Title here says it all, really, but the title of the actual article gave me legit lulz.

AT&T wants to know why a town is building a 1Gbps network when it already offers 6Mbps DSL

Basically, a city in Kansas is looking to create it's own fiber network that far outstrips AT&Ts current setup. AT&T has officially filed against this movement in an attempt to interfere and stop the city from legally laying their own fiber. This is by no means the first time a major ISP has directly attempted to interfere with better alternatives to the current ISP monopoly here in the US.

It does make me wonder, though, about what the current landscape is abroad? Would any non-United States citizens be able to clue me in as to what the state of the current ISP model is in their country?
