Yeah I can't celebrate Mother's Day because I don't have a Mother, but it doesn't bother me in the least. I don't understand why people are so weak these days, but it gets on my nerves, too. I mean, even if someone said the 'n' word to me (I'm mulatto), I wouldn't be offended. It's just weird that so many words and phrases have been outlawed because of our 'advancing society'. But how advanced are we becoming if we have to limit our vocabulary so much just because of 'political correctness'?

It's just ridiculous, children have to experiance pain somewhere down the line, trying to protect them from everything means that they're going to grow up to be pathetically afraid of pain.
Most schools have stopped doing a nativity play at Christmas time now too, incase it offends other religions, one woman was suspended at work for wearing a cross around her neck incase it offended other religions. These people who get "offended" by the slightest thing really do ruin it for the rest of us, pretty soon it'll be illegal to say Christmas incase it offends other religions.

In which case, we should all stomp around and complain about how we feel offended that we can't celebrate our 2000-year-old traditions.
Society shall fall into a paradox until folk realise that they really need to get a grip, preferably of their necks, when it comes to such reactions.

Hrm. Well similar to that subject, it annoys me when black or Mexican (or any other race for that matter) say something offensively racial about their own race out of "defense".
For example, last year I worked at Meijer as a cashier. Well, one night I happened to be a Greeter, and it is part of the Greeter's job to check receipts before letting customers get out the usual "entry" door. So this black man tries to exit that way (yes it's allowed, although it's mainly for entry) and I politely stopped him and asked for his receipt since I saw him carrying a bag.
He then looked at me and said something like, "What, just because I'm black you're asking for my receipt in case I stole something?"
Good grief. I should be insulted, actually.

Oh, I hate when people play the race card. Whenever I do that, I always go, "yeah, it's because you're black. And by the way, Obama needs to get out of the election." Everytime I do that people get angry at me, but I don't care. If other people get to play the race card, I get to mock them for it.
But sometimes we do it jokingly at school, just for fun. I can understand that, but when you seriously try to use that as a defense, then it's just pathetic and uncalled for.

Haha, that reminds me of this one fatass otaku in my biology class. One day he says some completely idiotic statement about war has NEVER done America any good. Um, well 'scuse me, but WW2 is what got us out the Depression cuz it made so many new jobs. And it's obviously doing all the private contractors and munitions developers alot of good right now, thats half the reason why we're in Iraq to begin with, it gets them money.

Black sheep = blacks
Wool = cotton
"Yessir, yessir" = "yes massa"
So it COULD be racist if you read enough into it....but for god's sake, it's a harmless nursery rhyme.

Oh lord, you wanna talk about the race card you should look at this state. I remember about a year or two there was a story on the news about these two fatass black wimminz. They'd gone to a Cracker Barrel (nasty southern food restaurant) a few towns away, and so they get seated and order and everything. Well, this white couple at another table gets their food first...and the black wimminz said it was racist and decided to sue the restaurant. Did it occur to the black wimminz that the white people could have ordered first, or ordered food that was quicker to make? Probably. But blacks love to play the race card like that down here, it's even worse in Memphis.

1. I'm goddamn sick of all these nonconformist teenagers and college students whining and complaining about current society and how things would be better if we went back to an agrarian society or a bartering/trading system where salt and livestock were used as currency. Go away with your stupid anarcho-primitivism, living in the fields philosophizing all day or trying to find new ways to use manufactured goods to not be "sheep." Well you know what? I'm damn happy being a "sheep", it's convenient and comfortable and enjoyable. I know teens usually go through a spell where they'd rather philosophize about how everything sucks and think the world's problems could be solved by being primitive, but when the hell did it become so popular and widespread?
|
Well, not to offend some of our young members, but my grandfather (may he rest in peace....such a stubborn old man... ) always said that teens hardly think out of their own shell, with opinions easily influenced by their selfish goals. Not saying that all teens are like that, it's just that I've met a few that actually, don't think and lack common sense.

2. I'm tired of seeing all these people running around with Eurocunt mindsets. You know, the whole "America r bad, all Americans r stupid, warmongering, fat hicks." We're not. I know President Bush is a complete idiot, but hell, even he isn't a warmonger. He's just being manipulated, his sheer idiocy is what makes him such a great pawn for Cheney and contractors out to profit from war. Some countries (like the Muslim ones) think America is bad for it's decadence, we have excessive food and throw around money like it's nothing, etc. Be that as it may, we're not a bad country, we're not evil, and all things considered, America kicks the ass of alot of other countries. It's a pretty nice place to live.
|
Well that's their point of view, they have the right to think whatever they want. Of course, we, Americans (referring to everyone leaving in continent of America and not limiting it to USA Citizens only) can also do the same and think whatever they want of Europeans.
I also remember my teacher mentioning that Americans were hated by some people in Europe, which I consider stupid.

3. All this political correctness and uber sensitivity makes me sick. OH NOES! Be careful you don't make a race joke or call someone overweight, you might offend them and hurt their feelings, and lord knows thats the worst crime you can commit!
|
Treat others as you would like to be treated. Respect is the basis of a successful society. Sure we can joke, as long as no one takes it personal and as long as we know when enough, is enough. Still, you have a valid reason to state that opinion, and everyone here and everywhere should respect it.

Seriously, people tread on eggshells because they're afraid they might hurt some little pussy's feelings. What the hell happened to growing a pair and not letting it bother you?
|
Again, each human being is an individual and very different kind of world.
For example, if someone tells a person:
"Hey, your mother is a bitch and I hope she dies"
That person will probably be offended.
Or perhaps this example:
"X race deserves no right and are a bunch of idiots."
The people belonging to that race will be offended. Some might take it as a joke, others won't. It is up to our reasoning whether or not we should make comments like those above.

Well hypocrisy is indeed a serious flaw of human beings, and we all end up being hypocrites at some point of our lives. We are responsible for our actions, and we must all remember that each "action has an equal and opposite reaction" that might lead to a random outcome.

Oh I know they can think whatever they want, it just gets so tiresome seeing so much anti-American sentiment, especially in my own damn country. If you don't like Bush or the government, thats fine. I'll admit, most of our government is pretty corrupt, and I don't like it. But all these stupid faggy teens (especially the wapanese and hippies) whine about how our country just sucks balls and that they wish they lived in some other country and completely idolize every other country. Hate to break it to ya, but EVERY country is going to have its issues. It's that kind of uninformed, blatant hatred that pisses me off.

Respect is one thing, but people are too damn touchy and use the dumbest reasons to file for lawsuits and things of that nature. Like what about the term "retarded""? Perfectly legitimate word, it's been used for a long time. But suddenly that word has been deemed offensive and we have to say "special" or "challenged" and crap like that. Hell, even the Black Eyed Peas had to change their lyrics from "lets get retarded in here" to "lets get it started in here" on their song Lets Get Retarded (AKA Let's Get It Started) for the radio to play the song and for Walmart to even sell the album. Are they using the word retarded to insult mentally retarded people? No. But some pissed off mother of a retarded kid probably freaked out when she heard those lyrics and complained.
And I can't even make sense out of this, but in colleges it's now taboo to call classes "remedial." So my 0850 math course isn't remedial now, it's "developmental." Like wtf? Who decided "remedial" was offensive? I don't care what it's called, whenever people ask me what math I'm in I friggin tell them I'm in retard math. I could care less. Respect is fine and dandy, but people take things WAY to far and just don't know how to deal with stuff anymore. Before you know it someone will think up a way to be offended at the word "toast."

You're misinterpreting my post. I don't think people should be given free reign to go around saying spiteful things. What I mean is that you have to check your ass before you even jokingly say something that has the possibility of being offensive. There are so many extreme restrictions on words. You can't call someone fat even if you're not saying it in a mean way, you have to say overweight or other cuter sounding words. And it just annoys the piss out of me that minorities are allowed to use racial terms, even in jest, but whites aren't. They treat us like the fucking devil.
And speaking of minorities...and I the only one who thinks it's completely backwards that the minorities have all the leverage in politics and things of that nature? Wtf happened to the majority rules? I'm not saying we should ignore their needs or anything like that, it's just that it seems minorities (be it racial or sexual) always manage to get their way in everything and they have to be allowed to win.

all you crackers are as far as im concerned
What fucks me off though is people coming along and saying hey you cant call him a nigger or etc.
Its like WTF? you are telling me what i can and cant say about people or what people can or cant say about me.
I dont encourage people to go around calling me a nigger, but if they do im fine with it, but when people say im encouraging people to be racist, I just tell them to GTFO.

Exactly, we are so worried about offending minorities that we put ourselves out. Dont get me wrong im not anti-equality, but society tends to favour minorities so we dont offend them, because they are minorities.

There is another side to every story, there was a security guard a countdown that made me empty my pockets everytime i went there.
Im not blaming you, but it does happen.
