Exercise.

I go for 4 - 5 walks a week in local forested areas. These last 1 - 2 hours and I've been walking in these areas with my family for years! I'm determined to stay healthy, get healthier, and do everything I can to prevent osteoporosis, which runs in my family. I refuse to wait 'til I have a problem before I tackle it.

Furthermore, I want to avoid gaining weight. Between the ages of 14 and 17, I weighed 10 stone and felt so unhappy. I managed to lose 2 stone and am determined to maintain this healthy weight. :) I love to eat (wholesome meals, with quite a lot of fruit, veg and yogurt throughout the day, plus some chocolate), so exercise is kinda important!

I mainly do long bike ride trips on trails and cardio workouts to my favorite music.

:highfive:

I go to the gym 4 days a week. Monday, Wednesday, Friday alternates between upper body/lower/upper and then lower/upper/lower and so on... I also do a mix between interval(HIIT) training of 30 seconds sprints and 2 minute rests or 1 minute sprints and 1 minute rests the former peaking at 67kph and the latter 55kph. Also hill training for 20 minutes which varies depending resistance I'm using as to how many hills are 'climbed'. Lastly, time trials varying of 5km and 10km, the former peaked at 5km in 6 minutes 32 seconds, the latter yet to be done.

On a Saturday I do 'long rides' and add 10km every week. I've done 10/20/30/40/50km rides thus far so by the end of this university term my final week will be 100km. I don't do 5aside atm since I'm at uni but once the Xmas holidays 5aside will most likely replace cycling until I'm back at uni again.

Atm I'm targeting core. :ohshit:

I'm doing 20-40+ reps of kicks.

I'll do 20 leg kicks and 20 body or head kicks. Then I'll do 20-40 front kicks or front push kicks /other. Then 20-40 side kicks. Or 20-40 hook kicks or crescent kicks or whatever. And I'll throw some knees in too.

I try to do them slow enough that supporting my leg in the air will hopefully work my core area some. When I first started doing it, some months back, I could feel it working fairly well. But, now I'm to the point where its not having an effect.

I'm moderating my diet and eating less to try to adopt that negative caloric intake thing people extol sometimes.

Usually I do this as I'm watching a documentary, a movie, or something on tv. It helps me avoid thinking about how boring and repetitive everything is...

I still eat more than I should some days but for the most part my pants are feeling looser around my waist. I'm not overweight I just never really understood the proper way to train core in terms of aesthetics and how to get rid of belly fat.

I would do 50-200 crunches or something everyday or another conventional approach & eat whatever I wanted. Never had an effect. My body fat was around 8% and my back was decently shredded but my belly was pretty average.

I've also been trying Eric Wong's stuff:

I'm slacking a lot.

Seeing some results though. : D

Last year I do Taekwondo two times a week. In cross-country last year I came 3rd out of 40 year 12's. I temporarily quit Taekwondo this year due to school being my last year as a year 12 and that I have to prepare for WACE exams. Now I've become less active to a point where I really struggled doing cross-country this year (had to walk throughout most of the course) . The least I can do is do sit-ups and push-ups as a form of physical activity.

I am lazy.

I remember at one stage I got really active and would use my skipping rope every afternoon after work and then put on a Music DVD and dance around to it and use my 1kg dumbbells and my abroller.

Then I got lazy and all I do now is sit on the lounge when I get home.

I do a bit of running around the house doing chores and what not but not enough to make me fit. =/

I would love to change that though. I would love to go to a gym and socialise but I have no one to go with. =/ I hate going to places like that on my own.

When I get the motivation to do so, I can work out at a steady pace. It's nothing of athlete status, but it gets me going, and when the tough get going, I try not be the one who quits and be lazy. Sure enough, I do tend to lack the motivation to actually work out on a daily basis. Actually, I should change that. :hmmm:

Back in High school, I was able to run pretty decent, and my motivation was much higher than it is now. I guess it's because I really don't do much but sit around the house and watch tv and other lazy stuff. :lew:

I usually go first thing in the morning (try to get there by 6AM) 6 days a week - I was really big into weights in college but trying to cut down the mass now so I primarily do cardio for 30-40 minutes.

It sucks getting out that early at first but once you get into a routine you'll feel like dog balls if you don't go. Just sets my head straight for the day.

I run laps of a rugby pitch twice a week, currently I do ten continuous laps on each day and try and do more continuous laps than the previous week, every week. I also have two, two hour, fencing training sessions a week. I have slacked off in the bast three weeks though, I have had somewhat valid excuses each time. After the midterm I will resume my full regimen

Ehh, I do nothing. I walk around during the day and stuff like that, but I never actually try to run or anything like that. When we get to Florida, It'll be easier to exercise. The place we're going has a gym as a part of it. it's also a huge place, so I can go outside and walk around without having to worry about getting hit by a car. Other than that, I'm just lazy. I'd rather stay inside and watch TV or play WWE 13. Luckily, I have a yo-yo of a body. I gain alot and lose alot of weight pretty quickly, regardless of what I do.

I'm back at the gym as of last week, though not using the school gym like I did a few years back. For $10 a month, it's not bad at all. Only been there twice this week, but I plan on heading there tomorrow afternoon before it gets really busy. Ever since I've started exercising again, I feel a little better about things in general. Trying to get some of those good vibes back since it gets tiring being surrounded by negative energy. Also doing it for health reasons, of course. I actually hate running on the treadmill, but with music blasting on my iPhone, it helps with the time. In the mornings, my kids and I go for 40 minutes walk/jog, then another 40 minutes in the afternoon, so even when I'm not exercising in the gym, I get a bit of exercise daily. I can't exercise at home...it's just not happening.

My husband also signed up for a membership, but he goes early in the morning (leaves home at 4:45 a.m) before heading straight to work. So I'm pretty happy that we've both got this. I think last month took a toll on both of us. Family, kids, work, etc. It's great to be back on track.

With that said, I just had a random thought. Last year around this time, I tried to get back into exercising. It didn't end up going too well because my first day out, my daughter and I got chased by a hobo who claimed I stole his bike. Crazy people.

I used to run regularly, about 4-5 miles, to work most mornings and then do longer distances at the weekends. I've since switched from mornings to late afternoons but recently less regularly (the colder wetter months is a bitch). Before the slacking I did between 4-6 miles 3 times a week and a 10k at the weekend however now i'm just doing 3 miles 3 times a week (if I can get myself out there). I'm hoping to work myself back up to an easy 10k again soon and begin working towards 10 miles before half marathon.

I'd like to, once more financially sound, get a gym membership. I don't like gyms all that much but I could really do with working on other parts of my body. I'd also like to take Taekwondo back up or maybe get into Muay Thai.

Muay Thai is one of the most rewarding martial arts I've ever trained in as well as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I'd definitely recommend it as long as you can find a good gym full of disciplined/helpful members.

Three years ago, I had joined the gym and it forever changed my life. In the summer of 2013 I lost roughly 25 pounds. The smallest I've been is 115 but I gained comfort weight being with my boyfriend.

I know its because of society, but I used to get bullied hard from being overweight so I'm always trying to lose weight. right now I'm 130.

I used to be very overweight and unhealthy. Although I'd use the home exercise machine, it was broken and did not get my heart rate high enough to burn anything so the gym does help get your blood pumping.

If I had it may way, I'd workout everyday, but I go to the gym 6 times a week and go for a hour each time with cardio and weights both.

I can't say I have the best diet as of right now, but weight loss is mainly the change in your diet. I'm not really seeking to lose weight as of right now, per say, but to clean up my diet. Especially because I have high blood pressure.

I could talk about this all day, working out is my drug, but I'll stop :wacky:

Here about 2 ago weeks I got a gym membership because I'm tired of sitting around and doing nothing. So, I wanted to try and better myself by getting in shape.
Since then, I've been going to the gym 7 times a week. I do cardio for an hour everyday, and I want to add on to that every so often. I'm not much into lifting weights. I just love to do cardio and go pure beast mode on the bike and the Arc Trainer.

It's weird though because my 1st day it was tough doing both machines. On my 2nd day though it was an easy transition and my body seemed to adapt rather quickly.

Anywhoo, hurray for exercise! :reptar:

I am still a member of snap fitness, but have fallen off due to Soccer and running. I have a plan to get from 191 to 172. I am pretty fit as it is, but I want to be super lean to run a marathon come Feb. I stacked on a lot of lean muscle with legs and shoulders, but want to cut the excess out while not pissing particulars off.

This year I've ran the following and received the following times:

1/2 Marathon in April - 1:41.??
10k in May - 39.33
1/2 Marathon in December - 1.51.??

I am thinking to train and get down to around a 3hr 40min marathon pace. The last time I ran one was in 2010.
