Game Recommendation Thread

This thread is about recommending people with games that you have experience or have already played that others might haven't.

I personally recommend those people who haven't played Call of Duty Modern of Warfare 2 and Dissidia Final Fantasy. These two games are very awesome and fun to play. So if you haven't bought them please do so, especially Call of Duty Modern of Warfare 2. You won't be disapointed on buying this game. Trust me, you will enjoy playing it.

I recommend Xenogears. It may be hard to find these days but it's honestly one of the best games I've ever played. The story is superb and the characters are well-developed. I enjoyed the battle system both in and out of the Gears. It had a great soundtrack as well. I also thought it provided a decent challenge as opposed to a lot of recent RPG games.

I also recommend Dante's Inferno for those who hasn't bought it yet. The story is great, the gameplay is awesome, the boss battles are insanely tough, the sound effects and the picture quality are outstanding. It is a awesome game!

That's all I can think of. Ratchet and Clank as well as Jak and Daxter are both phenomenal platformers, although I prefer Ratchet and Clank. The guns are awesome in that game. Arkham Asylum is a hell of a ride. The combat is incredible in that game, and nothing feels better than racking up big chains. Battlefield Bad Company is like MW2 except more team-oriented. Also the first Battlefield game with a half decent single player mode. GRAW 2 is an EXTREMELY overlooked TPS that has, by far, the most addicting co-op mode I've played. No respawns, so you can't just go kamikaze like you can in Halo. Great, great, game. Kingdom Hearts I and II both get real time fights right, with II providing more improvement than I. On the easy side, but both games are must buys. Lost Odyssey is a must buy for any JRPG fan that owns a 360. The story is absolutely BRILLIANT, with possibly the saddest moment in gaming (move over Aerith). The gameplay has a classic feel to it, with some newer additions. Absolutely phenomenal, and my favorite game so far this gen.

I have to recommend the revamped Fallout 3 to everyone. It's such a great game that blends both survival-horror, RPG, and adventure all into one. It has a great storyline and a great combat system. Definitely replayable as there are a variety of different ways to complete the game by virtue of changing your morality now and then.

I second that Tadao.

But I disagree about the storyline. The setting is fantastic, but the main storyline in ivolving the Lone-Wanders father etc is average at best. I actually would say it's outright poor.

However, that's whats great about the game. All the other storylines/quests are brilliant- intelligent and fun. In paricular The Pitt is brilliant from an intellectual stand point.

Hmm, I recommend:

1. Final Fantasy XIII
2. Fable II
3. Assassin's Creed
4. Lost Odyssey
5. Lips
6. Guitar Hero
7. Uncharted 2

But for other consoles stuff like The Sims 3 is always a good play. World of Warcraft, etc. They are cracking fun.

Game: Warcraft III: The Reign of Chaos (PC)
Comments: Hard to find these days, but a pretty awesome game. Multitasking is heavily needed in later missions, but is still good. Four races, each with unique abilities, and if done right you can build an entire army of warriors that can utterly destroy a hapless foe. Plus, the story and campaign missions are very cool. I also recommend its expansion set, The Frozen Throne.

Games: Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest
Comments: SNES versions are rare finds, but there's always the GBA remakes. Though you need excellent "jumping" skills on tough levels, most of the time you're just stomping on enemies (gotta love that "OH!" sound they make when they die). The soundtracks are nice on both. I'd also recommend the third installment, but the first two are way better.

Game: Donkey Kong 64
Comments: GREAT game for the N64. Graphics are pretty nice for a 1999 game, and some enemies are hilarious. A few things it shares with former DK game installments is that its soundtrack will keep playing in your head and the "Game Over" sequence is just...wow. Like all other games, it kinda makes you think "I should have tried harder."

Game: Duke Nukem: Zero Hour (N64)
Comments: Back when 3D Realms was at its prime! Cool weapons, lots of blood, and it's Duke Nukem! When I was younger I laughed at most of his lines, especially ones with movie references, like this one: "I'm going to need your clothes, your boots, and your horse. Um, forget the horse."

Game: Max Payne (PS2)
Another shooting creation from 3D Realms. I passed this game a few times, and there's reasons I keep playing it. Great storyline with plot twists, "bullet time", and okay weapons. Plus, some scenes with the mob are funny.

I also recommend the Jak & Daxter series, Ratchet & Clank 1 2 3 and Deadlocked, and Kingdom Hearts. As for FF games, I'd say II and IX.

Halo 3(if your new to the franchise then this game will get you addicted)

usually,rpg games are games to sell later on when you get all achievements in the game.
