The point is that it's a bit hypocritical to complain about a staff member using virtually the exact same language you do when they are talking to you - for example, when one tells a staffer to "calm the fuck down" may get a bit of a snarky response. Or for being given the same treatment from a staffer that they expect a member who complains to get. When the roles are reversed, those particular members have a tendency to piss and moan about how they're being treated. Yet when they're on the giving end, they don't expect to have any punishment handed out.

In other words, everyone's a victim, and no one is ever at fault.

I think the friction arises when staffers behave in the same manner that we are told not to. If my behavior is considered rude or crude in a particular instance, how does it make sense for the person supposed to be moderating me to use the same language back?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's a significant difference between this thread (and other threads of this nature), and when a staffer is acting in an "official" capacity. This is just discussion, and Shu pretty much set that tone from the jump. Now if I'm in the SB telling people as a warning to shut their filthy whore mouths before I ban the fuck out of them, then by all means, report me. As that's ridiculous, and completely unprofessional. But this.... this is an airing of grievances. Not the same.

If a staff member is acting unprofessionally "in public," I ask - no, beg you to report that behavior.
