IT'S ABOUT TIME.
I mean, seriously, what took so long? Putting aside all the unjust negativity surrounding FFXII for a minute (which is like moving a jumbo jet with your bare hands, but there we go...) the world of Ivalice in general has some highly memorable tracks. A piano composition of the opening movie and the Theme of the Empire are reason enough alone to be excited; both are fantastic pieces. Piano albums in general are something that I almost always enjoy (I say almost always because not even a piano could salvage FFXIII's miserable excuse for OST) so this is something to look forward to. Hopefully not for very long. I actually quite liked the piano collections for FFI-VI, so I expect the same sort of high standard they had for those...only higher, because it's FFXII, and thereby better.
Esper Battle theme, please. Now. I also think an entirely piano version of To The Place of the Gods would sound amazing. The Stillshrine of Miriam would be VERY interesting indeed; it doesn't sound like it'd work on paper, but then, I never imagined Gods Bound By Rules would work in piano format either. Ooo, and Clash of Swords. I could go on.
I'm pretty sure there is a fan album (or is it a fan album? I'm not sure; it must be, if they're announcing this) floating around which has almost every track of FFXII in piano format already, but recent piano collections put out by Square Enix have been fairly good, so unless they compose every track in the same way they composed Ashes of Dreams on the NieR piano album, I don't see how they can screw this up...please, for the love of everything sacred, don't prove me wrong. PLEASE.
Well, would you look at that. A positive post. Some of you (mentioning no names, because I really don't need to; you know who you are) might want to bookmark this for future reference.
...heaven help you if you're trolling me, Ulty

I can't believe it hasn't been released yet. Like, I'm genuinely shocked. Why would it take so long? I'm not a fan of FFXII, but I won't deny that FFXII had a number of great tracks. It shouldn't have taken six years to come out with the piano collection.
Well anyway, I'm glad to see it being made. I can't wait to hear the cd.

Wonderful news! they're revisiting the masterpieces from the old FFXII. I love this game to bits, before Skyrim and other sandbox RPGs, came this baby. I love it so.
