Wylliam returned to his camp just outside the city where he planned to spend the night, as opposed to one of the many inns within the city. It wasn't that he was cheap; quite the opposite really. His trip into town had, in fact, so depleted his money purse, that he simply couldn't afford the nightly fare. Wylliam dropped all of his new clothes into his travel trunk and sighed. He was, in a way, uncomfortable being a uni-partisan mercenary, but it seemed the quickest way to end the Aldabran Empire's bloody ambitions. So, he allowed himself to be contracted exclusively by Seseu, pledging to wield his spear only for the Seseuan cause. "Of course," Wylliam assured himself, smiling, "that is only if the Seseuan cause remains one of self preservation." Wylliam walked back out of the tent and looked at the horizon. There was still time before sundown. He decided to return to the eventful bar to pass the time. "Only this time," he chuckled, returning to the tent, "I'm taking my spear."
It was dark by the time Wylliam thought it was finally time to return to camp. However, as he walked toward the town gate, he noticed out of the corner of his eye a shadow leaping from the clocktower. Suicide was common enough these days, but it still made Wylliam uneasy to see the plummeting figure. His unease metamorphed into confusion as he saw the shadow land and roof hop through the town. An interesting end to an interesting day, he thought, leaping in the direction the shadow appeared to be heading.
"Sheesh, this guy's quick," he grumbled, still in his pursuit. Wylliam had prided himself in his ability to leap higher and faster than any man, and yet here was this shadow with whom he was having to go all out just to keep pace. Finally coming within hailing distance, he called out, "Hey, hold up! I'm getting tired, and I want some answers!" Like, how do you leap 50 stories and live, he thought to himself. His ego was becoming very sensitive.

As he saw Cairn left the table, the waiter arrived with his water. Drinking his water, Arthvader began to think if he should actually meet Cairn as he requested.
'If I meet him at the entrance, he might explain more about what's going on. Also, this would give me the chance to know him more. Okay, I've decided.'
A few hours later...
As he stands outside the inn, Arthvader waits for Cairn to make his appearance. To him, this could be fate for them to meet.

The sun was already setting and if she wasn’t fast, she was going to miss the inn’s and would be forced to sleep under the stars yet again. Not that she had any problem with that, but now and again it was nice to sleep in a comfy bed and be served her food by another instead of hunting it down herself. She was forced to run for the door as a woman was ready to lock it from the inside. Her clawed hand grasped the wood and the owner looked at her in fear she was some sort of beast. Kali opened the door, her icy blue hair billowing in the harsh wind. She stepped inside and drew her hair to one side. “I am no beast, you need not fear me. All I ask is that you let me stay the night. You have one more room for a weary traveller, do you not?”
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The girl nodded her head in bewilderment and stepped aside in order to let the woman in. She noticed the great sapphire engraved katana on her back and took a step back. The woman would have seen many warriors pass this village, but Kali doubted one as bizarre as herself had stayed before. Kali removed her white cloak and threw it over her arm. She dug the free hand into the pocket of the cloak and removed a small pouch, from it she drew some money and handed it to the woman. She accepted, but still said nothing, drawing behind the counter and taking out a clumpy key. She handed it over the counter to Kali who had drawn nearer to the counter and gave a shaken smile.

Kali sighed. “I told you that I was not here to harm you, now will you speak or am I not to recommend the service at this in?”
“N-n, no! Of course not miss. I’m sorry. We do not normally get such...”She didn’t finish her sentence just in case Kali took offence. Instead she lowered her head and murmured, “Would you like a drink?”
Kali sighed, this wasn’t getting anywhere. “Yes I would very much like a drink if you don’t mind.”
With that, the woman took off in order to get the drink ready as soon as possible. Kali noted that the woman had not even ask her what she would like to drink, but she didn’t mind, as long as the woman wasn’t going to call the army in on her in the middle of the night, she didn’t really care. Before she knew it, the woman was handing over the drink; amber in colour which Kali assumed would be some sort of alcoholic beverage. Her clawed hand curled around the glass with a ‘clank’ and she nodded her head in thanks before going to sit at a table.

She set down the drink and pulled back the chair, she sat with a slump, exhausted from all the travelling she had done the last few days. She closed her eyes for a small second in order to catch her breath and then opened them once more. It was then she noted that the bar area was quite empty apart from one enjoying his meal and another clocked figure in the corner. Kali took a sip of her unknown drink, her eyes still focussed on the hooded figure...that was until the strong ale took an extreme turn on her and she began to choke and splutter. Her clawed hand covered her mouth until she stopped coughing and the other hand pushed the ale away in disgust. Kali wasn’t a heavy drinker at all; in fact it was always water or some fruity substance for her.

After the sudden panic, her eyes drew back to figure sat in the corner. Kali didn’t even know if the figure was looking straight back at her or not because its face was complete darkness...but she didn’t care, she continued to stare until her vision was spotted from staring at the same thing for more than a few minutes. Her eyes flew back to the amber substance on the table and she grimaced as the sudden reminder of the foul taste made her stomach turn.

As he awaited for Jake to appear, Cairn couldn't avoid noticing the man he met several hours ago exiting the bar. Though he wasn't sure he could trust him, Cairn decided he could, at least, give him a chance to prove himself. In these dark times, it was common to see imperial spies disguising as villagers and travelers to find out information about the kingdom's activities. The air was getting colder as the hours passed, the moon shined bright on a clear black sky. Stars glowed magnificently above like jewels on a crown, shining, pure and full of the hope fueled by the people below wishing for a new era of peace in this dark times of war, greed, pain, anger, treachery and deception.
Cairn sighed as he closed his eyes for a few seconds and the opened them staring at the stars. Tomorrow, he would set on a quest to attempt to save this world. For those who knew the ancient lore, it was foretold a millennium from now that when the world was darkened by corruption, the guardians of this planet would rid it of all its corruption. The war was just the prologue of the "Armageddon" that was about to come. This land cried out for a moment of balance, for peace, for all pain to end. From the north, the advancing armies of the Empire scorched all who opposed them, Seseu was on the brink of oblivion. To think, that not far away from here a man set on a similar mission struggled to recover the fragments of his life once shattered as a price to delay the destruction of the world. A man that sacrificed his sanity for the sake of his friends. Then his brother, a man who sought out atonement for his sins, traveling through the land accompanied by his loved one, it is unknown if this former denizen of darkness would make his appearance. As for the man who gave his soul, right now he is being guided by one of the ancient ones who fought the demon born out of the hatred of this world.
Back on out little part of this story, we see Cairn thinking about all that has happened. The man sought for answers that could not be delivered at the moment. He had a serious expression, eyes reflecting the sorrow of the stars, a pain so deep that no mortal could bear within the secrecy of the heart. Cairn finally turned to face the man who just left the Bar & Inn. With a firm determination on his voice, Cairn began to play his part set by fate.
"Sir Arthvader, am I correct?"

As Cairn called out to him, Arthvader turned his attention to him. He then asked Cairn a question.
"Yeah, that's me. I've heard that you were looking for people to join you. I would be honored to join you in your quest. You see, I've been through some tough battles. If I were to join you in your cause, Believe me, I'll help you in any kind of situation."

Zeria took a moment and gasped at the name. Unfortunately, with the loudness in her voice at the shock, she gave herself away.
"ARTHVADER?!"
She clapped her hands over her mouth. Surely, Arthvader would recognize her voice and see the fiery red hair beginning to be visible from out of the hood of the black cloak that covered her. Her identity would be revealed...

Cairn, not sure of trusting this man, decided that he would give him a chance to prove himself worthy. "I see, very well. You can join us, we will leave at first hour of tomorrow's morning." Cairn soon noticed the presence of another person, a woman enshrouded in mystery. He recognized her as Zeria Iiyasei, a woman that along with Arthvader had served the fallen lord Julius Argexis, a man who disappeared shortly after his castle was assaulted by an unknown force. Maximilian Regisheart took control of the region, and along with Lady Vegnya they established the Aldabran Empire in hopes to unify the land, though the world they had envisioned is far away from our present reality. How and why these people were here, Cairn did not know. Seeing that it was getting quite late, Cairn decided that it was best for him to go back to the Inn and get some rest.
"I apologize but I must leave, tomorrow we shall speak again."
Cairn turned his back on them and left towards the Inn. As he entered, the bar of the Inn was already quite empty, most of the people had already left to their chambers. Cairn went upstairs and entered his room, locking the door in the process. He then fell tired on his bed, and began to sleep.

Jake continued to leap from building to building, breathing deeply as Hera had taught him. "Wait a minute," he muttered, "why the hell am I running? It would be easier to fly!" With that, Jake jumped into the air and flew, using his energy to propel him. Who needed to go Dragon and get wings when you had Chi?
As soon as he'd jumped into the air, he heard a voice behind him. "Hey, hold up! I'm getting tired, and I want some answers!" Jake whirled around, hovering in midair. Leaping along the rooftops, and going full-power it seemed, was a man trying to keep up with Jake. Jake made to move towards him, but heard a scream down an alley to his left. Without hesitation, Jake shot into the alleyway, drawing the Soul Shredder.
The giant golden blade gleamed in the moonlight. It was zweihander-style, but unnaturally light, made from a magical metal with unknown origins. Jake had found it during a trial on the planet Makio, and had kept it ever since.
The moonlight bounced off the blade, into the face of a man who was about to commit murder on a young woman. Jake wasted no time. With a leap, he thwacked the man across the side of the head and punched him in the gut. The man doubled over, dazed and winded from the heavy assault. The woman stopped screaming, but stared in horror at Jake. Jake didn't blame her; it wasn't every day you saw a fifteen-year-old kid take out a grown man with a punch, let alone wield a giant sword like the Soul Shredder.
Jake sheathed his blade and held out a hand to the woman. "What happened?" he asked kindly.
The woman's voice shook, still shrill with fright. "That blaggard tried to kill me! I didn't have my husband's rent this month, so he threatened to kill me unless I gave him everything I own! When I had nothing, he said that I'd have to give him my life and...and..." She looked up at Jake, wonder shining in her eyes. "You saved me! Oh, thank you sir! Thank you! Oh, what do you want, name it, I'll give you anything!"
Jake shook his head. "No, marm, that's alright. Just get yourself home. He's not dead, he's just unconscious." Without another word, Jake walked out into the open streets. "Well," he muttered to himself. "That was good. Wonder if anybody else needs help."
