You need to finish the Antlion hunt first, then when you talk to the boy he mentions dropping the key down the chasm. Then you go to the Phon Coast and search AROUND the Bhujerban. You don't actually need to speak to him. There should be a shiny sparkle on the ground and then you get the key.

Make sure to steal the Genji gloves from him, Masamune + Genji Gloves = 8 hit Combos endlessly.
