i personally would have stepped in when he started to take pictures, even if you got the wrong idea, and it was for a legit reason, its best to find out and stop these perverts, god knows what he has done with the photo's :/

CCTV cameras are a bit different as you can request a copy of any image that shows you from the appropriate official. Hopefully that girl will never see that guy again, therfore the photo is entirely out of her control.

Saying that i do think that attacking some guy for taking a photo is a little off. As has been said no one has any idea why he took the photo, it might have been innocent. checking the girl wasnt followed ws the right thing to do.

Her saftey is whats important, not attacking the man.

dee I still don't see the difference. What possible difference could someone getting a copy of thatphoto make to what the guy could do with the photo? He would still have it... I'm not sure how being able to get a copy of it makes any difference to the situation at all.

Tidus What difference does it make? No one is harmed any by it. This focus on a persons intentions being the difference between a crime and a non crime is...well... insane, since it's almsot impossible to prove intent.

Either taking photos in public is legal, or its illegal. You can't change the law to "its illegal if he plans to use them for sexual gratification" because a) That doesn't change how it affects the person whose photo is being taken and b) can't be proved.

That is just f***ing wrong. Are you sure he was taking pictures of her and he wasn't some tourist just taking pictures of everything? Maybe he had a mental disorder (in all seriousness). If he was just being a complete perv and I knew the girl, there would be... "accidents", resulting in a possible broken nose.

But yeah, good call with the making sure that he didn't follow her thing, good citizen!
