I decided I didnt quite like the druid enough to edit it, so decided to go with an edited version of the Wraith I made for an active RP.

ORPG/URPG/RPB Character.

Name: Raym Paulus

Title: The Undying, The Wraith.

Age: ??? (Human Raym, deceased aged 45)

Gender: Male

Race: Wraith

A being of pure shadow that feeds on the chaos within other lifeforms to sustain its physical form. Wraith's are known to be that of a twisting shadow that traverses between the material and etheral realms, doomed after a past sin or a failure to let go to be forever bound unto the Darkness of eternity, becoming nothing more than a hate filled spectre who's only goal is to feed on the souls of the living.

Allignment: Evil/Chaotic, Self serving and hell bent on seeking his next feast of souls to sustain his life force. Shares no alliegance to anyone but himself.

Appearance: As a creature of undeathly shadow, Raym has no solid shape and appears a a mere cloud of anguish, constantly twisting and reshaping with each blow of the wind, The most prominent features of Raym are his ghastly white hot eyes and sinister grin, that even despite the shapelessness of the creature known most commonly as a Wraith, Hold significant sembalance that he does indeed, still have control over his actions.

Raym can shape parts of himself to become solid for a short period of time, and even steal corpses of the fallen as a Vessel for him to act through, The body often taking on twisted demonic features signifying that the body no longer belongs to that of its former host spirit.

The most notable feature of Raym is the fact that he has complete sentinence, most Wraiths have no control over there actions other than there desire to feed, Raym also suffers from this same need but is far more driven than most Wraith's as the one thing he seeks most of all can only be obtained after the mightest opponent has fallen, and that is to be whole once more and free of the Wraith's curse for eternity.

Attire: As with all Wraith's, Raym appears to wear a long raggedy hooded cloak, covering his etheral body almost completely, the hood is normally baggy and covers most of the Wraith's head area, only a pair of glowing eyes and a demonic smile can be seen underneath.

Personality: Manipulative and decieving, Raym cares very little about those he works with nor does he care about those he fights against, Raym only seeks to forward his own goals of obtaining a body that can sustain his overpowering malice, as his previous attempts have often only sustained his form for a short while. Aging and withering rapidly as the energies of darkness were far too much for the host body to contain, forcing him to leave the body lest becoming trapped in a decaying vessel for eternity.

Raym is normally not one for banter, and has little patience for curiosity, Normally becoming impatient with opponents that try to ask too many questions in there pitiful attempts to defend themselves or better understand what they are fighting.

Raym usually only ever says a few words, and most of time it has a lot to do with feeding on fresh souls or even sensing a potential host body, he often speaks with an etheral hiss to his voice that carries on the wind signifying that in his previous life, he may have had his tongue split at some point or other.

First Impression: To look upon a Wraith is to stare at the very face of death itself, Raym is no different to this and has often caused the most stoic of would-be opponents to go weak at the knees and flee at the sight of this terrifying creature.

Strength: Wraiths are not at all renowned for there Physical strength as they cannot act physically without a host body and will heavily rely on trickery, deception and magic. With a strong host body however, a Wraith can unnaturally enhance the muscular structure of the body, potentially doubling its physical strength, if the body could previously lift a car, they can now lift a truck with ease.

Vitality: In terms of physical weaponry, Wraiths are extremely difficult to hit being that they are creatures of twisting shadow that are mostly based in the etheral realm, however against enchanted weaponry or Magic, Raym is at a disadvantage especially against those trained in Holy magic as Magic can easily injure an etheral based creature. However Shadow will only make the Wraith grow stronger, so Shadow based mages and even warriors are at quite the disadvantage against Raym, whereas Priests, Paladins and Elementalists hold a large advantage.

In a host body, everything changes, as the Wraith is now incased in a physical being and can be hurt with any weaponry, The body does also serve as a form of protection against magic, so Raym is less likely to feel the ill effects of an ornatment and other such tools of holy device.

Speed: Wraiths are unnatural creatures and therefore are unnaturally quick, often moving short distances quicker than most human beings ever could, Wraith's do tend to hover however and can be slow to pick up to top speed, but once they get to top speed, few can outrun a Wraith.

In a host body, Raym is usually a lot slower due to the restriction of muscles pushing back the potential, most host bodies Raym chooses are usually built for brute strength so speed is definatley not a strong point.

Stamina: Raym durablity in the physical realm, is entirely based on how well he has fed, the more souls he has fed on, the longer he can maintain physical presence, and the longer he maintains this presence the more he will hunger for fresh souls. Wraith's are notoriously difficult to kill and those that have defeated a Wraith have normally resorted to simply banishing them to the etheral plane by either starving them out, magic or destroying there host body, if they have taken one.

In a host body, Raym once again assumes the characteristics of that host, the more Stamina they have, the better as this is what will help Raym to sustain himself without having to worry about exposure to his true self.

Reflexes: Raym does not really have reflex'es due to being a twisting creature born of malicious hatred and a refusal to accept death, due to his nature Raym often has no need of quick reflexes due to his form being much more difficult to hit than that of a mere living creature.

In a host body, Raym still tends to have sluggish reflexes, often due to his favoring of Brutish type host bodies rather than nimble and agile types, this one thing could be one of Raym's biggest flaws at times.

Fighting Style: Raym tends to enjoy the un-nerving appearance he has and often uses this leverage to his advantage, seeking to manipulate his opponent or even intimidate them with a few harsh words and his wailing laughter that carries through the night air.

Raym is no mere trickster however and can more than back up his words with his heavy arsenal of spells and udying rage he can easily become a handful for any opponent especially those that are too arogant and proud to realise they are being lead into a trap.

In a host body Raym still holds a sense of Terror over his foes and will not tarry due to the decaying nature of the host body often seeking to finish a fight quickly with no remorse shown to man, woman and children alike.

Weapons: Staff of the Rift: A strange staff born entirely of Chaotic energy, the staff has no solid shape as it constantly twists and reshapes to its owners desires. It also has the innate property of staying with its owner weather the owner is possessing a host or in Wrath form, The staff glows with a strange hue of green when Raym is conjuring magic, a sign that the staff has taken physicality making it possible to be destroyed with a well placed blow.

Abilities:

Mental Gateway: Ushering a strange language often thought to have been forgotten in bygone years, Raym delves deep into his opponents psyche, able to read there every thought and peer into there deepest darkest secrets, Through this mental connection, Rayne can fear and even bring on shock with the power of suggestion, whispering ideas and deep painful truths into there heads and masquerading as there conscience. As he delves deeper into there psyche a new secret can be discovered, and a further potential weapon to use against his enemies is added to his arsenal. To maintain mental gatway, Raym has to shift between the physical and etheral realms, exposing him to magic, most notibly Holy based magic. Mental Gateway is a maintained skill and will drain Raym's energy the longer it is maintained, thus weakening the link.

Possession: (requries fallen soldiers/corpses) As a creature born from the resistance to fully accept death, Raym can innatley possess the living, however to do so requires an enormous amount of concentration and energy and those with strong souls have been known to outright resist a Wraith's attempt at possession. Successful Posessions will allow Raym to take complete physical form, altering the possessed host's features to appear much more twisted and demonic. With this control Raym has every control over the helpless host and only a shock or the heavy decay of the host itself can force Raym to abandon them.

Wraith form (innate): Raym is a creature of pure malice and hatred born from a refusal to except death in his past life, due to this, Raym is doomed to wander between both the physical and etheral realm as a creature that feeds upon the chaos that resides in the souls of each and every creature, weather it be there deepest fears or there darkest secrets. Because of this Raym appears as a shadowy spectre that is extremely difficult to hurt by physical contact, however those skilled in magic most notibly holy magic have been known to drive Wraiths away, and Raym is no stranger to this weakness. It is also said that some songs have been known to sooth the rage of the Wraith forcing it to back to the etheral plane of existence for a short time, weather there is truth in this legend has yet to be discovered.

Nightmare: Delving deep into the mind of his victims and focusing on there inner most fear, Raym causes the victim to hallucinate and there Deepest Darkest fear to materialise, This Creature born of fear will proceed to stalk and attack its victim using the upper hand of the victims fear as a weapon. Nightmares cannot be seen by the naked eye, but they can be seen by the victim themselves. Nightmares are semi-physical by nature and can be injured or even destroyed by magic and some forms of physical weaponry depending on the embodiment of the fear itself. Nightmare is a maintained effect and will be entirely dependent on the fear manifestation on the amount of damage it does, Larger manifestations tend to more physically punishing, able to inflict quite heavy crushing damage, whereas smaller manifesations tend to be more psycholigically damaging, making it more difficult for the oppnent to concentrate or cast, It requires a great deal of concentration for Raym to maintain and will drain his energy more rapidly the longer the manifestation is kept around.

Magic:

Burning Shade: Twisting his shape, Raym attempts to envelop his opponent in a snake like coiling manover, trapping his opponent he then proceeds to allow himself to combust with the very fires of hell severely burning anyone caught in his coiled body, the move is quite telegraphed as Raym's lower torso begins to stretch into a snake like shape and slowly attempts to wrap around giving ample time to fire a counter attack or even escape the clutches of the Wraith -Fire/Etheral Magic type-
Burning shade is extremely painful and will inflict damage based on how long an opponent is coiled up, while maintained Raym cannot act in another other way, due to the combustive nature of the spell, it will draw heavy amounts of energy in a short period of time to maintain.

Shadow Twister: Spinning his etheral staff, Raym chants an ancient incantation, causing the staff to leave his talon'ed hands and transform into a Dark magic infused Tornado attempting to suck everything into its unpredicatable path and crush it within the strength of the high winds. Shadow twister has no set movment and will move completely at random, even possibly back at Raym thus making this a high risk, but also highly rewarding spell -Shadow/Air Magic type-. Shadow twister requires a large amount of energy to initially trigger, and will often leave Raym feeling lethargic and weak once the Twister has manifested.

Dark blast: As with most casters of the dark arts, Raym can channel bursts of shadowy energy at ease at his opponents that take a second to form and fly towards there intended target shrouded in shadowy gloom, they travel on a linear path due to there nature, but are highly concussive to those hit by them, and demorialising as each successful blast will draw energy into Raym. Raym may also use this on himself as a form of rejuvinating himself in combat -Shadow Magic Type- Dark blast is very low energy for what it is, Raym being capable of flinging mulitple Dark Blast's at his opponent with relative ease, Each bolt strikes with concussive impact, capable of knocking most opponents backwards or off there feet.

History: In his human life, Raym was a renowned scholar and senator, well studied in the arts of the arcane as well as the various politics of the time. Known for being an excellent public speaker and being gifted with a silk tongue that could sway the hearts and minds of even the most stubborn of opposers. Raym met his grissly fate at the hands of a Jealous Knight, whom had sacked his city and slaughtered his entire family leaving Raym alive until the very last to watch. As the Knight laid his final blow unto Raym, his mind had sank into darkness and dispair staring blankly and coldly at the bloodied and butchered bodies of his family.

Because of the darkness that filled his mind as he fell, Raym refused to cross over and accept that he had truly died at the hands of the Knight, this twisted his mind and his views of everything, becoming brooding and selfish and arogant, transforming him into a being of pure Chaos and hatred.

After becoming a Wraith, Raym would spend some time traversing between both the Physical and Etheral plane, stalking the weak and strong alike, using them as his mere playthings often turning friend against friend in brutal combat and devouring the victors life essence to bolster his form, it was during his Posession of a Count that he fell upon the knowledge of an ancient document that could break his curse. Spend the counts entire fortune and countless hours, Raym finally decifered the text and learned about the werabouts of the document..

Travelling to the location he had. he arrived face to face with a monk carrying a copy of the new animal flora and fauna of the planet, Quickly draining the monk of his life force, Raym took the tome for himself, simply mentioning it was the key to the freedom of the world before departing and spending many a year in the etheral realm trying to discover its secret.

It seems that Raym finally made the breakthrough he needed, and has all the ingredients gathered to make himself whole again...However he would have to defeat the most powerful creature on the planet in order for his dark dreams to be fully realised.

For all of your Abilities and Magic, we need to know how much of Raym's energy will be used, and how much damage it can expect to deal to a typical opponent (where applicable). Assuming that's all kosher, everything else looks fine.

Sorry I missed this one. :gonk:
