How about I subject the readers to some rap that I think is catchy? That does not have horrible lyrics, and that you guys might actually accept?

Well I happen to find Eminem entertaining, he's rather funny. But are his lyrics particularly good? Not at all, except for a few songs here and there like Sing for the Moment and Till I Collapse. By the large though, rap is a steaming pile of crap. There are a few noteworthy songs and artists hither and thither, but it's not enough to redeem a genre that's characterized by incoherent spoken word, glorification of crime, violence and drugs, and the belittling of women.

Like anything though it started fun and good and is great dance music. People ruined it like they do to anything . It is similar to most entertainment forms where ideas get lazier and less tasteful, I will dig up a few I like. Knowing that you are so bias though...I dont know....

Anywho, back on topic. I am currently watching MTV, don't ask why, and I'm watching a music video that stars Maddonna, Justin Timberlake, and Timberland. Now, why on Xenu's green earth are all these 'artists' *cough cough* coming together to make songs? Maybe because they are getting lazy mayhap? Yes, thats right, they are getting lazy. In the beggining, I admit, rap was good, it worked, and was perfectly understandable, and they used decent lyrics.
Today, roughly 90% of rap is either about 'hoes', capping people's asses, how rich they are, and the other day, I saw a music video where they were promoting ditching school. I'm sorry, nothing about those categories are good or articulate.

Yah early rap and early rap artist are back far enough . Before some people here were even born....
I rather stay on topic.
Will Smith still raps today, and he rapped back way when, like 10 - some many years it proves that real rap is good, I do not speak for what it has become . There is still some good stuff out there though.True rap is not crap only crap is crap.

Old rap and many current underground artists are great.
I love old rap, because back then it not only had meaning, but it was original. Many underground artists are the same. Its usually the popular artists that aren't original/have lyrics that are demeaning :/

EXPLAIN!
do you mean Kool G rap's era or what? State a time period.
Will smith used to rap, he is pop now, switch=pop, not rap.
What do you mean 'True rap'. That just sounds like elitism that you are using to try and justify your statement. Which doesn't mention true rap.
Please try to stay on topic, will smith =/= rap

Well seeing how all art is in the eye of the beholder and even the most famous of pieces are argued what genre some paintings, sculpture fits into as well as music....I do not think I have to justify what real rap is to anyone , or to swade you from our own bias of the meaning of "true" rap. I definitely do not have to play games with you , and suffer your 3rd degree nonsense.
I am on topic, you are the one trying to get off topic. I said I would post some rap that I thought was descent and you guys could listen to it and you demanded to know what it proved I answered you and all the sudden I am off topic because I answered with my opinion of things , which is what you actually asked me to do . I think it proved that some rap has talent and you even admitted to that.
You are here to argue and I am not.
I just am saying that rap music is creative whether or not the lyrics are good the orignal ideas and the actual process is creative and much harder than you prob give it credit for . You go write something.
Remember that timing is everything, pace is everything, rhythm is important...go sing it and then tell me that rap has no talent when you try to sell it and fail myseribly .
