I'm actually a bit annoyed, an earlier post stated they were so glad Advent Children came out. Though that was a poor excuse for a movie and sequel.

Spirits Within the movie in general I think was rather pretty good. Sadly it got branded with the Final Fantasy name and gets heavily panned for not having recognizable similarities with the games.

I suggest to some people they watch the movie again without that hindrance in your head, because it's not what was expected of "Final Fantasy". You may actually enjoy it.

Abomination to the game series? Hardly, it had many fantasy qualities and it's a pleasure to watch for the eye.

I know I made mention of this in my earlier post but I did forget to mention that Square has always prided themselves with having rather good graphics in their games. The fact that FF:TSW has such wonderful animation just helps prove this and just shows another relation to the games.

The film was very good IMO. I dont care that it had nothing to do with FF, it wasnt supposed to. But if you look at the movie there are a few things that are similar between FF and FF:SW and its not that its ment to be they are just little things that I had pointed out to my friends.

If you look at the ship that carried the aliens to their battleground they looked alot like Sin Spawn.

There is also a referance about damaging the Gaia of the planet with the Thor cannon. Incidently the first Meteor in FFVII is said to have done the same thing.

The movie really is made of so many recycled ideas from FF games I find it hard for people to say that this movie was crap and yet still feel the games are stunning.

I think people really expected it to be more of a heavy action movie and in that respect they were let down. However if they watched it again without that thought maybe they would find it more enjoyable.

I think my favorite part was the secret music video in which all the characters danced to 'Thriller'.

*oh come on guys have a little heart

*well this movie was a big dissapointment for all final fantasy fans,i mean wheres the swords, the magical weapons and spell casting?atleast there are monsters even if there are half dead

*the only thing consistent in the movie is the name "Cid" guess the writers screwed up big time haha

*this movie just proves that no matter how popular or good something is,if you take out the basic components doesnt work!

*somebody just used the name final fantasy so people would want to see it,a greedy writer or producer perhaps

Tssk, when i watched it then, i was soo disappointed man..
I thought it would have some sort of sword and magic in it. Unfortunately, there wasn't. I was like praying for some swords despite knowing already it was set in some sort of super high-tech area.
I thought the best they could do was to like, throw something more Final Fantasy-relevant..? (By that i mean the typically well-known FF trademarks like Airship, wooden ones? Chocobos? )
