Guys, Girls and Gender roles - Page 2

This thread..............is just asking for trouble. I agree that it is the way they are brought up differently. That's all I will say on the subject.

Disciplined more? I can agree that people are often easier on their girls than their boys, but how would that relate to what you're saying about girls being "greedy" and "full of themselves"? I can't see a correlation, because guys are just as full of themselves as girls are.

I am not going to go all into it, I am bad at explaining things but I know I am right. Besides there will be people who disagree with me and get angry over it. I believe I am right because I socialize a lot with many different people and I figure these things out from experiences.

and uhm.. discipline relates to greed because those who're disciplined know that they have to earn things. Not all girls are full of themselves, i know that dorky girls usually aren't but the really pretty ones are usually full of themselves. I have like 20 occasions i could talk about where i've noticed these things.

20 whole occasions? Let's write this baby up as fact, then. If there were only 15 different occasions, I'd have some questions...but 20? Hot damn!

It's possible to be both disciplined and greedy. I don't believe the two are all that closely related. Disciplined people obey rules presented by those in authority, and behave in accordance with their wishes. Greedy people may very well be aware that they have to earn things. They'll just keep taking.

Saying that attractive girls are "full of themselves" is a gross generalization. I've come across more dudes who act like their shit doesn't stink than I have girls who act that way. People as a whole just seem to be more into themselves nowadays. I wouldn't say girls stand out any more than guys in that sense.

It's not proven, and most people completely disagree with that anyway, because it's a huge ignorant generalization that sounds awfully shallow-minded and resentful.

hmm... wow i don't understand why you guys have to bash me over this, it's not like i am even talking about you guys. i figured we were going to debate in this thread but i guess i was wrong.

and i said pretty girls are usually full of themselves, i wasn't saying they all were. i said "i don't really know how to explain this", basically what i mean is i don't feel like writing a couple paragraphs just for a smart alac to come along and bash me. this is fucking pathetic, just a bunch of online smart asses.

So you think you can just come along and say you're right about a touchy subject (making generalizations no less) without even explaining it properly, and not expect people to disagree? It doesn't make it any better when you say "most," either, because earlier you said that "girls are in for temselves," and if that's not an attempt to save yourself, it still is a generalization because it's basically implying that whenever you see a pretty girl you feel that they're most likely bad people, but that's off the topic anyway.

People are debating here supporting their gender not their real opinions.They are greedy women as they are greedy men.And we're not talking about school life people are still immature but someone doesn't seem to get it.I agree that shy girls are much more reserved because they're insecure but doesn't the same happen to guys.Think about it,if men hadn't stolen the chance to rule in the old times and make rules such as the women are weaker,because that's what they wanted to believe,and there would be equality.

If we all start talking about experience this'll turn into a drama.

I know of the gender differences but, to be honest, I really don't see, or otherwise know about, any form of gender discrimination occurring anywhere, anymore. The only time I hear of it being an issue is when someone decides to complain about it because they've had nothing better to do at that present moment.

Anyway, as much as I'm all for equality between the sexes an' shit, it's just a simple fact that guys and girls tend to act differently - most girls tend to act more emotional and frail, whereas most guys tend to be much more tough or athletic. Now don't bother taking that out of context because I can't put it any more plainly that it's not all people in a particular gender, it's just a blatant difference in a bloody large majority. It's not a bad difference by any means at all - it's just been there since forever and it's likely to be there forever. Stereotypes don't just evolve out of nowhere.

As a final note (for now, anyway), I'm all for feminism, too. However, what I cannae stand is when some women take it further and want to be, or already think that they are, better than the men. I remember one particular girl (and I do realise this must be, like, 1 in a 1000000) who shoved into the queue in the dinner hall a few months ago and I, being a prefect, caught her arm and told her to go to the back of the queue. She said, exactly, "you can't touch me, I'm a girl! Does feminism mean NOTHING to you!?"

That doesn't even make SENSE and clearly she had no idea about it herself. I realise this problem is hardly rife but it annoys me that it happens at all.

Equality: go for it, but don't shoot yourself in the foot and try to turn it around.
