Tarot. For many in this world this is something that merely divines fate. For others it is religion, and something to be worshiped. For more still it is a cheap trick, used so that fortune tellers can acquire some money.

Yet to very few is it real, manifest power, able to destroy or create the world anew with ease. For very few is it something to be taken up as a weapon against another, something for defense, offense, or sheer selfish desire.

These people are called the Wielders. They are humans who have become instruments of Tarot and of Fate, with the desire to take their power further and transcend their mortal coils.

For years the four factions have been opposing one another. The Factions of Swords, Cups, Pentacles, and Wands. They are always battling for dominance and the 20 Major Arcana. This is an age-long conflict, and no one is willing to back down.
The Swords
Swords desire nothing more than power. They revel in conflict and force, and of all the factions, are often the quickest to turn to actual physical aggression and jump straight into the fray, regardless of whether their influence will be for the better or the worse. While they are capable of reason and rational thought, they are prone to violent outbursts and judgmental tendencies, and are also prone to delivering physical and mental abuse when in a negative spiral. They represent the element of air and can materialize swords in their hands. In order from weakest to strongest, these are the weapons they can materialize.

Angel Blades Archangel Blade Principality Blade Power Blade Virtue Blade Dominion Blade Throne Blade Cherub Blade Seraphic Blade (Reserved exclusively for the Queen of Swords)

The Wands
Driven by creativity, originality and intuition Full of questioning, compassionate desire, they act on initiative and deep thought, but can be full of procrastination and get bored with their projects easily. They can even be condescending and dismissive to those around them, developing selfish, egotistical complexes and self delusional, as well as spiraling into despair at a great life change.
They represent the element of air and can materialize wands. In order from weakest to strongest, these are these are the wands they can materialize

The Limbo Wand

The Cups
The Cups are emotional, vibrant people, brimming with compassion and intelligence. Less likely to engage in unnecessary bloodshed, they are considerably more compassionate than the other suits and act with their hearts over their hands, enjoying a daydream and impulses of creativity. However, if something happens to shake their world, they may get over-emotional or lose emotion all together, becoming apathetic to cope and escaping into unrealistic fantasies. They represent the element of Water and can materialize daggers. From weakest to strongest, these are the daggers they can materialize.

Please post the Faction you wish to be a part of too. Remember. Only two non leader major arcana to a faction to start with.

OK. We have one cup, one Wands and some undefined positions filled.

In which case both Wands positions, a Swords position and a Cups position have been filled. Those that wish to be in Wands but want a higher Arcana will get it early in the RP.

To let you know that I am serious to joining this...

Name: Karmen Starr
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Appearance:
anime-guy-blue-hair.jpg

Personality: The best description? Absolutely random. He changes the way he acts, talks, even his posture and his mood as time changes. As if affected by some unknown whim, he can become talkative and cheerful one second, and then mood swing to sullen and silent the next.
Be careful. He is unstable.
Faction: Cups: The Inconstant Dagger
Major Arcana (if any): Wheel of Fortune, number X
History: Most of Karmen's history is going to be a little.... odd. For some reason, fate likes to play games with him, giving good luck one day, bad luck the next.

Karmen was born on Friday the 13th. No one remembers the month, just the day. Yet despite that, everything about him was perfectly normal. As he grew older, it became believed that he was luck incarnate. In every card game he played, he either won all of them, or lost all of them. (Whenever he lost, he played the winners the next day for higher stakes, so he got his money back.)

Sometime later, he discovered Tarot Cards. After using them for fun at predicting people, he became interested and looked deeper into them. He finally discovered it was a way of life, and he earned himself the power of the Inconstant Dagger, one of the Cups. After that, he began to research the Major Arcana, to help power his action. One in particular interested him: Number X, the Wheel of Fortune. Packing his bags and disappearing from his home, he went to the place that made the most sense for it to be:

LAS VEGAS!

After arriving in Las Vegas, he began to wander the casinos. He kept searching for the one player who never lost. Finally, he found a man dressed in lucky charms and gambling clothes, the rattle of dice could be heard as he moved and he was always shuffling a pack of cards. He also gave off the feeling that he was more powerful then normal. Karmen confronted him, and challenged him to a duel suiting the Arcana: 5 games of Blackjack, whoever won the most would win. The stakes?

Karmen won: Fortune would become his arcana.
Fortune won: Karmen would become his slave for life.

Dealing in, Fortune won two swiftly. 21 to 20, 21 to 19. Then Karmen got a lucky break, earning himself a 21 to Fortune's 20. The next game was a tie, so they didn't count it. The following one Karmen won, 21 to 25 (BUST!). This was close. Then the final game arrived: Karmen started with a Jack and a Queen, and Fortune had a King and an unknown card. Karmen debated whether or not to hit, but when Fortune stayed, Karmen decided to go with the odds and hit. He got an Ace, scoring twenty-one to Fortune's 20.

After that showdown, Karmen made Fortune uphold his part of the bargain, and now Karmen possessed the Major Arcana Wheel of Fortune.

Which faction, Oblivion?

Thanks Shadow. Looking forward to the end product.

OK. Both Sword positions have been filled at this point. One Cups and both Pentacles positions remain open. Please tell me which faction you'd like to be a part of.

I WANT THE LOVERS.

Quick posting to reserve those.. now finishing reading the rest of the post, and figuring out where goes what. :monster:

No no. You've filled up the Swords position :lew:

Pentacles or Cups, Channy?

Cups please. :3 I suppose it goes hand in hand with the Lover's Dagger? Or am I second in command, or...

Sorry, it's a tad confusing, and so many posts going on. x_X
