I'm going to post about something that keeps annoying me, since it's rather relevant. I'm around a lot of kids my age (obviously), and I keep having to hold my tongue when it comes to this political race. I honestly don't feel like making enemies; it's not worth the trouble. I'd have to explain the way things work in government, and essentially call them ignorant...so I just smile and keep quiet. Unless I just don't like the person. Anyway.

I *hate* when people say (and they keep freaking saying it!) "I'm moving to Canada is another Republican is president!" Of course, they refer to McCain when they say "another Republican." I want to slap them across the face. Stop being so god damn ignorant. Please. Is Bush a republican? Yes. Is McCain a republican? Yes. Are McCain and Bush the same types of Republicans? NO! Not even freaking close! McCain has hated and disagreed with the Bush administration since the beginning. They are not the same AT ALL. Stop grouping all Republicans together. It's ignorant and just makes you look foolish. I used to do that when I was, like, fifteen and didn't know anything about government or politics. Seriously, it's like seeing one aggressive dog, and then assuming all dogs in the entire world must be aggressive. That's just faulty logic.

It also annoys me how a lot of people are so arrogant with their political support when it comes to Obama, like supporting anyone else is stupid. It annoys me because they're so completely clueless. They don't have any actual realistic concepts of how governments or wars work. What would happen if we pulled all of the troops from Iraq? Um, let's see...the fragile government that exists now would collapse, and the Taliban and Al Qaeda would come back, thus making the 4,000 casualties we've already incurred completely irrelevant. Wouldn't that be great? Oh wait...that's the fucking stupidest idea ever. Was the war severely mismanaged? Yes! Can we just pretend like it never happened because Bush messed up and pull out all the troops? No! Obama is just a terrifying prospect to me. In international relations, you do NOT want a leader who is unpredictable. This makes other leaders nervous, because they cannot predict how he/she will react to things. It leads to miscommuncation, misunderstandings, and general problems. Obama is not predictable. He also is not experienced. I don't care how many people say, "LOL BUT NEITHER WAS (insert president's name)!!11" Okay, that's nice. That person was the exception, rather than the rule. I have never ONCE heard a good argument for Obama for president. I've heard nice speeches full of nice words and that's...about it. I'm just so sick of kids my age being so obnoxious and self righteous about loving Obama, knocking people who support Hillary/McCain, and then HAVING NOTHING TO SUPPORT THEIR VIEWS. They're just fucking ignorant. I want to assault them with a government textbook.

I respect the democrats because they want to see every American have the right to vote and actually have their votes counted in contrast to the conservative republicans who want only the wealthy and powerful to have that right. Looking at their most recent speeches, in PollclaSh. The republicans want the status quo and forget that we are still working to make this a more perfect union. Yes, the right-wing republicans would prefer to return to the days of slavery and when they "won" the Southwest from Mexico. The truth hurts sometimes but if what I'm writing hurts you then you must surely be a ultra right-wing republican.

Firstly, I'm not an ultra right wing Republican, far from it infact. I just find your ignorance painful. Did you know it was the republicans who got black people the right to vote. It was a very different republican party, but the point still stands. Your claim about republicans is laughable, they aren't Nazis.
Also lulz at the inverted commas around won. You forget to mention how America 'won' land from native Americans. Or do you just care about mexicans?
Then lulz at your pathetic claim that republicans are pro-slavery, as you demonstrate masses of racism.
The republicans want the status quo, not exactly a perceptive statement, isn't that the definition of conservatism?
Also it's not as if the Democrats are revolutionary, they are a centre right party.
So, all in all, it was a rather pointless anti-republican tirade, don't you think?

You sound like Al Frankin, and those people from moveon.org.

Im not a "right wing republican" but I am a registered Republican.

I think you have your facts mixed up, and I think your an opionated person, Placebo already mentioned this, but it was Republicans who gave slaves many rights they were denied by DEMOCRATS, Andrew Johnson who also a Democrat stated that black men were inferior to white men. Clearly your just repeating what some crazy left-wing lunatics are saying, and probably should stop listening to them. Also throw away your Kayne west CD's, they're no good either.

All in all, Placebo you hit the nail on the head, your comment was an anti-republican comment. And proved nothing.

Hey Erythrithol!

I agree, I remember when some actors said If Bush was elected they'd move to Canada. As if I really give a damn about what they think, or if they'd really move to Canada, maybe an ego issue?

I'm glad you pointed those things out, as they piss me off also, some kids who go to my school want Obama to win, because its a cool-fad, when I ask why, they can't give me a straight answer.

"zomg he'll pull out the troops right away" - This isn't his call to begin with, and even then its impossible to withdraw all the troops right away, things like this take time.

I'll go get myself a government Textbook, and I'll meet you outside of a School.

Obama or McCain?

Honestly I hate politics and [normally] couldn't care less.

Who do you think should be the next president of the United States? Obama or McCain? Why?

What do you think about Hillary?

McCain. I like him. His policies are good, he's believeable, and I also like Sarah Palin. She seems like she could do the job and do it quite well if she had to step in.

...Obama, on the other hand, seems too nice, you know? Like he's got a fast one planned and he's going to pull it out once he's elected. I ain't having that.

McCain will screw over education even more so than it already is (amongst other things), and I ain't all about that since it's the field I'm looking to go into. If McCain somehow miraculously wins and I have to suffer under that No Kid Left Behind horse shit anymore (not only that, but the republican way of things in general), I think I'll end up moving out of the country if it means I don't have to put up with the majority of citizens who keep voting in these jack offs that end up ruining our image even more than it already is. Obviously, my support goes to Obama; although I may not agree with him completely on every subject, realistically, for me, he is the choice to stick with.

I think we could stand for a change; it's not like we've got much to lose anyway, right? This country has and is still going downhill, and we really need to see something different for a little while.

If McCain wins, I'd be scared for my own freedom of Atheism, and I'm from England, America needs someone like Obama, who has a better civil liberties policy, to start with, McCain and Palin are possibly the worst choice for this election.

And McCain is possibly the dumbest possible president ever; here's a little example,
When Bush was in his University, he was in the middle of his class, he was Average, when McCain went to Uni, he was in the BOTTOM HALF OF A PERCENT.

He wants a spending freeze on everything but DEFENCE AND VETERAN AFFAIRS.
That'd mean a spending freeze on Education, Health Care, Transportation improvement, and not to mention a myriad of other things.

Obama '08
