i dislike this film not because it's not related to final fantasy but because it's freaking boring. The story is good but not the way it turned out. I almost fell asleep by watching it

I don't think it was a poor movie at all. Okay, it's hard to watch more than once, but I found that with A.C. too.
To me, the movie was just different. It wasn't so much a fantasy, as people have said, but it was a good movie. I don't object to it being under the title of Final Fantasy. It had elements of fantasy. It just didn't link so much to the things that make the series what it is.
I'd say it's worth watching. Just don't expect Chocobos, Moogles, an enchanting expansive world, swords, magic or awesome clothing. It was more realistic than any of the games, which is probably why people were disappointed. It was made to be more realistic. The characters were normal people from the future, the world was ours yet with God in the earth and some alien spirits. xD

I don't mind this movie, sure I was disappointed to see that it had nothing to do with FF in any way, as much as the next person, but still it isn't all that bad, I enjoyed it the second time I watched it.

This movie didn't bothered me...I like a good SF. But to call it Final Fantasy....that's the only reason I want to pretend it never existed.

I really did enjoy FFTSW. I actually went with my dad and brother to go see it. How lame. ^.^
It would have made a good movie on it's own, but...it really shouldn't have carried the FF title. The movie didn't share any of the traditional FF aspects. No chocobos, no moogles...no fantasy. It was very science fictiony, and there was absolutely no fantasy whatsoever. I mean it took place on earth for cripe's sake!
I actually saw the movie last night on the sci-fi channel, and I remembered this thread, so I came to post. ^.^
I liked The spirits within, but...it should have carried a different title.
