Just been reading the bad Lyrics thread or whatever it's called

And i came up with a idea for a new thread :neomon:

Which Songs In your Opinion have Good lyrics

Tupac - Changes

Iconic in many ways

I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is

Kenny Rogers & Sheena Easton - We've Got Tonight

Very different and still as Epic

I know it's late,I know you're weary
I know your plans don't include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Longing for shelter from all that we see
Why should we worry, no one will care
Look at the stars so far away
We've got tonight
Who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight
Why don't you stay?

Deep in my soul, I've been so lonely
All of my hopes, fading away
I've longed for love, like everyone else does
I know I'll keep searching, even after today

So that there it is
We've got it all now
And here we are
What do you say?

Fire away!

The band Paramore. Every song/album has a great meaning behind it, and actually a story to tell.

That's what I call music. Lyrics with a meaning, not some damn word on repeat with a drum machine going for the beat. It's not felt. Paramore is one of the bands I absolutely love for their lyrics. Not a nice beat to just "set a mood", but also a meaning behind it. I like that.

For example the song When It Rains. A sad song, but absolutely gorgeous.

♫ And when it rains,
On this side of town it touches, everything.
Just say it again and mean it.
We don't miss a thing.
You made yourself a bed
At the bottom of the blackest hole (blackest hole)
And convinced yourself that
It's not the reason you don't see the sun anymore

And no, oh, how could you do it?
Oh I, I never saw it coming.
No, oh, I need the ending.
So why can't you stay...
Just long enough to explain?

And when it rains,
Will you always find an escape?
Just running away,
From all of the ones who love you,
From everything.
You made yourself a bed
At the bottom of the blackest hole (blackest hole)
And you'll sleep 'til May
And you'll say that you don't want to see the sun anymore

And no, oh, how could you do it?
Oh I, I never saw it coming.
And no, oh, I need the ending.
So why can't you stay just long enough to explain?

Take your time.
Take my time.

Take these chances to turn it around. (take your time)
Take these chances, we'll make it somehow
And take these chances to turn it around. (take my...)
Just turn it around.

No, how could you do it?
Oh I, I never saw it coming.
No, oh, how could you do it?
Oh I, I never saw it coming.
No, oh, how could you do it?
Oh I, I never saw it coming.
No, oh I need an ending.
So why can't you stay
Just long enough to explain?

You can take your time, take my time. ♪

Enter Shikari anything can happen in the next half hour <3

i suppose the song is about a guy in love with a girl, but she's not really interested in him and doesnt know he feels. he loses control of himself and is desperate for her to know he feels.

His eyes are locked on her,
Her eyes are fixed elsewhere,
He’s confident, but he's not aware,
She doesn't care.

Their only connection, is the silence that they both grasp,
he's lost control, but she’s not aware, of his stare.
Everything seems to intimidate him, with the strobe lights flashing, her body's jolting,
But cracking, as his eyes, spilt in two, if only she knew...if only!
If only she knew...
The curtain goes down on him again…
Everything seems to be closing in on her,
It feels just like she is being hunted,
But its all right, it's all good,
She’s not aware, of his stare.
We’ve had this date from the beginning…
The curtain goes down on him again…
Who remains when the curtain falls?
Who remains when the curtain goes down...?

Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi. :)

I don't remember the entire song, but here's some lyrics I like:

We got to hold on
To what we can
It doesn't make a difference if we make it or not
We got each other....

Well, I don't remember the rest, but if you've listened to that song you'd know what I'm talking about. :)

Ooo yay, this is the first time a thread has been spawned because of a thread I made. *feels proud*

Definitely "American Pie" by Don McLean

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, theyd be happy for a while.

But february made me shiver
With every paper Id deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldnt take one more step.

I cant remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

So bye-bye, miss american pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
Singin, "thisll be the day that I die.
"thisll be the day that I die."

Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that youre in love with him
`cause I saw you dancin in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.

I was a lonely teenage broncin buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died.

I started singin,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
And singin, "thisll be the day that I die.
"thisll be the day that I die."

Now for ten years weve been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin stone,
But thats not how it used to be.
When the jester sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from james dean
And a voice that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned.
And while lennon read a book of marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.

We were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
And singin, "thisll be the day that I die.
"thisll be the day that I die."

Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?

We started singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
And singin, "thisll be the day that I die.
"thisll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devils only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satans spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died

He was singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
And singin, "thisll be the day that I die.
"thisll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where Id heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldnt play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.

And they were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
Singin, "thisll be the day that I die.
"thisll be the day that I die."

They were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
Singin, "thisll be the day that I die."

It's got great lyrics for a number of reasons. The main thing I liked about it when I was much younger was that it wasn't about love -- by far the most overused topic in songs.

The other thing is that it is actually a metaphor for all the things that were going on during the timeperiod when it was written. For example, the first verse directly alludes to the death of Buddy Holly or the "Big Bopper" a major musical icon at that time. Included in there is James Dean, Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and it just gets better. This song has a lot of history in it and, even better, it's got a tune so catchy that everyone will sing along with the chorus even if it isn't their kind of song.

More in-depth info on the song's meaning here: http://understandingamericanpie.com/index.htm

Finally, someone who UNDERSTANDS!!!

Uhm, maybe Stairway to Heaven, just because it's Stairway to Heaven.

There's a lady who's sure
All that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

When she gets there she knows
If the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a sign on the wall
But she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have
Two meanings

In a tree by the brook
There's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are
Misgiven

Ooh, it makes me wonder

Ooh, it makes me wonder

There's a feeling I get
When I look to the west
And my spirit is crying
For leaving

In my thoughts I have seen
Rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those
Who stand looking

Ooh, it makes me wonder

Ooh, it really makes me wonder

And it's whispered that soon
If we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason

And a new day will dawn
For those who stand long
And the forests will
Echo with laughter

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, ooh, whoa, oh

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean
For the May queen

Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There's still time to change
The road you're on

And it makes me wonder

Aw, uh, oh

Your head is humming and it won't go
In case you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him

Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow?
And did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind?

(Solo)

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The truth will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll

And she's buying a stairway
To heaven...

It also gives a good message; MONEY DOESN'T BUY HAPPINESS. At least that's what I get from it.

I'm pretty sure Eternal Life by Jeff Buckley features some of the best lyrics ever. Of course, most of Jeff Buckley's songs have great lyrics, but the fact that this song is a lot more aggressive/in your face then all the other songs on the 'Grace' album, makes them standout even more.

Eternal Life

Eternal Life is now on my trail
Got my red glitter coffin, man, just need one last nail
While all these ugly gentlemen play out their foolish games
there's a flaming red horizon that screams our names
And as your fantasies are broken in two
Did you really think this bloody road
would pave the way for you?
You better turn around
and blow your kiss hello to life eternal, angel

Racist everyman, what have you done?
Man, you've made a killer of your unborn son...
Crown my fear your king at the point of a gun
All I want to do is love everyone...

And as your fantasies are broken in two
did you really think this bloody road
would pave the way for you?
You better turn around
and blow your kiss hello to life eternal

Oh...

There's no time for hatred, only questions
Where is love, where is happiness, what is Life,
where is peace?

When will I find the strength to bring me release?
And tell me where is the love in what your prophet has said?
Man, It sounds to me just like a prison for the walking dead
And I've got a message for you and your twisted hell
You better turn around and blow your kiss goodbye
to life eternal angel...
Angel...
I really dig the 'There's no time for hatred..' part. The music is great to, I recommend everyone to check this song out.

And speaking of Buckley, 'Hallelujah' (originally by Leonard Cohen) also features some pretty good lyrics.

Hurricane by 30 Seconds To Mars

No matter how many times that you told me you wanted to leave
No matter how many breaths that you took you still couldn't breathe
No matter how many nights that you lied wide awake to the sound of the poison rain

Where did you go? where did you go? where did you go?

Heart beat, a heart beat, I need a... heart beat, a heart beat...

Tell me would you kill to save for a life?
Tell me would you kill to prove you're right?
Crash, crash, burn let it all burn
This hurricanes chasing us so long to cry

No matter how many deaths that I die, I will never forget
No matter how many lives I live, I will never regret
There's a fire inside this heart and a riot about to explode into flames
Where is your God? Where is your God? Where is your God? ...

Do you really want?
Do you really want me?
Do you really want me dead?
Or alive to torture for my sins?

Do you really want?
[heart beat, a heart beat]
Do you really want me?
[I need a.. heart beat, a heart beat]
Do you really want me dead?
[you know I gotta leave, I can't stay,
I know I gotta go, I can't stay]
Or alive to live a lie?

Tell me would you kill to save for a life?
Tell me would you kill to prove you're right?
Crash, crash, burn let it all burn
This hurricanes chasing us so long to cry

You say you wrong, you wrong, I'm right, I'm right, you're wrong, we fight
Ok, I'm running from the light, running from the day to night
Oh, the quiet silence defines our misery
The riot inside keeps trying to visit me
No matter how we try, it's too much history
Too many bad notes playing in our symphony
So let it breathe, let it fly, let it go
Let it fall, let it crash, burn slow
And then you call upon God
Oh you call upon God

Tell me would you kill to save for a life?
Tell me would you kill to prove you're right?
Crash, crash, burn let it all burn
This hurricane is chasing us all underground

This hurricane...

Do you really want?
Do you really want me?
Do you really want me dead?
Or alive to torture for my sins?

Do you really want?
Do you really want me?
Do you really want me dead?
Or alive to live a lie

Running away from the night, running away from the light
Running away to save your life

Kind of makes me think of how I feel, (somewhat) when my boyfriend and I get in a fight. Great song for a situation such as that. Besides, It's 30 Seconds To Mars. Jared Leto's haunting voice is just epic. 8F

Duncan Sheik- "Shopping"

This song is amazing. Duncan Sheik is one of my favorite lyricists, and this is one of his best pieces. It's a great commentary on the out-of-control commercialism of today's society, and how even very genuine, personal things like works of art are often thrown into the matrix of buying and selling and sometimes created for that very purpose. I actually had this in my head while I was walking around the mall buying gifts last Christmas, and it was very eye-opening.

So you wrote me a letter which I thought was really kind
I don't recall which song it was, but there was one you really liked
You asked me so innocently of my inspiration
Why I write the songs I sing, and the reasons why I make them

Nothing here is what it seems
Risk the wreckage of your dreams
So that you are always shopping
Steal away the cash you're dropping
Listen to me when I say
Fantasies are built to fade
There you are, you're always shopping
Don't even try, there is no stopping

Don't misunderstand me, it always makes me smile
When I can serenade you as you're rolling down the aisles
On this journey of your soul's desire
The paradise of goods
You're doing just exactly what I think you should

Nothing here is what it seems
Risk the wreckage of your dreams
So that you are always shopping
While you roll, you're really rocking
Listen to me when I say
Fantasies are built to fade
There you are, you're always wanting
What you don't have is always haunting

There's still one thing I have to say
My confession's not complete
I've made it sound as if all this has nothing to do with me
There surely is not anything further from the truth
When I have pretty things to gain, and only useless things to lose

I wish there were another way
I must keep the wolves at bay
Hope that you don't find it shocking
Rock and roll is built on shopping
If you're searching for my soul
Come check out my chains of gold
Grab your purse and let's go shopping
For lingerie and silky stockings

Let's go shopping
Together
So that we can find ourselves
So that we can buy ourselves

Let's go shopping
Together
'Cause we are always by ourselves
We are always by ourselves

Let's go shopping
Together
So that we can find ourselves

A hell of a lot of Oasis songs. Particularly Champagne Supernova, though. I love how abstract their lyrics are and they seem (to me at least) to have a lot of meanings to them. The lines "Slowly walking down the hall // faster than a cannon ball" really stand out to me.

I also really like Elbow's One Day Like This, purely for the optimism of the lyrics. The song basically just tells you to cheer up.

Another lyrically strong song is State of the Union by David Ford. He uses a lot of metaphors in his songs that I find quite memorable, with this song having some of the best.

Killing for Company by Swans.

I couldn't stop myself
I knew I'd do it again
But I could heal myself,
If I could feel your skin
And if I comprehend this moment
I know we'll live again
And if I heal your wound
We will make love again
And now we're slipping through this millenium
We should feel sorry for the people
Can I kiss your skin?
And there's hunger in the desert.
And missiles in the sky
And every soul is interwoven
Before the wrong or right
I know we'll live again
Though it's just a feeling
I know we'll never end
I'll keep you company

It's a song based on the the serial killer Dennis Nilsen. The protagonist in the song goes and murders people and takes them home so that he can have some company.

PS You Rock My World (Eels)

I was at a funeral the day I realized
I wanted to spend my life with you
Sitting down on the steps at the old post office
The flag was flying at half mast
And I was thinking 'bout how
Everyone is dying
And maybe it's time to live

I don't know where we're going
I don't know what we'll do

Walked in to the thrif-tee
Saw the man with the hollow eyes
Who didn't give me all my change
But it didn't bother me this time
'cause I know I've only got
This moment
And it's good
I went to the gas station
Old woman honked her horn
Waiting for me to fix her car

I don't know where we're going
I don't know what we'll do

Laying in bed tonight I was thinking
And listening to all the dogs
And the sirens and the shots
And how a careful man tries
To dodge the bullets
While a happy man takes a walk

And maybe it's time to live

This is the last song on an album where the singer has sung about his sister's suicide and the death of his mother from cancer. It's a very bleak album. But this final track provides a ray of hope with its hopes for a better future and exhortations to get on with life even amidst death. It's one of very few songs to almost move me to tears.

Oasis <3

Champagne Supernova is probably my favorite song by them musically and lyrically; but I agree they have many many great songs with great lyrics. "Cast No Shadow" is another one of my favorites.

"Cast No Shadow"

Here's a thought for every man
Who tries to understand what's in his hands (what's in his hands)
He walks along the open road
Of love and life survivin if he can (survivin if he can)

Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
Chained to all the places that he never wished to stay
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow

As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow

Here's a thought for every man
Who tries to understand what's in his hands (what's in his hands)
He walks along the open road
Of love and life survivin if he can (survivin if he can)

Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
Chained to all the places that he never wished to stay
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow

Another song that has great lyrics (and music) is "Buenas Tardes Amigo" by Ween. It tells a story of a man searching for his brother's killer and in the end, you get a little twist. I like it because you get a glimpse of how the singer viewed his brother and begin to suspect he may be guilty; and by the time he reveals the truth, you're like "Aha! I knew it!" At least that was me the first time I listened to the song. :mokken:

Buenas Tardes Amigo

Buenas tardes amigo
Hola, my good friend
Cinco de mayo’s on tuesday
And I hoped we’d see each other again

You killed my brother last winter
You shot him three times in the back
In the night I still hear mama weeping
Oh mama, still dresses in black

I looked at every fiesta
For you I wanted to greet
Maybe I’d sell you a chicken
With poison interlaced with the meat

You... you look like my brother
Mama loved him the best
He was head honcho with the ladies
Mama always said he was blessed

The village all gathered around him
They couldn’t believe what they saw
I said it was you that had killed him
And that I’d find you and upstand the law

The people of the village believed me
Mama... she wanted revenge
I told her I’d see that she was honored
I’d find you and put you to death

So now... now that I’ve found you
On this such a joyous day
I tell you it was me who killed him
But the truth I’ll never have to say

Buenas tardes amigo
Hola, my good friend
Cinco de mayo’s on tuesday
And I hoped we’d see each other again
Yes, I hoped we’d see each other again
I hoped we’d see each other again

The Script- breakeven
Beautiful song ^^ and great lyrics!

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in
'Cause I got time while she got freedom
'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven

Her best days will be some of my worst
She finally met a man that's gonna put her first
While I'm wide awake she's no trouble sleeping
'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven, even, no

What am I suppose to do
When the best part of me was always you and
What am I suppose to say
When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces

They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
'Cause she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven, even, no

What am I gonna do
When the best part of me was always you
And what am I suppose to say
When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
(One's still in love while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
('Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven)

You got his heart and my heart and none of the pain
You took your suitcase, I took the blame
Now I'm tryna make sense of what little remains, oh
'Cause you left me with no love and no love to my name

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayed to a God that I don't believe in
'Cause I got time while she got freedom
'Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't break
No it don't break, no it don't breakeven, no

What am I gonna do
When the best part of me was always you
And what am I supposed to say
When I'm all choked up and you're okay

I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces, yeah
I'm falling to pieces
(One's still in love while the other one's leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
('Cause when a heart breaks, no it don't breakeven)

Oh, it don't breakeven, no
Oh, it don't breakeven, no
Oh, it don't breakeven, no

:monster:

I would like to add another, which is "Beat It" by none other than Michael Jackson! I don't need to post the lyrics, unless you have the song playing in the background. :)

3 DOORS DOWN
"When I'm Gone"

There's another world inside of me
That you may never see
There're secrets in this life
That I can't hide
Somewhere in this darkness
There's a light that I can't find
Maybe it's too far away...
Or maybe I'm just blind...

Or maybe I'm just blind...

[Chorus]
So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
Hold me when I'm scared
And love me when I'm gone
Everything I am
And everything in me
Wants to be the one
You wanted me to be
I'll never let you down
Even if I could
I'd give up everything
If only for your good
So hold me when I'm here
Right me when I'm wrong
You can hold me when I'm scared
You won't always be there
So love me when I'm gone

Love me when I'm gone...

When your education X-Ray
Cannot see under my skin
I won't tell you a damn thing
That I could not tell my friends
Roaming through this darkness
I'm alive but I'm alone
Part of me is fighting this
But part of me is gone

[Chorus]

Or maybe I'm just blind...

[Chorus]

Love me when I'm gone...

Love me when I'm gone

3 DOORS DOWN
"When I'm Gone"

I'm no 3 Doors Down fan, but after reading you post I realised they often have some pretty good lyrics. I especially like 'Here Without You'.

Also I'd like to add Letter From God To Man by Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip. I'm not going to post the lyrics, because I think they only make sense if you also here the music. This lyrics of this rap song are a letter read out loud to the listener. The sender is God, and he adresses the human race. The ending of the letter is the climax of the song, after which the musical climax starts. The music is a remix of Radiohead's 'Planet Telex' and do really contribute to the listeners interpretation of the text I think. I can even recommend this song to people who generally don't like rap.

"Walking In My Shoes"

I would tell you about the things they put me through
The pain I've been subjected to
But the Lord himself would blush
The countless feasts laid at my feet
Forbidden fruits for me to eat
But I think your pulse would start to rush

Now I'm not looking for absolution
Forgiveness for the things I do
But before you come to any conclusions
Try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes

You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments I kept
If you try walking in my shoes
If you try walking in my shoes

Morality would frown upon
Decency look down upon
The scapegoat fate's made of me
But I promise now, my judge and jurors
My intentions couldn't have been purer
My case is easy to see

I'm not looking for a clearer conscience
Peace of mind after what I've been through
And before we talk of any repentance
Try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes

You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments I kept
If you try walking in my shoes
If you try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes

Now I'm not looking for absolution
Forgiveness for the things I do
But before you come to any conclusions
Try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes

You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments I kept
If you try walking in my shoes
You'll stumble in my footsteps
Keep the same appointments I kept
If you try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes
If you try walking in my shoes
Try walking in my shoes

^^ it's cool, I totally respect that man =)
I'm a huge fan of Lady Antebellum
Here's their latest song 'Need You Now' lyrics
beautiful song<3

Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor.
Reaching for the phone 'cuz I can't fight it anymore.
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind?
For me it happens all the time.
It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now.
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without.
I just need you now.

Another shot of whiskey, can't stopping looking at the door.
Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before.
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind?
For me it happens all the time.
It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now.
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don't know how I can do without.
I just need you now.

Oh whoa
Yes I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all.
It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now.
And I said I wouldn't call but I'm a little drunk
and I need you now.
Well I don't know how I can do without.
I just need you now
I just need you now.
Oh baby I need you now.

Three of my favourite bands usually have lyrics I really like. Paramore, You Me At Six, and The Cure. The Cure has a twist on their lyrics, but mostly a good story behind it.

Here's another good Paramore one;

Careful;

♫ I settled down, a twisted up frown,
Disguised as a smile, well...
You would have never known...

I had it all, but not what I wanted.
Cause hope for me, was a place uncharted.
And overgrown...

you'd make your way in...
I resist you just like this...
You can't tell me to feel!
The truth never set me free...
So, I did it myself...

You can't be too careful anymore!
When all that is waiting for you!
Won't come any closer!
You've got to reach out a little more!
More!
More!
More, more...

Open your eyes like i opened mine...
It's only the real world.
A life you will never will know...

Shifting your weight...
To throw off the pain.
Well you can ignore it...
But, only for so long...

You look like I did.
You resist me just like this.
You can't tell me to heal.
And, it hurts remembering.
How it felt to shut down.

Can't be too careful anymore!
When all that is waiting for you!
Won't come any closer!
You've got to reach out a little more!

So, I'll do it myself....
