The Fritzl Case

This is the most horrific peice of news I've heard for years, Elizabeth Fritzl was kept hostage in a secret underground celler by her own father, where he repeatedly raped her, for 24 years, and she has had 7 of her own fathers children. More horrific than this, one of her babies died and her father burned the body in the incinerator.

It's just, sick beyond words, and what's worse is that her Father has shown no remorse for what he's done. He's not only ruined his daughters life, but the lives of her 6 children as well. It's just so tragic, and it really makes you wonder what sort of sick, depraved people live in this world.

Omg, I read about this yesterday, it's one of the most horrendous things I have ever heard. Too live without ever seeing day light for so long is shocking.....not to mention the incest.

He is disgusting, the nasty peice of work has lived his life out now, I hope he spends the remainder of his years rotting in some dark pit some where

I was thinking he could be left to rot in said pit, death is far too good for him. At least that way he would suffer like they have done. Keep him alive for as long as possible with no luxuries whatsoever.

Ugh, only 15 - 20 years of imprisonment. Sure, that's like a life sentence for a guy that old, but the numbers disappoint me greatly. This is a very sad case, and I feel remorse at the whole situation...I mean, to think that all these many years, there is someone (and her children who's never seen daylight until a few days ago) out there suffering...trapped in a situation that's not very common from your typical crimes. I just cannot even fathom how it was like for them, especially for Elizabeth.

According to the Associated Press, "Investigators say they believe his wife, with whom he had seven children, was unaware that the daughter she believed ran away to join a religious cult in 1984 was living as a prisoner beneath her feet."

I just wonder...couldn't she hear anything (or even notice) below her? I mean, surely they made some loud noises to attract attention by means of escape. (Although she did manage to escape back in 1994 but was captured again).

And according to wiki, "Josef Fritzl's defence lawyer, Rudolf Mayer, said although the DNA test proved incest, evidence was needed for other allegations. "The DNA traces are clear and this would prove the incest but the rape has not been proven at all, let alone the enslavement and the murder that have been talked about. Nothing has been proven there... From now on he is not speaking to the police. He will not say a single word...We need to reassess the confessions made so far."

Oh please. It had to have been "raped". I can bet my life that she did not like the situation at all and was locked up against her will. But okay, so let's pretend it wasn't "raped". In her defense, she probably went crazy and lost all hope due to the traumatizing situation she had to deal with. She was scared of her own father (gah, if you can even call him that) and most likely threatened her if she didn't comply with him. Threats and fears can really do damage to someone.

That sick bastard should rot in hell for what he did to that poor girl, and I hope the rest of his days on earth are miserable! To do something like that to your own flesh and blood, for 24 years is as sick and low as you can get. I feel so sad for her when I think about the horrible conditions she's had to live in, and I can't believe she was forced to live with her children there.

I'm willing to bet that her mother did know what was going on, because I mean really.. How could she not? You'd think that the girl would've screamed, or beat the walls, or something that would have been obviously noticable. Plus, she was down there with 6 children. They probably cried and screamed, so how could she have not heard that?

The situation most likely started out as rape, but then the girl had no choice but to comply. If she didn't do what he said, he could've threatened to hurt her children or something. I think it's pretty obvious that the man comitted a horrible crime, and it's silly that they are saying because there is no proof of rape that it didn't happen.

His wife didn't live with him, that's what I heard. It's unlikely his daughter would have beat the walls, no doubt because she was scared of reprisals.

Three lived with him as his 'adopted' grandchildren, and the other three lived with their mother in the pit.
One boy died shortly after he was born, then he incinerated the body.

this the worst thing i ever heard. i mean a man rape his own daughter and the police says that thay have no prof that she was raped. what kind of a crap is that? who are thay tring to fool? i'd say that life has become shit

it is just as what he said " whoever wins, it won't make any diffrent, whoever dies will be free, and whoevere lives, will be tortured by life "
