Final Fantasy I: The Warriors of Light
A great darkness shrouded the world
The wind died
The sea raged
The earth began to decay
Only a prophecy kept hope alive in people’s hearts: “When darkness veils the world, four warriors of light shall come”
And after journeying far, four young warriors did at last appear
In the hands of each rested a mysterious crystal
Arriving at the Castle of Cornelia the 4 Light Warrior’s journey begins. Although there are 4 light warriors, the remaining 2 classes that are not taken first (or choose not to have a crystal) can be supporting characters, perhaps leading the quest on or helping in certain situations, entirely up to you. The story will mainly follow that of FF1’s, with a few changes such as:
The characters WILL have general personalities, can speak etc etc (wouldn’t be much of a RP otherwise, amirite? xD)
Although it follows the basic storyline, it can veer into other avenues, such as side quests or alternate means of reaching destinations etc
Although there are the 6 canon roles of the Warriors of Light you can create original characters if you wish.
Multiple characters are fine, but one Warrior of Light per person
As far as spells are concerned, they will be bought in the same fashion as they would in the game, same applies to weapons, via gil/finding in treasure chests. You're free to decide the gil you get (this will be shared among the 4 warriors, keep in mind and sharing gil with another warrior of light to buy a new piece of armour or w/e is also welcomed. This RP won't go all grindfesty so if you do plan to buy something, don't leave it too long, you have a world to save, right? xD
As far as potions are concerned, everything but phoenix downs are acceptable for purchase. Also, the church effect will not be used in this (not that I personally have every needed it, but just to add it in)
Enemies CAN be RP'd as as well, but are only open when they enter the story (hearing from the King about Garland will prompt him as available, for instance)
When we (The Warriors of Light in particular) enter a new town or dungeon, the items on offer there will be posted in here (for items in a town, gil prices will be displayed next to them)
Template:
Name: Your character’s name
Age: The age of your character
Gender: Although FF1 had gender specific classes, feel free to have a male white mage or a female monk
Crystal Colour: Which of the four colours (red, green, blue and brown) is your crystal? First come first serve, if all 4 are taken (and approved) you can't choose a crystal.
Class: The class your character is
Appearance: Your character’s physical appearance, as well as clothing/armour
Weapon: The weapon your character uses, both type and starting weapon, doesn’t need to be unique unless you wish to do so
Personality: Your character’s personality
Brief History: A summary of your character’s history, this isn’t vital for a Warrior of Light but you can add that if you wish.

I have a general question: you mentioned that Gil is used to purchase items/spells and can be passed on to other Warriors of Light to borrow and such... how exactly is the Gil system operated in this RP? Is it merely the judgement of the players or is there something more detailed?

Well i'm planning on playing through FF1 as the RP goes along and getting rough estimates of how much gil you can get out of each monster (the bestiary being helpful in accomplishing this) as a double it can also help me judge how powerful monsters and bosses will be to the party at the time. If that makes sense
Though the focus won't be strictly on battle, there will be numerous cases allowing a build up of gil to allow the Warriors of Light to actually buy stuff, rather than one or two fights in a dungeon and then the boss, for instance. Should add items to the list too actually but remove the church/phoenix down effects, just keep it to potions and recovery items etc. /adds

Class: Red Mage
Appearance: Long, straight white hair framing a clean-shaven, oval face set with chestnut brown eyes. Tall (6'4") and thin (135 lbs). The red mage wears a red tunic over red pants, belted at the waist by leather. He also has a red traveling cloak and a red hat with a white chocobo feather stuck in the band.
Weapon: Swords/Daggers. Starts with Knife.
Personality: Garish, brash, and outgoing. Blaise in an extrovert and a performer. When he's not off gallavanting to save the world, he is a jongleur, singing songs and telling jokes and performing magic for a small bit of coin.
Brief History: Blaise is a wanderer by trade, so not much is known about his past. He has a tendency to simply 'appear' in towns during festivals and the like. He is generally well-liked by most of the populations he encounters.

Yet another thing I thought up a moment ago, if anyone wants to RP one of the bosses before we reach them (Garland, Kraken, Vampire Lord etc) do say so in this thread and if I think you can handle it then you can give their bio a shot (history probably not needed, since you learn little to nothing about them anyway) also, when the RP starts, whenever we reach a new town or dungeon i'll label the items on offer in this thread, so check back often dungeons will cover dropped items as well as chests while towns will cover items for sale

Class: Warrior
Appearance: Possesses light blue eyes and long, light blonde hair and stands at 6ft exactly in height. He has caucasian skin and is relatively free of blemish or scar, considering his role as a warrior. He wears (as of start of the RP) a simple, loose cloth shirt and pants, with light cloth shoes. Around his neck he wears a necklace with his crystal attached to it.
Weapon: Swords, Rapier
Personality: Very honour and duty-bound, seeking to fulfil the prophecy and save the world from darkness. Never plotting for personal gain, he'd sooner help his friends than help himself. Charitable to those in need and condemning on those who would hurt the innocent.
Brief History: Not a great deal is known about the Warrior of Light other than his Knightly attitude, his past is unknown, though it is believed that he was created by the light to be it's champion in this time of strife.

Fufufu, I'll take garland. just gimmie a moment to create his bio.......Is more than four people being the warriors of light? I didn't read thorough enough...I just reread. if there are only 4 warriors of light then I might as well be Garland.....but if not I want the monk ...

There are 4 warriors of light, the remaining 2 classes that are not taken will be supporting roles. There's also the option of original characters who won't be as powerful/skilled as the main 6. There are villain roles which will become available as the story progresses (albeit quite small, with the exception of Garland, of course) if a villain isn't taken by the time they are encountered then I will control them myself
Also, to avoid confusion, Garland WILL NOT be based on his Dissidia counterpart
