirts(white) and black jeans. He layers these with combat boots and a short black leather jacket a size smaller to show off his bulging arm muscles. His face often wears a serious expression. He wears no sort of armor whatsoever and does not take clothing into consideration when in battle.

Personality: For, most Philian is a bit of an overconfident jerk. As a result of his childhood upbringing as the elder son in a prominent family, and successor to the family name, he has gotten away with much in life. The result of that is a man who pity's others, treats women as objects, and has no regard for those who cannot fight or look out for themselves. He thinks of himself as near invincible in his abilities. He has a soft spot for friends, he loves to taunt his siblings, and rarely acknowledges strangers. He has a chaotic sense of justice when it comes to killing deeming the act necessary if he believes his adversary is a threat to his own life in particular.

History:

Philian is the firstborn in a prominent military family called the House of Marx. His parents, both war heroes and experts in military strategy raised him at a young age as a warrior. At the age of 4 he began training heavily in at art of swordplay. When his sister was born a few years later he was on the track to becoming a childhood prodigy at swordfighting. In his later years he began experimenting with bows, sabers, and firearms, none of which interested him. By the age of 18 he had mastered 3 melee weapon fighting styles and had received much(albiet too much) praise on his skill.

On his 19th birthday he dropped out of his schooling to travel the world. He eventually settled into a monk-like community where he gained interest in martial arts. As the years went by with barely any contact from the outside world he trained his body and gained muscle to increase his brute strength. He moved back in with his family a few years prior and with his new arsenal planned to join the military.

However only recently did he hear about a tourney where he could compete against younger sisters he hadn't seen in near a decade. It was where he chose to test out his newfound strength.

Being a fan of Lolita, and being a mage at the same time, she fancy's wearing practical black shorts and a button up black laced shirt under a flowing, fitted, ruffled, red and white mage coat that nearly touches the ground when she stands. She wears white boots to compliment her outfit, however they are more for style than comfort. She wears a white ribbon at the back of her hair and a blank, often aloof facial expression.

Appearance:
Anastasie has long, flowing chestnut brown hair that extends to the lower back area. She stands at 5'5" tall and weighs 135 lbs. Her skinny and flexible build can be attributed to her years of service to the crown of the Dual Monarchy. Anastasie has brown colored eyes.

As a member of the Keyblade Order of the Red Rose, Anastasie's attire consisted of a white long coat with a black long sleeved blouse underneath. She wears a white suit pants with a brown leather belt around her waist.

Personality:
Anastasie was raised as a soldier to the King of Archelonia. When she was a young noblewoman, she considered it her duty to protect the king and his subjects of the empire. She is a proud individual, and due to her nursing a strong inferiority complex, Anastasie always sought to prove herself by any and all means. She was proud, brash and confident, always looking to pick a fight against her opponents.

Anastasie was driven to succeed, even as a young woman. She was fully devoted to the ideals of the Keyblade Order, and the ideal of service to the greater realm as a whole. Anastasie sought to become a great Keyblade Master and for the vast majority of her life, never once considered life outside of the Order.

As she grew older, her attitudes had changed, As a result of her years of experience within the Keyblade Order, she grew a little more humble. She still maintains her pride as a noblewoman, but she has largely mellowed herself out. She still shows her tendencies as a Blood Knight however. Even though she does not pick fights with opponents, she feels most comfortable whilst engaged in combat.

Anastasie had high expectations of government as a Keyblade Knight, and was percieved by her peers as a political idealist. As a result, she became increasingly disillusioned with the Monarchy, especially after the Four Years’ War, which established her current beliefs amongst the Keyblade Order. She was highly critical of the Keyblade Council’s handling and conduct of the conflict, whom of which went completely against the ideals of what it meant to be a Keyblade Knight. She believed that the Order and the soldiers of the Monarchy and abroad were exploited and disrespected, and sought to create from the ashes a new nation dedicated to honor the warrior by creating a realm of endless conflict.

  • Thunder Magic: Utilizes the use of Electric-elemental magic to deal with opponents.
  • Blade Flurry: Rapid Thrusts against a target.
  • Expert Footwork: Passive Ability, allowing for quick counterattacks when dealing with opponents.
  • Spellsword: Can take magic attacks like a conduit, allowing to redirect magic back at the user. Does not work with stronger magic (such as -aga level spell) or with spamming of magic.
  • Assault Armor: Desperation Attack, when at critical health, can create a field of energy around her that explodes in a powerful magical burst. Reduces Defense and Vitality afterwards.

History:
Anastasie Jeanne-Louise Janvier was born on September 12, 23234 EUC in Saint-Etienne, Novara-Archelonia. She was a member of the Noble House of Janvier, who was in relation to a Ducal Family in the general reason. Because she was a member of the noble family, she had always been taught that she as a person must uphold the honor of her family, and of her country. Her mother was a notable of the Duchy of Azuria, her father was a recently retired Keyblade Master.

Seeking to emulate her father’s successes, and with her father’s blessing and his old Keyblade in hand, she enrolled in Terre Depart Academy at the age of 10, taking as a master, Guillaume Longespee. During her time as a student and apprentice, she was proud to the point of arrogant, however she also felt herself inferior to others, and as a result always sought to prove herself. She always studied hard to be the top of her class. Although she was taught in the seven styles of Keyblade combat, she felt keen of particular interest in studying the second form, the Contention Form (although later in life she would incorporate Forms III and IV to her personal fighting style). As a result, she became a skilled duelist, one who has not known defeat amongst her peers.

During her time, when she was 15, she befriended a young Keyblade Knight, a Haosian-born individual by the name of Leo Curtis. Leo was probably one of the few who ever came close to besting her in battle, but he was also one who was smitten with her. At first the feeling was not reciprocal, and she generally brushed him aside. But over time, she started to grow to care for him, Anastasie would refer to him as, “one of the few people I’ve ever truly loved.”

Anastasie was conferred to the rank of Keyblade Master at the age of 25. At that point she was already well set to take on solo missions for the Kingdom, only taking on dual missions with her former master William Longespeé and her boyfriend, Leo. During one such mission with the latter, she would end up pregnant, and thus give birth to a young girl whom she named Frances. Leo would not live to see his daughter grow up however, as during a later mission, the pair came across a powerful Heartless creature, who would fatally injure Leo, and critically injuring Anastasie before the beast was finally brought down. When the latter came to days later, she would find out that Leo died. To make matters worse, their child, still an infant at the time, ended up having to be left behind due to the child being born in the Haos Republic. These traumatic events left her, in her own words, “Writhing in pain with despair and agony.”

Anastasie would end up being suffering greater emotional trauma when, during a mission for the Keyblade Order and for the Monarchy to rescue a scientist held by the Kingdom of Bourgogne, she would ultimately see herself get betrayed by Master Longespeé, who critically injured her. Because of her closeness to the now traitorous Keyblade Master, Anastasie was to be marked for death had the Royal Directorate-General for External Security decided to use her to eliminate Master Longespeé, a mission that she begrudgingly completed after an intense duel to the death. The mission left the Keyblade Master bitter, feeling as if the old Anastasie died when she landed the final blow. She felt even more distraught when it was realized that the old master had been, for years, disrespected and manipulated by the government that he had to deal with only because he was that loyal to his country. It would set her down the path to politics, with the desire of reforming her nation so that such an incident would never happen again.

Sadly, as the years passed by, Anastasie felt her goals slipping past her. As the Dual Monarchy increasingly looked to go to war with Bourgogne, she was called upon as the Order’s representative to assist in the elimination of the Order of the Temple of Saint Liliana, the Church of Novara’s Military Order. The leading member of the campaign was a young Colonel and Keyblade Knight by the name of Seraphine de Montmorency-Laval. Her campaigns brought a swift end to the Liliana Order, but it left Anastasie questioning whether the Order was targeted simply because it was a threat, or because it was manipulated for the benefits of the politicians and nobles. It was something that she would teach to her first apprentice, Avril de Tilly.

But the final straw for her came in the Four Years War, that began in earnest with Novara-Archelonia fighting against powers such as Bourgogne, Arlon, Kalmar and the Haos Republic. In one particular battle, fought on the Archelonian-Bourgognean border, the conduct of the Keyblade Order, utilizing harsh tactics against fellow soldiers, something seen as a failure of the adherence to the tenets of the Order itself. It was the final betrayal that she could stomach.

It was during the closing stages of the war that she would encounter a startling discovery, that the Liliana organization was not destroyed during Montmorency’s campaign. In addition, one of its leading members was actually not a human, but a Lehonian released during the final days of the order’s official existence. The leader of the group wished for Anastasie to join, seeing through her the emotional and mental torment that she had went through for nearly thirty years. Anastasie, seeing this as an opportunity to further her own plans, accepted, and together began recruiting members into the order, utilizing her contacts within the Keyblade Order, as well as through friends in the Church opposed to the current order of things.

It was also at that time that she would take on a second apprentice. In reality, that apprentice was one of the surviving test subjects for Project: PROMETHEUS, Marie d’Anjou. She would train her well, treating her with motherly compassion as both her friend and her master once showed her, despite knowing the truth that she was but a weapon. In a way Anastasie saw Marie as the daughter she lost a long time ago.

As the pieces begin to fall into place, Anastasie’s goal seems to be within sight. If it means resurrecting the individual responsible for the Lehonian Civil War, then she will do what she must.

Appearance:
Léonide has long black hair with a series of bangs in the front of her head. The black hair has some purple highlights in the front of it as well. Léonide has sea blue eyes and a pale, almost feminine complextion. Léonide is fairly plain and skinny in appearance. She also has a white tail, a common feature among genomes. The reason for her white tail despite his black hair is due to him dying his hair black.

In terms of attire, Léonide prefers wearing all black. His attire consists of a black short-sleeved cotton shirt, with the sleeves extending to his elbows, black long pants made of leather, and black shoes. Léonide also wears a combat breastplate as well, allowing her to protect from flintlock muskets and certain rifles. She also wears the breastplate to hide other feminine features such as breasts.

Personality:
Léonide is well mannered and generally level-headed figure who strides to uphold her duties to her country. As such, the Magic Knight can be made rather uncomfortable with attention in the romantic aspect and is largely naieve to love and relationships, the sole exception being his doting behavior towards her younger sister Cerise.

In battle, Leonide remains calm and collected, rarely letting his emotions get to him, though if she is enraged she is not willing to stop until the person is dead or she is restrained. She is respectful of people above her station as well as those will great skill in battle, and is not above respecting his opponent. Because she follows the code of knighthood, he often pledges to defend the weak and aid them whenever they require it.

-Magic Conduit: Can absorb enemy magic into her sword, only to redirect it to a different target.
-Magic Absorb: Can absorb enemy magic to her sword, stocking the mana from the attack.
-Elemental Blade: Can channel the elements into her blade, allowing her to utilize the basic elements (air, water, fire, earth) to bear.
-Holy Blade: Can inbue the holy element to create a blinding light, or deal holy-elemental damage.
-Shadow Blade: Can inbue the shadow element to drown the target in darkness.

History:
Born in 1792 in Terra, Leonide was one of the many Genomes created to inhabit Gaia once Garland's plan was complete. But upon the destruction of Terra would end up living in Gaia anyway. She was one of the people, along with her younger sister who in 1803, left on the pilgrimage from the Black Mage Village to found the Kingdom of Oeilvert. Shortly into the Kingdom existence there was a civil war to determine would lead this country, of which Leonide and her sister would be thrust into. Trained in the art of swordsmanship and magic by one of the throne's claimants, Leonide performed relatively well against multiple opponents, and served with distinction throughout the Kingdom for the duration of the war. Upon the war's conclusion in 1813, Leonide became one of the six Lord Generals of the Kingdom of Oeilvert.

Going to be using a skeleton template for two characters I was supposed to put on here but got lost so never did yet.

Title: The Fallen Priestess.

Race: Human/Devil hybrid

Gender: Female

Appearance: (Character's Physical Appearance and Attire, At least 3 sentences for Appearance and Attire each.) will update later today.

Agi stands at five feet and ten inches which is relatively high for someone like her. Having straight black mid length hair and purple eyes she gives off a striking appearance that would draw stares from just about anyone. Adding in her soft complexion and slim build but also modestly endowed she sticks out no matter where she goes
- Attire: A shrinemadin type outfit with many flasks beneath her clothes. She has a belt aroundher waist which holds a total of fifteen. Then she has a set of back strapswhich hold ten on her back. Finally a set of smaller bottles which are morelike small fist size glass containers go along her arms, a set of five for eacharm. The top half of her out fit is white with a cut at the shoulders open and only held together by the lower portion of the split. A thin red trim runs down the sides of the upper half of her garment as well. The bottom half of her outfit is a red knee length skirt.

- NoteworthyFeatures: Six demonic angelic wings sprout from her back. Note they only startto appear when she starts to use higher forms of her magic. As such they canappear at intervals of two, four, and six.


Drawback to using powers, needs to drink alcohol two tothree minutes after using powers. Also the amount she drinks or what she drinksrelates to how much of her powers she uses and how she uses them. Example afireball would require a sip of something light like beer. Where as say maybesummoning a fire tornado or lightning storm would require a flask of whisky.


Personality: Agi's personality is on a constant state of flux due to the nature of her powers. Most of the time though she will give off a calm and collected presence. She is the type not to rush into things, but will defend herself if provoked. Seeming more wise then her years would indicate she is also quite knowledgeable. Though this of course is not the case when beginning to enter or exit a battle high. Due to the negative effects of her powers that cause her to drink alcohol she begins to display traits of a pyromaniac and domnimatrix.

Abilities: Fire manipulation- As the name implies can control and manipulate fire to various degrees. Small fireballs to summoning a firestorm
Electric manipulation- The same as her fire except for electric, thunder/lightning etc.
Holy imbuement- Can add a holy property to her magic thus giving advantage against undead, devils, and those who are generally weak to it.
Can't get drunk- Partly from the lingering effects of procession, and partly from drinking so long she can't get drunk.
Flight- With her wings sprouted she can fly.

History: Grew up in a family that trained Priest/Priestess/ShrineMaidens, that were also part of a larger group. The first born son and daughterwho take on the head roles for taking care of the shrine that that family wasresponsible for and any further children would take on assistance roles. Tohelp them in their duties they were trained in the ways of magic. This traininghad various purposes from combat uses to healing uses. The healing was leftmostly to the assistance while combat was taught to the heads for more use inexorcism. It was during one such exorcism that something went wrong and Agiended up being partially possessed by a demon, though eventually cleansed shedid not come out of it unscathed. That is to say she took on a slight traitfrom it and was adversely affected from it. Whenever she started to use higherlevels of her magic, demonic angelic looking wings would sprout from her backsignifying her taint, as well as now her curse. She had to start drinking afterusing her powers. Failure to consume any alcoholic beverage would have her slipinto a psychotic state where she would lose a sense of self. Personality: Decuo is a serious individual to start with, andnot one to take things lightly. She tends to look at things with the intent ofsomething going wrong or the person having an ulterior motive. Naturally thisleads her to having a hard time building trust to people she first meets. Evenstill after knowing a person for a while and building up trust, she expectssome form of betrayal so it takes a long time till she lets her guard aroundanyone. Though also one to relax and have a good time when the opportunity presentsitself.
Appearance: Since a member of a tiger humanoid race shestands at a respectable 5 foot six inches, as well as a tiger pattern furcovering her entire body. Her tail length is eight inches and generally standsat a slight curve up behind her. She also has green eyes and dirty blondeshoulder length hair that seems to blend in with her fur. Her fur is the samedirty blonde color but with brown stripes. Around her waist wears a belt withtwo 8 inch long curved daggers for combat, and two pouched filled with 5 inchones used for throwing to execute her abilities.

Attire: Wears little clothing since fur covers her entirebody which keeps her plenty warm. Only a small white halter top like cloth forher chest, which covers only that and her backside, she wears a small greenopen vest over that as well. She also wears a pair of blue shorts with a holecut in the back for her tail, and wears a pair of open air sandals.

Abilities:
Shadow Strike- By throwing one of her many daggers at an opponent’sshadow, if the dagger hits a body part that part is rendered unmovable.
Were Tigger- Enters a slightly berserk like state. Becomesmore aggressive, has more muscle mass and becomes faster as well. Becomes veryviolent and will even attack allies if approached without caution.
Shadow Meld: Can melt into the shadows and travel wherever shadowsare connecting. However if object blocks path cannot move through it onlyaround it. Her original shadow stays in place until she re-emerges.
Shadow Sacrifice- If connected to an opponent’s shadow caninflict self-harm to herself to inflict the same type of wound on an opponent.Example slashing her arm would cause the same type of slash on her opponent.
Shadow Snare- Can launch her shadow to try and ensnare an opponent’s.The more shadows around her the longer she can project hers.

History: (Once again very brief due to the case of how beingused, actual submission later will be longer)
Decuo grew up in an isolated forest, as large interactionbetween Worrens and other species was low. Sure if you traveled to a busy tradetown you would see a few around but as far as living together with otherspecies side by side in the same town as a group you would never see that. Theywere a proud race and greatly admired their strength and bond with nature.Growing up Decuo trained herself mostly in the forest since it was heavilydense it would require her to make use of another trait the worrens were knownfor and proud of, their agility. She would need to learn to move quicklythrough the forest and get around some of it’s natural obstacles if she were toreach her prey, since another part of their tribes forest living they had tohunt to survive. To make further use of her agility Decuo further trained inthe aspect of throwing knives and dagger use for her precision attacks. Notsatisfied with the simple village life and wanting to see more of the worldwith her own eyes, Decuo left the village as an adventurer at the age of 26alone and thus has been traveling town to town. She makes her living performingvarious tasks whether it’s an escort for a cargo wagon or even salying a beastthat could be troubling a town.

To allow extra time for people for people to finish their bios, I will be extended the period for people to have their bios completed to June 8th, which will be when the tournament will be started.

However the cut-off for new RPers to participate will remain for Monday, June 1.
