I like the idea of his voice being raw and guttural, that'd make a lot of sense really with his mask and nature. At the minute though it is barely discernible muttering which just detracts more than anything

"I don't want to achieve immortality through my work, I want to achieve it by not dying."

my first thought was wow. i'm now torn between that and prometheus for my most anticpiated film right now. it's a very well put together trailer without giving anything away.
bane's voice sounded very over-dubbed though unfortunately

I liked Bane's original voice better, surprisingly. I agree that it sounded over dubbed. The original was actually not too hard to understand in the last trailer and it was kind of cool. It now sounds kind of weird and more in the style of the Arkham games version, where he's kind of dumb rather than a genius.

I couldn't under stand a word Bane said in the original trailer, something about expecting maybe. I think he does sound a bit dubbed over in on of the clips where he speaks, but by no means slow-witted or stupid. I didn't find this trailer overly thrilling though to be honest

filmed in my hometown of pittsburgh, this movie screwed up traffic everywhere... i have friends who are notably seen extras in the movie. i am curious as to how they are gonna tell this story as bane really to me wasn't that big of a villain. i was thinking the riddler would make an appearance or penguin. what i like about how these latest batman movies are done. they make it more real. not like the old ones being kinda comic book-esc.
Remember You Are Mortal

That is because you are wrong
In the comics Bane is ruthless and intelligent as well as strong, he is Batman without any rules. He was one of the first ever enemies to discover that Batman was in fact Bruce Wayne. He sprung a lot of inmates from Arkham and then observed Batman fighting them one after another, to learn more about his enemy as well as exhaust him mentally and physically. When Batman arrives home at Wayne Manor after finally beating the joker after a week of battling all his toughest foes, Bane is there waiting for him. He batters Bruce and snaps his spine, before tossing him out in the street.
Batman is wheelchair bound for a long time afterwards, and iosn't even the person who finally defeats Bane. So yeah, he's a big villain
As for being more real, how would a man in a bright green suit having themed robberies with clues, or a penguin man be more realistic than a brutal career criminal?
Thanks to Ari

look how they did bane.. so you can get comic book esc. but not too much like the older movies. penguin to me was always seen as a more a mob boss type. riddler could just be in a green business suit or something.. change it up a bit.. leave batman clues to catching him only to stay one step ahead at all times.. a lot can be done.
i never read any of the batman comics. was always an x-men person.. dunno why.. but i owned a ton of x-men.
from what i saw in the watered down cartoons of batman.. (late 90's) bane was only strong as he had that mask on..and it never really intregued me to look further into him.. and he for some reason was always a lackey of poison ivy. (would be bad ass to have had her in the movie)
Remember You Are Mortal

The Joker in the previous movie was very camp and comicesque while still being ground in reality, I don't see how you can accept that but not what they did with Bane. So. far all we have seen is that he wears the mask and some military style gear, what is so unbelievable? Don't make your judgement based on what you yourself called a watered down cartoon.
Without the venom(his performance enhancer) he is still Batman's physical equal, but has no problem with killing. Not to mention working out Batman's identity and trailing him to his lair after exhausting him is pretty damn clever
