[FF Clans] What's Going On This Fortnight

Following LukeLC's suggestion, I thought I'd make a general thread for updates on FF of the Week! This thread is where you can come to view updates! Hendra and I will copy the general FF of the Week post here to let you know which FF we are celebrating. This should make it a lot easier for those of you who've had to search the forums for updates and info!


So, to begin, Final Fantasy XII week is coming to a close tomorrow! Next in line is Final Fantasy X-2 week! Details coming soon! *starts preparing them*

After Final Fantasy XII Week, we have:

Final Fantasy X-2 Week
[18/06/2012 - 25/06/2012]

As per usual, we have two quizzes, one of which will focus on the Events and Characters of Final Fantasy X-2 and the other will focus on the World and Miscellaneous of Final Fantasy X-2. Everyone is welcome to take part in these and you are all eligible for a prize tag and forum award should you win! Those who are members of the clans will also receive points for their clan; I encourage all members to have a go! The winner will receive 2 points and runners up will receive 1 point for their clan.

The FFX-2 Dressphere Competition (for clan members only) has been extended to the 19th June. Cid will then post a voting thread so look out for that; we will update this thread when voting begins.

The discussion thread for the following competition can be found here.

In a couple of weeks (after Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XIII week) we will be hosting FFIV week! For this I plan to create some sort of riddle/anagram challenge, which should be fun, but methinks it would be great to have a competition too!

I challenge you all to write a series of haikus for the main characters Cecil Harvey, Kain Highwind, Rosa Farrell and Rydia.

For those of you who aren't sure what a haiku is, it's a 3 line poem consisting of 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second and 5 syllables in the third and final line. Further details on haikus can be found here.

- DO NOT mention the name of the character whom the haiku is about. Let the words reveal who they are.
- Write one haiku per character.
- I know 3 lines, 17 syllables, doesn't leave you with much room, but view it as a challenge in which every word must count.

- Send 4 haikus to Lirael.
- Due date: 2nd July 2012.

Haikus can be truly beautiful poems so crossed fingers we have some fantastic entries!

After Final Fantasy III and V Week, it'll be time to celebrate Final Fantasy I and II! (16th to 23rd July)

Final Fantasy II introduced many elements that would later become staples of the Final Fantasy franchise, including chocobos and the recurring character Cid

In light of this piece of information, I thought it would be fitting to do something based around these staples: chocobos, moogles, Cid and the airship...

So what's the challenge?

After @Gingerbread Man's suggestion, I want members to create a 1-6 panel comic strip using these. You can use as many of the FF staples (or as few) as you like, but it has to focus on them.

Rules:

• You may bring in FF characters from either FFI or FFII; you can give the FFI character your own, made-up personality or use a few details from FFII to represent one of its characters.
• Please do NOT use characters from FFs III - XIV.
• You MUST use 1 to 6 panels.
• It doesn't have to be funny, but this is recommended - can you make our members laugh?

Due date: 15th July, which will allow me to post the voting thread on the morning of the 16th.

Oh and thanks again for your support and enthusiasm in the battle of the jobs! I'm sorry that it's a week earlier than the actual FFIII&V week. In the future, if we have such battles, I will hold sign-ups 2 weeks before, and the actual battle will be on the designated week.

SerahxNoel Fortnight!

Just a disclaimer... we will have SerahxSnow Fortnight too! =) Don't worry! We just thought we'd celebrate this one first and we had quite a nice idea for a competition!

Anywho, one again, we have a quiz (created by Hendra) which will be active on the 20th. You can find it here.

In regards to FF Fortnights: Hendra and I have agreed that Final Fantasy Weeks will now become Final Fantasy Fortnights. This should give everyone more time to enter competitions and to truly celebrate each Final Fantasy, couple, character etc. We hope Fortnights will be even better!
